Hello everyone, I am here with another deck guide, and this time it's a really funny one, as I really like to bend the rules of Hearthstone :) Allow me to present you the Obsidian Rage Priest!

General

This deck is all about cheating a big minion into play and reviving it as soon as you can. As such, there are very few minions in the deck to ensure that you get what you need with Barnes and Shadow Essence. So you just try to stall for a while with your spells, and as soon as you can you go for some huge minion, which should then kill your opponent quickly.

Pirate Warrior is the worst matchup for this deck as you have a hard time preventing rush damage that he is capable of, but other aggro decks are fine, as dealing with the board is your strong suit. You especially want to play against Shaman or Taunt Druid, as you just cheat a big taunt minion to play early and they have a hard time dealing with that.

Against control your best bet to win is to play Y’Shaarj, Rage Unbound as many times as you can, and usually they won’t have answer to it for the third time or so. If they still somehow manage to clear your board, then you must get as much value as you can from Thoughtsteal and Devour Mind to beat them.

Guide

If you could choose one card that would always start in your hand, it would be Barnes. Drawing him is insane, and is the single best card in the deck by far to get. Other than that you can keep Shadow Essence in most matchups as it is your main gameplan, but if you think they will be hyper aggressive then you might have to toss it. Shadow Word: Pain and Shadow Visions are also good keep basically no matter what, and I keep Mind Vision most of the time as well. Thanks to aforementioned deck restriction this card had to make the cut, and it helps you to do anything in the early game as they should have some cheap cards in hand after they mulligan.

Against aggro you are looking for Potion of Madness, and Holy Smite is also good, especially if you are on the draw.

Against control you can keep Eternal Servitude as the card is great and game will go quite long. Thoughtsteal is also a good keep, especially on the play.

And just a small bonus to wrap it up, you should keep Shadow Word: Horror versus Shaman and mulligan it when you play against anything else.

Changes

I really dug deep to find any playable spells, so I don’t think there is much you can change there, but if you figure out something then sure let me know. Where you get to make the choices is you minion combo package.

I know I said that Barnes is the best card, but theoretically you could cut him as it greatly improves your Shadow Essence as you will always hit something good. I think that Barnes compensates for this with him being super strong when drawn, but I just wanted to let you know that this could be a possibility.

After that there is only Y’Shaarj, Rage Unbound that has to be in the deck, and all the others are optional. Obsidian Statue is real huge brick wall against aggro, but if you are playing versus control all the time, you could just switch one of them for Ysera.

The Lich King can also be removed from the deck if you don’t have him or feel like you have too many big targets in the deck, and I have played for a long time with this deck with Devour Mind in his place.

That's all I have for you today guys, hope you enjoyed my article! I really recommend that you try this deck, it’s very good and so much fun. As always, don’t forget to see the Youtube video if you are interested in some gameplay, and if you liked the deck, then Youtube subscribe is greatly appreciated. See you next week with another deck guide!

Cheers
