The idea: This is a control priest with a potential OTK finisher. However it is not designed to require the OTK and is more than capable of winning without it.
The OTK is the same as Penguin OTK, but uses Forbidden Shaping instead as this card actually has value outside the OTK. It also has Silence and Circle of Healing for the second 0-cost card. Both of which also have value outside the OTK.
The other ways this deck can win are value off Barnes, Eternal Servitude and/or Shadow Essence.
Card Breakdown:
The 0-cost spells: These spells can be used for the OTK in control matchups, or for tempo/Lyra in other matches.
Northshire Cleric: Draw and early plays to slow aggro (OK Essence target)
Potion of Madness/Power Word: Shield - cheap anti aggro spells / fuel for Lyra
Bloodmage Thalnos: Spell damage for board clears and draw (OK Essence target)
Radiant Elemental: Early drop, combos with Lyra (OK Essence target)
Shadow Visions: Grab a second copy of a useful spell (usually Dragonfire Potion)
Spirit Lash: Early anti aggro - synergy with spell damage
Tainted Zealot: Early drop, spell damage (survives both symmetric Board clears) (Good Essence Target)
Acolyte of Pain: Early card draw, Spirit Lash synergy (Good Essence target)
Mirage Caller: OTK Combo piece (Poor Essence target)
Shadow Word: Death - removal
Auchenai Soul Priest: Combo with Circle, good with 0-cost Hero Power (OK Essence target)
Barnes: many with many of the same cards as Shadow Essence (Poor Essence target)
Eternal Servitude - Can win games with a great Rez especially after Barnes/Essense
Greater Healing potion - helps with burn decks and after stablizing
Kazakus - Powerful jack of all trades (Poor Essence target)
Priest of the Feast: Anti aggro /anti-burn, good spell/Lyra synergy (OK Essence target)
Devour Mind: Hand refill
Holy Nova: Board Clear, spell damage synergy
Lyra the Sunshard: Powerful win condition (Good Essence target)
Raza the Chained: OTK combo setup, great for anti aggro sustain (Poor Essence target)
Dragonfire Potion: Great Board Clear
Shadow Essence: A spell that can put Prophet Velen, The Lich King or Obsidian Statue Early
Prophet Velen: OTK combo, improves Spirit Lash and Holy Nova in midrange matchups
Shadow Reaper Anduin: Great board clear vs big midrange minions, OTK combo setup
The Lich King: Powerful rez and pull target, great in control matchups
Obsidian Statue: Powerful rez and pull target, great for stabilization
This deck lacks too much draw to be good. Good idea, bad execution.
I made a quest version that is slower, but has better card draw and won me three games in a row. First one I play this one and it gets beat by a quest hunter..... Which is garbage. Sat with about 2-3 cards in hand all game. That is not how priest shines. More cards=more wins.
The only "guaranteed" card draws (if you see them in the first 15 draws..) are acolyte and thalanos, and the chances of getting them as a barnes or essence aren't great. Northshire is situational, but can win games, also needs her when creeps are low and can't be too late for effectiveness to be there.
Also, I think the aucheni and circle combo is very bad in this deck. Extremely situational, and having it be a highlander deck, you can't expect that situational combo to be drawn often.
