Turn 3 kill!

Silence priest has slightly favorable matchups on all the ranks.

statistics from vicious syndicate

With this list i went from rank 8 to 6 undefeated, despite facing no jade druids which is the stereotypical matchup that you play silence priest to beat.

As you can see the 1 druid i faced was a token druid which is considered a bad matchup. My 1 loss after I hit rank 6 was to taunt warrior.

I've tinkered with silence priest in the past and have never been very good at it despite over 800 ranked priest wins and 2 times hitting legend with other classes. I ran out of silence priest decks to try and decided to make my own. This deck isn't revolutionary. The success comes entirely from the core cards which I tried to replicate.

core silence priest cards vicious syndicate

As you can see i included 2 copies of the most commonly found silence priest cards, because i wanted to replicate the success it has on ladder. I hate replaying decks I've already failed with though so I made my own mix including 2 new cards. *If any silence priest experts want to weigh in on my choices it will be helpful.*

new/experimental cards:

Stonehill Defender  A strong card which has seen a lot of play in other decks, but not in silence priest. It "seems good" in that it provides stalling and life preservation for both your face, nortshire and big silence targets. Many of the taunts you can choose have high life totals so it seems like a good choice in theory.

Binding HealNorthshire drawing is very important to this archetype so having a 1 mana heal, that also has synergy with wild pyromancer and lyra seems good. Players with some familiarity with silence priest will often damage your passive minions to hedge their bets against you creating a huge divine spirit minion.  This spell heals  your minion cheaply  as well as your face. The face heal should be good against agro and may even buy you a turn against the popular freeze and burn mage decks. A favorable matchup against freeze mage is one of the reasons i tried this archetype.

other "1 offs": As you can see most of the cards i included only 1 of apart from the new ones, are mostly the conditional cards in the deck that see less play. Many of them are great or game winning in certain situations, but you wouldnt want to have hand with just them.

Beginner tips: remember to silence your big passive minions *before* buffing them or you'll silence the buffs.

Think of what your opponent might play before playing out your Northshire cleric for tempo. If you lose it without drawing a card this is usually bad.

Usually you aren't going to 1 turn kill your opponent so if you have an opportunity to make a really big minion that should win you the game over a multiple turns it's probably worth it. Think about what removal your opponent runs and the risk in the situation. If you're going to lose if you dont make the big minion then just do it. If you are in a strong position you can play more carefully. Knowing the meta decks well helps a lot.
