Moonkin Druid

Hi Everybody,

Malygos Beast Druid or Moonkin Druid is my favorite deck of all times. It has made me insanely happy and is the reason for most the fun I had in Hearthstone.

Thank you all for your great suggestions (people on reddit). I now reworked the deck and I can finally say, that it reached it's highest powerlevel of all times and is mindblowingly strong in the current meta.

The deck is something entirely different. The best way I can describe it's playstyle, is as a mix between old Force-Roar Druid, Malygos Druid and Miracle Rogue.

The gameplan is to balance 3 things: 1) Ramping your mana 2) Developing boards 3) Drawing cards. If you succeed, you can burst your oponnent down from high live totals with Malygos, Jungle Moonkin or even just natural damage this deck packs so much of.

It is very, very flexible and requires you to adapt all the time, sometimes you can control the board, sometimes you charge Druid of the Claws into your oponennts face and hope you get there.

I made the first versions of this deck in Standard back in the WotoG meta, where it was very different and worked quite well. Since then I constantly adapted and tested it and I can proudly say, that right now, it is better than it ever was before! Mostly because the Meta is very favourable for it, but also because Ultimate Infestation provided the perfect card for this deck.

Cards

1) Moonfire: Combo enabler, pairs well with Spell Damage

2) Dire Mole / Enchanted Raven: Solid Stats, that give you a strong potential opener with Mark of Y'Shaarj. If you wanna be even stronger against slower decks, you can run Enchanted Raven, while Dire Moly should be better against aggro.

3) Druid of the Swarm: Just a strong flexible beast, that can heal you or block a big minion from your oponnent. I decided to run it only as a one of, because as a standalone card it doesen't apply enough pressure.

4) Hungry Crab: A tech card, that's supposed to targed Paladin. You can also run any other tech you feel you need more instead.

5) Mark of Y'Shaarj: One of the core pieces of the deck: It cycles while giving you stronger board positions. It also often gives your beasts that extra punch, that helps threatining your oponnents live total.

6) Wild Growth: At first glance the combination of early game minions and heavy ramp might look odd, but it actually works exceptionally well and gives the deck it's specific feeling that is a little reminiscent of old Force Roar Druid.

7) Wrath: Cycles, good with Spell Damage.

8) Prince Taldaram: A super cool new inclusion, that really enables tons of very powerful plays for this deck. Against slow decks you can copy Jungle Moonkin (giving you a build yourself Malygos) , Emperor Thaurissan (enabling Malygos + Swipe) or Malygos (when both are reduced). Sometimes it will also be good just with Azure Drake or even a charging Druid of the Claw. Against Aggro you shouldn't be greedy with it. The best use you might get out of it copying a charger or a divine shield minion.

9) Jungle Moonkin: The true heart of the deck, one of the coolest and most essential cards. It has various uses with basically all the spells in the deck, especially Swipe becomes so much more powerful. There are basically 3 ways to use it: a) A burn enabler and finisher. b) a board clear enabler with Swipe c) Just some solid stats with beast tag you can slam (which you should only do if you have little or no other minions on board, because the clears become so easy for your oponnent). At the moment the risks it brings with it are minimal, since almost no Meta decks can take advantage of the Spellpower that well. If there ever should be a meta with tons of Aggro Shaman and Flamewaker Mage you might cut it and add Fandral Staghelm, a second Azure Drake or Bloodmage Thalnos instead.

10) Mire Keeper: Just a good card, that gets you to Ultimate Infestation.

11) Swipe: Another core druid card, that works especially well with Spell Damage

12) Azure Drake: One is enough. Even though it basically does everything this deck wants, it's a little slow sometimes and clock up your hand way too much and make it hard to cast Ultimate Infestation.

13) Druid of the Claw: Really good, flexible card in this deck. Just fits the gameplan so well, since you can have a solid taunt against aggro, while you can charge a 4 damage into your oponnents face against slow decks.

14) Nourish: Ramps or draws, we like both.

15) Emperor Thaurissan: SO insane in this deck. With all the low cost cards amplifying their powerlevel when combined with each other, Emperor just enables the most absurd turns, you can possibly have in Heartstone.

16) Malfurion the Pestilent: Absolutely great card, that lets you get some damage in or defend yourself very effectivly.

17) Malygos: The ultimate combo card, but don't be too hesitant to just slam him and hope he doesen't get removed. There are many different ways to set up several combos with Emperor Thaurissan and Prince Taldaram.

18) Ultimate Infestation: This is just the greatest card of all times and I don't know a single Druid deck that takes adavantage of it's power so well. You can spam out board of low costing beasts, while you remove, develope and get your combo together.
