20 damage Mind Blasts?
Velen OTK decks used to exist with Resurrect, but it was less reliable as you could run no other minions aside from Prophet Velen. Now, with the release of Eternal Servitude, Discover will give you three options. This means we can run 2 other minion types and still guarantee the Velen resurrect. What other 2 minions should we run?
Radiant Elemental and Lyra the Sunshard, of course. Radiant Elemental can be used early game against aggro to use multiple removal spells and help you survive until late game. It is also used to enable the Velen resurrect combo. Lyra can be used to generate extra removal (and possibly find more copies of Mind Blast, Holy Smite, or Eternal Servitude.
So, what is the combo? You need to play Prophet Velen at some point and make sure it can die. If it doesn't die or at least survive a turn, you lose. Great care must be taken when playing against Shaman or Mage, as Devolve, Hex, and Polymorph will ruin your day.
Once Velen dies and you have 2 Eternal Servitudes and at least 1 Radiant Elemental in your hand, the fun begins.
1x Radiant Elemental + 2x Eternal Servitude + 2x Mind Blast = 40 damage, 10 mana
2x Radiant Elemental + 2x Eternal Servitude + 2x Mind Blast = 40 damage, 8 mana
1x Radiant Elemental + 2x Eternal Servitude + 1x Mind Blast + 1x Holy Smite = 28 damage, 9 mana
1x Radiant Elemental + 2x Eternal Servitude + 1x Mind Blast + 2x Holy Smite = 36 damage, 9 mana
1x Radiant Elemental + 2x Eternal Servitude + 2x Mind Blast + 2x Holy Smite = 56 damage, 10 mana
and so on.
Now, how do we stay alive until we can pull this off?
AOE Removal - Embrace the Shadow + Circle of Healing, Pint-Size Potion + Shadow Word: Horror, and Dragonfire Potion
Single Target Removal - Shadow Word: Pain, Shadow Word: Death
Heal - Spirit Lash, Greater Healing Potion
Card Draw - Power Word: Shield, Mass Dispel
Unfortunately Card Draw is not great in this deck. You typically might PW:S an enemy minion before using removal on it, or PW:S your Radiant Elemental in the early game.
What about the last card?
Shadow Visions - Discover extra copies of removal or combo pieces, depending on what you need. Never throw it out on turn 2, save it to cycle for something you actually need.
How did this "deck" get 16 upvotes??? OMG, guys, are you blind or what? This deck has no card draw (except Power Word: Shield) what literally means that your combo is incredibly inconsistent and unreliable.
In my humble opinion a combo deck without a card draw makes no sense, cause you just won't draw your win condition. Look at all the combo decks that ever existed: Freeze Mage, Exodia Mage, Patron Warrior, Worgen Warrior, Maligos Druid, etc. And even these decks have seen games where they didn't draw all combo pieces.
And not only that. How are you planning to survive until you are actually able to play Prophet Velen? Against control you will just have a hand full of useless cards (Pint-Size Potion, Circle of Healing, Embrace the Shadow and all that shit). Against aggro you should always hard mulligan for Embrace the Shadow + Circle of Healing combo or you will get rushed in 3 - 4 turns, and the chances of you having this combo by turn 3 are pretty low (Spirit Lash is not really doing work without spellpower). Ok, let's say you got it and cleared the board. Next you have to have another aoe, something like Dragonfire Potion or Pint-Size Potion + Shadow Word: Horror combo. Ok, you got it, it doesn't matter that the chances of getting it are still very very low.
Finally, this is turn 7. OMG, We survived! But no, wait, there is no Prophet Velen in my hand, what do i do now? Oh, i got Lyra the Sunshard but there are no Radiant Elementals. Shit, that sucks! Ok, let's say you had Prophet Velen. But you didn't draw any Mind Blasts or Holy Smites or you have already spended Holy Smite as removal. What a shame... I wish i had more card draw in my deck to draw my combo pieces and removals in time.
But ok, let's say you somehow had a lethal combo after all aoe clears and played Prophet Velen (i don't now if there is the way actually, because your opponent will 100% have at least 30 hp by the turn you play Prophet Velen). But what if your opponent removes Prophet Velen (what is very likely to happen) and you don't have Eternal Servitudes (i imagine you have to have 2, cause, again, your opponent 100% has at least 30 hp)? Also, playing Prophet Velen on turn 7 means that you are doing nothing about your opponent's turn 6 that means he can smash you in the face and it may be lethal.
Yes, there are 2 copies of Shadow Visions that increases our chances of drawing the right cards a little bit, but anyway, how many cards must you mulligan and draw exactly in a row to win the game? 10? Or more? I don't even want to bother doing strict calculations of all these chances.
This deck is absolute garbage! Moreover, it is not even a fun deck! What is funny about having hand full of useless cards?! The only win condition this deck has is meeting an idiot which plays the exact same deck so one of you can finally get a win. Oh, i forgot that your opponent can just concede at the very start of the match. Keep dreaming.
I think you builded it before Shadow Essence got revealed. Here's my contributions :
What do you think ?
I was thinking of making the exact same thing
nice

Honestly I think you should add Malygos and play 4 minions. Him and Prophet Velen are basically interchangeable for your win condition. I also liked the idea of Barnes but I don't know what minion to replace to make space for him.
Not a big fan of Malygos in this deck, but by all means you can experiment. Malygos is better with Holy Smite but worse with Mind Blast. Also the higher mana cost is a problem, as you can't play it plus SW:D on the same turn against a Mage or Shaman who you know have transform cards.
Your card draw minions completely ruin the reliability of your combo.
Remember when Reno Jackson was first released, and everyone was trying to put duplicates of important cards in reno decks? Later on every Reno deck ran exclusively 1-ofs.
You would realize the same thing after playing your deck for a few weeks. It's not worth gambling your win condition on any amount of RNG in this type of deck.
Greater Healing Potion cant target Enemy
Barnes seems like a fantastic option for this deck.
Barnes could be swapped in for Lyra depending on the meta. I would prefer Lyra. There is definitely no way you could run both, unless you wanted to have to make sure you only play 2 out of the 3 non-Velen minions.
Barnes would improve your win rate against shaman and mage. They are going to be running hex and poly so you're not going to ressurect Velen EVER. But if you can Barnes into Velen with burn in hand you can win out of nowhere. And they are less likely to burn poly or hex on a 1/1. I think it will improve consistency. Sure you might whiff on eternal servitude once, but probably not twice. Also... room for malygos? Barnes into malygos with spirit lash in hand is pretty much a guaranteed full clear.
Against Mage and Shaman you basically need to SW:D your Velen on turn 10.
Oops, my bad.
You forgot a Key part of the combo in this deck Mind Blast isn't in the list.
Fixed
Maybe he put in mass dispel by mistake? they seem pretty out of place. I love the idea though and I will be trying an OTK priest deck
No, Mass Dispel is needed for card draw. Took out on Mass Dispel and one SW:P for 2x Mind Blast.
I guess it's easily beatable with the Quest Mage.
