Greetings friend. Thank you for looking at my deck.
I am a 10 time legend player. I enjoy playing combo decks. Previously i have used decks like malygos shaman, miracle priest and anyfin paladin to make legend. This is a combo elemental priest deck I used this season in standard. I decided to make this deck because I thought there was a lot of potential in the powerful elemental battlecries that I have only seen taken advantage of by Shamans and in arena. Since priest has one of the most powerful legendaries in the set (which happens to be an elemental) I decided to make this deck.
The match ups are similar to those with a regular miracle priest, but you have more tools with which to fight for the board (blazecaller, fireplume pheonix, tar creeper) . To get full value off your elemental battlecries, you need to plan your turns in advance. Do the math and know how much mana you will be coming up on.
Servant of Khalimos and Lyra are your main value generators... you can even get an extra Lyra off servant of Khalimos!!! There is no aoe in this deck, so be prepared to fight for the board.
The mana geode is your preferred 2 drop, it can paralyze a lot of the token, aggro or murloc decks popular right now early and make them take sub-optimal early turns.
Good match ups include
Secret and freeze mage (pop them by 9),
Jade druid (easy now that mulch is gone they have no way to deal with thick minions),
hunter (out value them by healing minions and health buffs)
Medium match ups include
Midrange/ control paladin (try to use your health buffs for lethal, a premature divine spirit might tip them off and get you equalitied)
Miracle rogue (just try to fill the board early since they lack any clear)
Pirate warrior (just survive, getting a health buff on a tar creeper can slow them down)
Bad matchups include
Token shaman ( hard to get anything to stick, plus devolve makes health buffs irrelevant)
Aggro druid (similar to hunter, use health buffs to get favourable trades)
If you are bored of the un goro meta like I am, give this deck a try. I had a lot of fun this season chaining the elementals together and discovering with servant of khalimos.
Is wild pyromancer a good replacement for mana geode?
I didn't include Wild pyro because you usually want to build a board... If you include Wild pyro maybe also add a circle of healing as well
If I could upvote numerous times, I would. Super fun deck!
Why didn't you add the card "Lightspawn" to this deck? Works well with the "Divine Spirit".
Lightspawn does have excellent synergy with the health buffs. However, playing it is slow and has little effect on the board state... the cards i have selected either have an immediate impact (fire plume pheonix, tar creeper, blazecaller) or provide value (crystalline oracle, servant of khalimos, mana geode). I think lightspawn would be a good addition if you find yourself facing a lot of control decks
Thanks. I agree with you about the difference in games... i actually just beat a freeze mage by discovering baron geddon :-)
Pirate warrior is really draw dependent, if you can get an early high health minion and keep them off board they are helpless. My record against hunter and shaman are the reverse of yours lol. Glad to see you are having success. I tend to get fledgelinged a lot, maybe i should start keeping pain in the mulligan against druid.
I'm still looking for a good elemental deck, from shaman to mage and priest, so i wanted to give a try to this list and i've to say it, it's really fun :D .
Good job man!
thank you!
