Hi everybody, I'm Havefun, a french casual player playing since vanilla hearthsone.

At the beginning, I just wanted to farm my golden priest but things went a lot better than expected.

I played this deck from rank 16 to rank 4-legend (best rank so far)

This deck is based around board control. You play high-stated minion which are hard to remove and try to steamroll your opponent.

Generic mulligan : Northshire Cleric, twilight whelp, wyrmrest agent. With the coin, you keep blackwing technician and kabal talonpriest if you have a 1-drop in hand.

Match-ups :

I don't track my game (don't use a deck tracker either) so I'll try my best to explain how I see the different match-ups. I will make a difference between ladder climbing and high-legend because there is really a big difference in the way people play.

Pirate-warrior : 60%WR climbing, 30% in high-legend

Let's start with THE deck to beat. During my climb I thought I was doing pretty good against pirates. But I discovered that people in the top 100 know what they're doing and my winrate dropped dramaticaly. Against them, you want to kill their board as fast as you can (can be really hard if they steamroll you with an upgradded fiery waraxe) and hide being big/buffed taunt.

Tokken druid : 80-85% WR

This is a really good match-up, you can keep up with their early game most-of the time. The 3-attack on talonpriest and technician is doing wonder. Try to reduce the power of savage roar most of the time.

Aggro shaman : 80% WR

Another really good match-up. Usually they can deal with the board and keep on developping but not against you because your minions are really high-stated. Even with their best start (trog+totem golem or claw) you can beat them. Be careful of burst. Midrange shaman is a little harder but still a favorable match-up.

Control shaman : 55% WR

An even match-up in my book. They tend to be very passive in the 4 first turn and try to come back with cards like volcano/ lightning storm. But usually, you have more than 15 health on board by turn 4. Entomb is usually MVP if they go for a big taunt + ancestral spirit. Try to get hex with Operative too.

Freeze mage : 60% WR climbing, 35% in high-legend

Here is the weakness of my deck : no Shadow word : pain and no bookwyrm. Frost-nova + doom sayer hurts a lot. But most of the time you win by out-healing them while popping the block on the alex turn. On high-legend, most player don't go for alex and burn you from 27/28 hp with thaurissan into thalnos + ice lance. Priest of the feast is MVP, keep him in your opening hand.

Reno mage : 70% WR

Same as it was in standard some months ago, dragon priest tends to run over reno mage with boards that are hard to clear for them. Their out is to pull a lot of deathrattle minions with an early N'zoth or to have an insane early Khazamakus potion. Most of the time you beat them pretty easily.

Reno priest : 80% WR climbing, 60% WR in high-legend

If you like awesome matches, you'll be served. Here is a match that tend to last. Control the board, play as much as you can around dragonfire potion and Lightbomb. Most of the time their hand run dry faster than yours if you can keep the tempo high. 4-attack minion are a pain for both sides, Operative and historian are MVP.

Combo priest : 60% WR climbing, 35% in high legend

Try to maintain the board and to keep the health of their minions as low as you can (by "bumping" into them without killing them sometimes). Beware of velen's chosen. Dragon fire wins games.

Renolock : 50% WR climbing, 30% in high-legend

You need a great start to get them on the ropes. The key is to force them to play in a reactive way most of the time while playing around their AOE.

N'zoth control warrior : 80% WR

Play around brawl, generate value, crush them ^^.

Midrange hunter : 70% WR

Their gameplan is similar to yours at the exception that they go face around turn 6-7 when you start generating more value. Your early minions are better so you tend to win the board control war.

Dude paladin : 70% WR climbing, 50% in high-legend

Control the board as much as you can, don't let the dudes live. Primordial drakes are great, azure/velen's chosen + holy nova clears a board full of 3/3.

Jade druid : 65% WR

You play a high tempo deck with high-stated minions which druid really struggle with. Their best solution is to grow their jade really fast or to get an early primordial drake. This may be one of the only match-up where face can be the place (sometimes against reno deck too).
