Awaken the Shadows and outvalue your enemies!

Updates:

  • 11.6.: Created the deck and added a basic deck description.
  • 13.6.: Very happy with the deck's performance. Deck works as well as a freshly oiled clockwork machine. Deck description updated.
    • Works amazingly well vs Shaman, Mage (both midrange and Exodia versions) and Warrior decks. Aggro druid (and aggro decks in general) stands no chance against this deck, although I lost some games to aggro Hunter (didn't manage to complete the Quest in time). Quest Rogue is (sadly) the only real threat for this deck on the ladder.
    • Speculating whether or not to replace Shadowform with some healing spell (e.g. Greater Healing Potion) due to facing a decent amount of aggro decks.

Playstyle

This deck is mixing together the best elements of priest:
survivability, control, value, possible combos and (for those who decide to include this card) Shadowform
It's a flexible value machine that works with itself thanks to the card synergy.

Card choices:

  • Bloodmage Thalnos - Deathrattle minion which provides card draw. There was unfortunately (almost) no space to include many cards that can be played in correlation with him, but he is still usefull and can bring some extra value to the table with spells you get from Lyra the Sunshard. Can be excluded for replacing it by a different deathrattle card.

  • Barnes - Barnes is a great card which can speed up your quest completion considering you play a hefty amount (10) of deathrattle mininos. He can screw you up sometimes, but he's still worth to have a spot in the deck.
  • Shadowform - This card is basically my precious. It has (by itself) won me many games. It's good for trading and can also help you finish off your opponent by applying constant face pressure. You can also get another copy via Shadow Visions but don't expect that to happen very often. Better played in lategame or when you're in the lead. However, it is not necessary for the deck to function properly. If you don't want to play it, feel free to replace it - preferably with a different spell.

  • MedivhArcane Giant - There is a lot of spells (11+Kazakus' Potion) in this deck, not counting the ones you might get out of Lyra the Sunshard. These two give you some extra spicy value for actions you made (or will make) in the game.

Tips:

  • Sometimes it's better to play Northshire Cleric on turn one instead of Awaken the Makers, especially in cases when you know you will have to compete for early game board control/board presence (e.g. vs Shaman and aggro decks).

  • Try to get a second Dragonfire Potion from Shadow Visions when facing Quest Rogues ASAP!

  • Try to play Lyra the Sunshard only when you can play some (cheap) spells during the same turn.
