Before I start, just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU!!! to all those that have supported this deck and made contributions via liking and comments, the last thing I expected was to be on page 1 all week and longer still at the moment. I am a noob been playing around a month, so as you can expect, I did not think such thing would happen as page 1. So again THANK YOU to everyone, and I am happy to have helped similar noobs like myself be at least somewhat competitive in the current meta, and in some cases, much more than competitive as a good pilot to this deck. Thank you!
I have been making decks left right and center, trying to complete in todays meta against the likes of all these aggro decks with Hunter and Warrior, and especially Quest Rogue, which I kept losing to over and over.
Did some research, a little disenchanting and dusting, and came up with this deck slight alternative to similar much more expensive Secret Mage decks.
Now I am beating all aggro decks and have 100% now against Quest Rogue, especially if you copy or counter their quest, instant rage quit from opponent, finally having some fun now in HS, I am a noob only been playing a few weeks, so can't build these super expensive decks, but considering the cost of this, it's doing extremely well in todays meta.
if you have not completed the Karazhan Adventure. Then there are some very good replacements for Medivhs Valet, which will compliment this deck still such as:
Sorcerers Apprentice - So many spells for Mage, this card is a fantastic replacement.
Blizzard: Counter to aggro and minion heavy opponents.
Polymorph: Counter against Big minions
Kabal Lackey: Playing this first turn with counterspell, can actually kill off quest opponents on turn 1.
Arcanse Missiles: Counter to early minion planting from enemy
Arcane Explosion: Same as above.
Mulligan: Try and aim for Mana Wyrm and Frostbolt, 1 drop with the wyrm followed by frostbolt to remove a minion AND add attack to the wyrm is a very strong opener.
Arcane Giant is also a very replaceable card, I have been trying other big minions all in it's place all with success such as Alexstraza (sorry for spelling), Medivh the Guardian (that was extremely fun, as for each spell casted you gain a minion for same cost) so using a AOE card to remove enemy minions while gaining a 7 mana minion is rather OP but very fun. But like I said you can play around with arcane giant, and replace as you wish, either for fun or simply because you don't have arcane giant.
Some updates so far personally from this deck for me: I was stuck at rank 20 with all the decks I have till I made this deck, I now have gone from rank 20 to 15 with about 80% winrate, so expecting to go much much further. For example, my last game was against a aggro face hunter warrior, every minion he put down I had answers to in the means of removing it, with freezing and 3 damage off for example on his fledging, 2 damage to all minions, then finally 7 mana 4 health of all enemy minions, midevh also removed ANOTHER fledging before this while also getting a minion onto the field, warrior raged and quit in the end before we reached 10 mana moves, as his hand was now empty, he could only use top deck cards, I countered everything he had, with either hero power, freezing or AOE cards, with a secret also of 8 armour, he managed by turn 8 to have my health at 28, with armour still of 2. Obviously conceding was his best play at that point haha.
