Looks really good, too bed the best card is going to be nerfed soon because reasons.
Can I ask you about the changes? I'm also a big fan of the control shaman decks (i played a lot of jade elemental last expansion), but if you ask me N'zoth is the only viable of them all atm. So why did you cut him for the sake of The Lich King, Voodoo Hexxer (after the patch anti-aggro tools won't be that necessary).
Earth Shock also feels a strange inclusion. Hex would do a better job even after the nerf.
Hoenstly it was just to test it out for now. More often then not Ancestral and spirit echos didn't get played right, felt clunky. Also N'zoth was dead quite a bit. I am adding Nzoth back in though because of white eyes and aya.
Earth Shock is kinda a flex spot at the moment. Has come in hand quite a bit. Will probably play with something else soon.
Removed Voodoo for N'zoth and Earth Shock for Ancestral Spirit. A lot of good targets for it with N'zoth. Also might try to find room for another Jade Spirit, would be very helpful.
So imho this deck is on the right path. My advice is - think about the upcoming meta, where jade dudu and priest decks will be dominant, think about the popularity of some mid-range decks (zoo, hunter), secret mage, quest!, miracle rogue and adjust your deck to that environment. Go through some of your cards and consider how much do they contribute to the main strategy of the deck. Because if I were you, I wouldn't include only expensive stuff, but I would also concentrate on the mid-game.
Quick notice - maybe this won't be true in your deck, but in mine I wasn't impressed by The Lich King. It wasn't because of the outcome, as I normally got decent death knight cards, but the fact that I had to wait 8 turns, almost always with a small hand size and then to play a big body, which is weak to single target removals. So I replaced him with something else.
Honestly the lich king is in there just for the taunt to maybe save me or keep them back for a turn or so. The DK card is just a bonus. What do you think would be a good replacement? Another jade spirit maybe? maybe Spirit Echo?
- Ancestral Spirit - a bad top-deck, if you don't have a board. Even w/o the Innervate jade dudu will draw more cards than you and you will struggle, if you don't get to your strongest minions before they do. Not to mention priests run a lot of silence. Imho you should run even more card draw - Far Sight. I think, that cycling through your deck faster is a bit more advantageous. The second copy of this card can replace a copy of Volcano, as you are in a much better position, when having a board of you own, than playing an AoE (with overload).
- Spirit Echo - I've always liked the card. It's a reverse Brann Bronzebeard, who gives us tempo, but this one prevents us losing resources to AoEs. That said, achieving that board state won't be that easy, as the card draw in our decks isn't optimized. However, come to think of it, include 1 copy of Echo for now. This is something, which shamans consider being a strong side of theirs. So I take my words back, the card is fine, we just have to play more carefully. Who said, that control shaman should be an auto-pilot deck.
- Devolve - it all depends how prevalent the aggro decks will be. Imho you already have 2 copies of Hex, so devolve won't be really needed.
- Jade Spirit - give it a try (after the patch hits). I would go for a stronger minion, because very often you will spawn a 2/3 with a 1/1 on turn 4, which is what the two popular decks would want you to play. Pressure - this is what you should aim for, whatever this means. I don't mean the 4m 7/7, because the overload will punish you.
-> Why not consider a small dragon package? In my main deck (handlock) I plan to remove The Lich King for Ysera. I think, that the meta will slow down and thus I can afford to play a bigger minion over the taunt. I wasn't that impressed by the Death Knight cards, I kept LK, like you said, because he has taunt. You could also consider this thought. My advice regarding Jade Spirit is the following one - Skulking Geist, Cairne Bloodhoof, Bone Drake (+Netherspite Historian). I know, that the 4 mana curve will become weaker, but I don't see anything else better. Theoretically Barnes would fit in this deck, as he will give you in most cases deathrattle minions. There is certainly going to be a low roll, so I'm only mentioning him.
Just climbed from Rank 12 to Rank 5 with this deck! Looking forward to my Golden Epic! :)
Control Shaman is the best type of deck. Such a cool archetype
There's no cooler feeling than casting spirit echo after your n'zoth turn.
I know I love this deck, playing control type decks is so much more fun for me then playing aggro.
This is the coolest deck hands down in Standard right now.
Is this every considered a 'control' deck?
I just switched it around. I took out the acolyte and dirty rat and put in another hot spring guardian and elise.
But I think I am gonna swap elise and doomsayer for 2 maelstrom portals.
I'm playing this deck right now.
It's fun and it's not like the other decks in the current meta.
So far stats are positive.
I just don't quite understand some of the cards in the deck.
First of all Acolyte of Pain when there are 2 Mana Tide Totem already.
Also Doomsayer and Dirty Rat, I haven't seen much of them.
And the lack of Maelstrom Portal is also not in place in the current meta. Very good against aggro druids, hunters, murloc paladins.
I think you can swap a few cards to make the deck even more exciting. I love decks that are creative and not top tier. We haven't seen Ancestral Spirit almost never, so that's fun and I upvote this deck :)
Happy gaming
Maybe dirty rat and Doomsayer for 2 maelstrom portals. 1 acolyte for another hot springs guardian?
I have only played it like 3 games and won them all. I have never made a deck guide before either. Quest rogue is tough, control paladin games go on along time same with warrior. I would have to play more games to get more info though.
And how work this deck in meta? Any stats? looks pretty solid
I just got 100 gold and opened a pack and there was a spirit echo in there so I took a Ancestral Spirit out for it.
Yesterday I got 100 gold and opened the Mage Quest. Pretty lucky for 2 packs.
