Hello!
I am a brazillian player who recently reached legend rank and started messing up with some decks. Since I love priest cards, I tried to figure out a way to counter all the current meta and I finally reached this set. Went from rank 15 to 5 and I if you enjoy I can write up all the details and matchups.
Mulligan Guide:
Against Warrior: since pirates are still around, ONLY keep shadow word: pain if you have at least one cleric or one potion of madness. Shadow word: pain, alone, is not enough to release the pressure. With coin, Radiant Elemental + power word: shield is also a good play. Keep Acid Swamp Ooze and Crawler, obviously.
Against Druid: mulligan for both potion of madness and cleric. Dont let him fill the board and do not hesitate to use spells to remove low minions. If it is a Jade Druid, it is not an easy matchup, but always keep resource to remove the Auctioner, such as dragonfire potion, or pint-size + cabal or sw: pain.
Against Rogue: To counter quest rogue, you need an early pressure, so you build up a strong body with kabal talonpriest, pw: shield and, then, inner fire. Potion of madness to take off their minions is very important, specially Igneous Elemental. If is a miracle, save SW: Death to remove early van cleef and at least one copy to remove later arcane giant. Keep Crawler against both.
More info later...
Enjoy!
Update:
-1 Crystalline Oracle / +1 Inner Fire
Inner Fire helps with early removals, late game finishers and also a 1 mana spell for for Lyra. That change took me to rank 3 so far
I know shadow horror is garbage, but might as well tech 1 since you have 2 pints.
Why not Gluttonous Ooze instead of Acidic Swamp Ooze, think it overvalues in every way the swamp ooze
Gluttonous Ooze is a good choice also, but, most of the times, what really matters is to remove their weapon, and the armor gained from it does not help in major matches. Also, A 3/2 body for 2 mana plus 1 mana shield is better than a 3/3 body for 3 mana. That's why I still preffer Acid Swamp Ooze, although I am not totally sure about it.
Pint-Size Potion is good in many ways: 1) Against aggro: helps you clear the board without losing your minions; 2) Free spells when combined with Radiant Elemental and Lyra the Sunshard; 3)Take control of bigger minions with Cabal Shadow Priest, such as Ysera, Primordial Drake, Crystal Cored minions and so on...
I actually agree this deck can have some changes. Crystalline Oracle may not be the best choice indeed. I am inserting one Inner Fire instead, and it is working fine.
Thank you for the suggestions
Lyra the Sunshard is already in the deck. You can try Burgly Bully since it is a 5 drop and can build up some coins to boost Lyra's value. Ysera looks fine too.
These are deck keys. If you do not have dust to craft those cards I think it is better you go for another priest archetype, such as silence priest, which can be much less expensive.
Thank you for the question
Hey Xarix, you won't get the same level of results but I'd look at possibly trying...
Cabal Shadow Priest: Dragonfire Potion - Mind Control - Priest of the Feast - Shifting Shade
Pint-Size Potion: Thoughtsteal - Still a spell and grants value in hand instead of board.
These would be my starting points.
