Mulligan for some Murlocs. Acceptable cuties include:
After you have a hand of awesome, play Murlocs. If you end up with a bunch of stuff that isn't low mana, don't worry, you'll probably just win anyway because Murlocs are awesome.
You can get rid of annoying dudes by using Equality along with Consecration. You can also get rid of your own annoying dudes by using Vilefin Inquisitor to change up that Hero Power.
Should do pretty well against most decks, though you may have some trouble with Murloc Shamans and other Paladins who have learned about the dark side.
Mrglglglgl!
Thanks bro for the deck, nice a very solid,
I made 2 changes, that for the moment, keep me wining from 18 to 11, and need 2 win to reach 10 ( hopes get it today)
I take out 1 murloc tide caller for a Equality ( helps a lot if the game goes for very very long and minions start to grow a lot )
I take out 1 stampeding kodo for a Elise the Trailblazer ( I really think that help on late game when you need a surprise card, they never expect this card from a murloc paladin deck)
Edit 1) reach 10, and now targeting for 5 if the time helps
Against secret mage, they have 4 main threats: 2 Kabal Crystal Runners, 2 Ethereal Arcanists. The Runners are easy to deal with while aldor+kodo can be used for the Arcanists. Your aim will be to exhaust their hand of and somewhat control the board until the big dudes like tirion come in. Watch out for steed on spellbender, its a surefire way to cause your own death. In the absolute worst case scenario, you may want to tech eater of secrets.
This deck crushes quest rogues for me, which I assume is the norm for most slower pally decks. Tirion and steeds are major in countering them after crystal core. Push for face early game so you can clutch them with stuff like ashbringer and truesilver. Don't pop igneous elemental but empty their board otherwise.
I didn't meet many Jades while climbing, so I can't really help here.
The sole change I made to this deck was the pull the Stampeding Kodo and add an Equality.
The advantage of this is that, with 2 Consecrates, 1 Primordial Drake and 2 Stonehill Defenders (giving you to opportunity to discover additional Primordial Drakes) you get increased chances for full board clears, which I find to be invaluable in this meta. Especially with this deck, which is slower than the aggro version of the murloc pally deck.
Litteraly 41% of all my matchups in the past 100 games have been mages that run 1 or 2 doomsayers. Kodo is so great to slam down on 5 to take care of a doomsayer for "free". I understand equality does the same thing in a way but you also need either enough dudes on board to get through to the doomsayer or if everything's frozen then you need consecration as well as equality which runs you 6 mana and usually leaves you with a less than desirable board. Taking a chance with kodo having to hit doomsayer through 1 or more qualified 2 attack or less minions has been statistically better for me than just running equality in his spot. It's also nice having kodo with the curator and I find throwing spikeridge on kodo agianst any type of aggro deck is an immediate gg. Sorry for such a long response, I just find this a worthy topic to discuss with this deck. What has been your personal experience so far? Are you seeing many mages?
You bring up a solid point. I had to pull SOMETHING to make room for the Equality and it was a tough choice as to what.
In my case, the situations where I face a Doomsayer AND have the Stampeding Kodo in hand have been few and far between. It's also good against Dirty Rats but, and combines well with Aldor Peacekeeper, but all in all, across most of my matches, I found it was a card I wasn't using much.
What would you pull to make room for an additional Equality?
In my case I replaced Kodo with Spellbreaker. Idk why people kept using Kodo in this deck... Spellbreaker offers way more utility and is way more flexible. Can't tell how many games were won / turned out by having Spellbreaker silencing a buffed minion or a huge taunt to hit face. It also deals with Doomsayers as well.
I know a large part of the reason Kodo is included is because it can be drawn by The Curator. It's about the same case with Primordial Drake. I imagine you could just get rid of the whole Curator package and find other things if you felt that suited you better.
Yeah I went with Kodo 1st because of the Curator synergy but Kodo never helped me as much as Spellbreaker does. Need to remove a key target? Too bad that guy has 3 ATK or more. Aldor then Kodo? Too bad that guy has a powerful deathrattle. Need to get rid of a key minion but your opponent has 2 or more minions? Better pray that Kodo will hit what you want to hit.
While Spellbreaker will just "YOUR MAGIC WILL NOT SAVE YOU!!" anything you want.
I really like the idea of Spellbreaker over Stampeding Kodo. As you point out, it gives you a lot more flexibility and control. Useful in MANY more situations than Kodo.
Actually removed Kodo and Finja for 2 spellbreakers. The amount of Priests is insane, silence does its job on them.
The menagerie package still works since Megasaur is a beast.
In theory I understand this. Finja is a hotly debated inclusion in the murloc pally decks for exactly the reason you stated. In practice, however, Finja has won me a lot of games, so I keep him in.
Finja doesn't really do much without the Bluegills IMO.
Can this deck work without ragnaros lightlord , need serious help . Thank you
Read on another thread Ivory Knight is a good replacement for Ragnaros
Lay on Hands
Absolutely! I don't run lightlord because I don't like having too many late game cards to show up early in the deck. I replaced lightlord with kings, keeper and protector. So far I love protector most of the three.
With two +2 Consecration and +1 Primordial Drake, I do wonder if this deck would benefit from a second Equality just for a little more total board clear. But I can't decide what to remove to add that card. Stampeding Kodo, perhaps? Maybe Finja? I know that card is controversial in murloc decks but it's won me too many games for me to feel comfortable pulling it.
If you want to fit that in, personally I would cut either a truesilver or Finja. I found Finja to be an underwhelming card since most of your murlocs have battlecries you want going off. It's really good when it works, which is why people keep it around, but the majority of the games you play you're better off playing them instead of having them summoned. Alternatively truesilver is probably one of the weaker cards in your deck, so it's safe to cut one if you're running into situations where you need two equalities.
I ended up pulling Stampeding Kodo, which I find to be an underwhelming card, to add the Equality. Fantastic in just the right situations but those situations were too few and far between for me. Truesilver Champion I don't find to be a weak card at all. A healing weapon comes in handy in any number of situations, and this deck functions best when you keep your opponent's board as clear as possible.
As I stated in a response above, I get the theory behind pulling Finja but in practice that little guy has won me a lot of games, perhaps due to my play style, which is more about making good trades than going face, face, face.
Any replacements for [card]Vilefin Inquisitor[/card]s?
