ARCHETYPE EXPLANATION

Murloc Paladin is an aggressive deck that makes use of the Murloc tribal synergy to snowball the board from the early game. The game plan of the Murloc Paladin is to swarm the board with Murlocs in the early game, and buff them up to deal finishing blow.

The deck revolves around the ability of Murloc Warleader and sometimes Finja, the Flying Star to snowball the board during mid-game. Murloc Paladin often aims to take control of the board before pushing for damage, similar to a zoo deck.

Paladin's ability to summon a murloc with its upgraded hero power through Vilefin Inquisitor makes it one of the best class for a Murloc-based deck.

META AND FEATURED DECK

Aggro Murloc Paladin has received some more refinement, as newton managed to reach #3 Legend on NA server with a list that runs Stonehill Defender. Stonehill Defender seems an odd card at first sight, but it serves multiple purposes in the list. It allows other buff minions such as Murloc Warleader and Grimscale Oracle to survive longer, while providing value versus both aggressive and control decks.

The deck also features a previously forgotten Aggro Paladin card, Steward of Darkshire. Steward of Darkshire seems like a natural fit into the deck, as most Murlocs have 1 health, allowing them to gain Divine Shield when played alongside the Steward of Darkshire. The main reason to play the aggressive variant of Murloc Paladin over the more-solid mid-range variant is the Aggro Paladin's matchup versus the dreaded Quest Rogue (if they don't run Doomsayer) and Miracle Rogue. The deck is also favored against other Paladin decks, making it more ideal to play when justice demands retribution.

The speed of games and favorable matchup versus other Paladin earns the Aggro Murloc Paladin a slot in tier 1.
