So I used this deck to reach Legend last season. Really strong in this meta and can beat aggro and outvalue control.
Edit:
OMG I did not expect this to be so popular! Thank you all so much for your support. Thank you for all your kind words, and for commenting. Thank you for your questions, and for your videos. People have even added me ingame to chat with me! Again thank you all so much for the support, it has been amazing!
Mulligan:
So a lot of people look for the Mulligan when they see a deck. Mulligan is a very important skill in Hearthstone and something everyone should focus on. Often try to hard mulligan for the cards you need. Here are some of the cards you should be looking for.
Almost always try to get Fire Fly and Jade Claws. I generally keep Flametongue Totem to keep my opponent from having the early board get out of hand. Generally I throw everything else away.
Maelstrom Portal is good against Pirate Warrior, but you never know if you face Taunt or Pirates. (A good tips: If they hover over their right most card it's generally Pirate Warrior. Taunt Warrior will keep their quest, hence not having a reason to throw it away). I usually don't like keeping Lightning Storm against anything other than Hunter, since Murloc deck often buff their minions higher than 3 health.
Mana Tide Totem can be good against slower deck if you have a playable one and two drop. The same applies to Stonehill Defender, atlhough you can keep this against aggro if you have the one and two drop.
In short word: Always keep Fire Fly and Jade Claws. Generally keep Flametongue Totem. I don't like keeping AOE even against aggro since a lot of the minions have more three or more attack. If you know it is Pirate Warrior it is okay to keep Maelstrom Portal
Key Cards:
This deck has a lot of ways to win (will discuss that later), but here are the key cards/combos.
Doppelgangster + Evolve: This is the main reason I wanted to make this deck. Don't really feel like I need to explain why this is insane. This has just won me games at turn 6.
Stonehill Defender: In my opinion one of the best cards from Journey to Un'goro. Helps you survive against aggro, and gives that value against Control. I won a game against the most greedy Priest deck with a lot of help from this card. Just look at the cards it can discover: Al'Akir the Windlord, Thing from Below, White Eyes and even Stonehill Defender. In some cases Hot Spring Guardian can even be a savior. Also it has synergy with Flametongue Totem against Aggro.
Spirit Echo: This card is INSANE! Can give you back a free Thing from Below, another Aya Blackpaw and Stonehill Defender. This card makes me win against greedy control decks if I can hit good targets. I love it so much that I have considered putting in one more.
Other card choices:
Fire Fly: One of my favorite cards in the whole games. Such a balanced one drop, yet it is used in almost all decks. Early synergy with Flametongue Totem.
Removals: Maelstrom Portal and Lightning storm speaks to itself. They are insane. Hex is also really strong, but know what to use it for. Insanely good against Tirion Fordring and Savannah Highmane. Some of you might be surprised by the inclusion of two Volcanos, but I love them! Basically says remove all your opponents minions(as long as they don't have Deathrattle). Makes you stay alive and do one of your combos. I have won a game by removing my opponent's minions and then played a free Thing from Below combined with Doppelgangster, The Coin and Evolve.
Jade Package: The package isn't big, but it can win games. Has synergy with Evolve. I found it to good to not include.
Cards that didn't make the cut (not finished):
Bloodmage Thalnos: Would be really strong, but I simply didn't find the spot for it. We get spell damage from the Hero Power, but this is one of the cards that I would consider swapping in.
Bloodlust: Is just a dead card most of the time. Sometimes makes you kill your opponent one turn faster, but not worth it. I would not recommend it.
Possible replacements (will add more):
- Master of Evolution -> + Jinyu Waterspeaker if you face a lot of aggro (suggested by Robotically)
Videos showcasing the deck:

really fun deck thank you!
This deck is great. 6-0, lots of fun and easy to play
Having extreme difficulty vs murloc paladin but so far really just seems to be getting shafted by not drawing volcano.
Deck is great fun to play against other control oriented decks and is generally a blast to play. Would highly suggest throwing de-evolve in to counter buffed minions.
I don't have Maelstrom portal so I'm saving for the first wing of karazahn, currently running 1 de-evolve and 1 bloodlust, bloodlust has been clinch in multiple matches but not having that cheap removal hurts.
Has anyone tried running a variation of this with the elemental package?
I've had a LOT of fun playing this deck, but however master of evolution has left me much to be desired. Possibly replace with a devolve to deal with murloc and priest buff decks?
what about big time racketeer? wouldnt that be a strong master of evoution/evolve???
Too expensive, and their isnt anything in deck that would be worth replacing it for.
Ok loving the deck and thought I'd give my feedback on my early time with it. I only have 15 games played so far on NA ranked at rank 12/13. I'm finding this deck wipes the floor with warriors (both pirate and quest). Paladins I laugh at also. Auto gg beat em every time. Interestingly I haven't played a huntard yet with it, nor priest, druid or warlock.
Mage is about 60/40 advantage to the mage. They have too much board clear with all their spells and one mage even counterspelled me TWO secrets in a row (kinda weird don't ever see more than one) in the first six turns and yet they still have the burn to burn your face down with the no healing in the deck.
Rogue. If it's miracle rogue it's pretty easy win. If it's Quest Rogue it's instant lost. Have lost EVERY time as the deck just doesn't have a lotta ooph if you don't get your flametounge totems early. Every QR has completed quest by turn 4 or 5 and it's gg.
So looks like if your facing lots of warriors and paladins this decks fantastic. You start facing mage or lots of QR switch to a deck that better counters those until you start seeing the warriors and paladins again.
Just trie this deck at rank 17, and get to rank 19 right now. Get raped by pirate warriors, Can't beat quest Warriors. You may win against silence Priest if you have a good starting hand. If you don't have the dust to craft the card, don't do it, You will be regret.!
I have not yet lost to a pirate warrior. You need to mulligan hard for portal, stonehill, claws, storm, and it should be pretty easy from there. It is a favorable matchup. Same with Hunter.
Whats your thoughts about adding Hallazeal the Ascended to the deck? I dont have spirit echo so i subbed him in and its been working great. The amount of board clears in the deck make sure you can get off some much needed healing and volcano with him is automatic +15 health!
I would rather tech in a Jinyu Waterspeaker but it would be cool if you could try with Hallazeal. Would love it if you came back later with an update on the card :D
Great Deck, I did however tech in a Jinyu Waterspeaker, swapped out 1x Master of Evolution. Helps alot against aggro for heals.
Sounds like a good replacement if you feel like you need a tech against Aggro. Will add it to the guide
With the meta being flooded with Aggro decks it should work well. Cheers :)
I play a similar deck since jades are out. A devolve is usefull in there ;)
Very much fun to play! Very versatile, never have the same way of winning (but do win usually!). I have the most difficulty with QuestRogue, but still doable to win.
Anyway, LOVE It! Thanks for sharing!
Just trying out the deck, played a priest. He was winning.
He played Bittertide Hydra. I answered with Volcano. That's 24 damage to his face. And it cleared the board. gg!
That's amazing :D hope you continue to be lucky
Just came back to say that this deck worked wonder for me. I won against Quest Rogue; quite a close match though, early game I managed to control the board with Hexes and Volcanoes and then later I was just able to keep up with their tempo (and also surprisingly Spirit Echo won me the game by reviving cost-0 Thing from Below). I also almost won against face hunter, but I got cheap and kept saving Volcano until I took too much face damage and couldn't come back from that.
All in all, had a blast with this deck. Looking forward to keep playing with it on the ladder, and thanks again for posting :)
Oh right, I replaced several minions that I don't currently have:
What's the best targets for Master of Evolution ??
