So I used this deck to reach Legend last season. Really strong in this meta and can beat aggro and outvalue control.
Edit:
OMG I did not expect this to be so popular! Thank you all so much for your support. Thank you for all your kind words, and for commenting. Thank you for your questions, and for your videos. People have even added me ingame to chat with me! Again thank you all so much for the support, it has been amazing!
Mulligan:
So a lot of people look for the Mulligan when they see a deck. Mulligan is a very important skill in Hearthstone and something everyone should focus on. Often try to hard mulligan for the cards you need. Here are some of the cards you should be looking for.
Almost always try to get Fire Fly and Jade Claws. I generally keep Flametongue Totem to keep my opponent from having the early board get out of hand. Generally I throw everything else away.
Maelstrom Portal is good against Pirate Warrior, but you never know if you face Taunt or Pirates. (A good tips: If they hover over their right most card it's generally Pirate Warrior. Taunt Warrior will keep their quest, hence not having a reason to throw it away). I usually don't like keeping Lightning Storm against anything other than Hunter, since Murloc deck often buff their minions higher than 3 health.
Mana Tide Totem can be good against slower deck if you have a playable one and two drop. The same applies to Stonehill Defender, atlhough you can keep this against aggro if you have the one and two drop.
In short word: Always keep Fire Fly and Jade Claws. Generally keep Flametongue Totem. I don't like keeping AOE even against aggro since a lot of the minions have more three or more attack. If you know it is Pirate Warrior it is okay to keep Maelstrom Portal
Key Cards:
This deck has a lot of ways to win (will discuss that later), but here are the key cards/combos.
Doppelgangster + Evolve: This is the main reason I wanted to make this deck. Don't really feel like I need to explain why this is insane. This has just won me games at turn 6.
Stonehill Defender: In my opinion one of the best cards from Journey to Un'goro. Helps you survive against aggro, and gives that value against Control. I won a game against the most greedy Priest deck with a lot of help from this card. Just look at the cards it can discover: Al'Akir the Windlord, Thing from Below, White Eyes and even Stonehill Defender. In some cases Hot Spring Guardian can even be a savior. Also it has synergy with Flametongue Totem against Aggro.
Spirit Echo: This card is INSANE! Can give you back a free Thing from Below, another Aya Blackpaw and Stonehill Defender. This card makes me win against greedy control decks if I can hit good targets. I love it so much that I have considered putting in one more.
Other card choices:
Fire Fly: One of my favorite cards in the whole games. Such a balanced one drop, yet it is used in almost all decks. Early synergy with Flametongue Totem.
Removals: Maelstrom Portal and Lightning storm speaks to itself. They are insane. Hex is also really strong, but know what to use it for. Insanely good against Tirion Fordring and Savannah Highmane. Some of you might be surprised by the inclusion of two Volcanos, but I love them! Basically says remove all your opponents minions(as long as they don't have Deathrattle). Makes you stay alive and do one of your combos. I have won a game by removing my opponent's minions and then played a free Thing from Below combined with Doppelgangster, The Coin and Evolve.
Jade Package: The package isn't big, but it can win games. Has synergy with Evolve. I found it to good to not include.
Cards that didn't make the cut (not finished):
Bloodmage Thalnos: Would be really strong, but I simply didn't find the spot for it. We get spell damage from the Hero Power, but this is one of the cards that I would consider swapping in.
Bloodlust: Is just a dead card most of the time. Sometimes makes you kill your opponent one turn faster, but not worth it. I would not recommend it.
Possible replacements (will add more):
- Master of Evolution -> + Jinyu Waterspeaker if you face a lot of aggro (suggested by Robotically)
Videos showcasing the deck:

Just don't overcommit and gain value with spirit echo and you can win. I don't find the matchup hard.
maybe tech in some ore value but I think it has plenty of it
Sure i am ready for people downvoting this post with stuff like "if your skill suck dont blame the deck" and other sh*t. But! I am pretty confident in this game so far and i know a lot about playing it and reaching high ranks. The trick is when i switch to my other decks (secret mage, beast hunter or any other) i instantly win and get a streak. So its my experience and i do not offend anyone.
My suggestion is to make it little bit versatile (add Jinyu Waterspeaker, add Bloodmage Thalnos for extra spell damage and card draw, remove 1 Volcano and 1 Stonehill Defender).
Very good video! Appreciate it
I tried to run this without Spirit Echo but I got crushed by a priest who discovered an extra copy of dragonfire potion. Is it a must craft? Or is the matchup with priest just bad in general.
For this deck I'd say it is. The most surprising thing I found is that when you cast Doppelgangster each of the 3 dudes that you summon has the card text "Battlecry: Summon 2 copies of this minion". So when you cast Spirit Echo, onto the 3 dudes, you get them back in your hand. Then each time you cast any one of them he creates 2 more.
Spirit Echo is the card that helps you win vs board clears and value/greedy decks. It's so good I have considered putting two versions of it even
I like this deck. Went from Rank 20 to 16 with 13 wins and 5 losses. But since then, I cannot reach Rank 15. I'm 2 wins and 6 losses. So, I'm wondering what little changes I could make. I'm often losing with the opponent with less than 10 health. Bloodlust would have been a good finisher in many games that I lost.
If you feel like bloodlust would help feel free to try it :D
try to change 1 volcano for bloodlust
Hmm played this for a bit, got to 15 actually
Main problem seems to be lack of overload synergy, happened quite a lot that i'm unable to unleash the evolve because of locked mana crystals.
Not sure what will help, Lava Shock used to be a nice comeback after summoning stuff like Earth Elemental (which you often get through Stonehill Defender and end up needing. Lava rotated out though so not sure if Eternal Sentinel could help in that area or we somehow cut down the overload. Cutting off the AoE would ruin this deck though, volcano seems to be a must have.
Anyways my 2 cents, it's a fun deck sure, but it's very difficult to draw right with this setup vs crystal rogue or even miracle priest
I don't exactly remember when I made the deck to ladder but I tried a lot of different cards. This was my final version, and I have never watched Hotform play this deck, in fact I don't watch his stream It is similar but I don't know who was first and I definetely did not copy his list. I think I will add something to the guide bout the similarities but if i copied I would have credited him. I have posted decklists from Thijs before, but then I tagged him as the author
edit: grammar
This misses some draw imo, does it not?
Mana tide is enough draw
Have been playing a very similar deck the past few days. between ranks 11-15; I feel it's far too inconsistent to really do much better (this time of the season).
Differences in my deck:
Upon coming across your deck, I did try it with 1 Master of Evolution and 1 Jinyu aswell as your list verbatim. I just found the Master of Evolution to quite lacklustre in terms of the impact (consistently) it has on current board state and far too often found myself evolving a totem. Replacing 1 of them with 1 Devolve is far stronger.
If you don't draw claws / stonehill before Turn 5, it's most likely going to result in a loss; meanwhile damage taken to the face has put a large enough dent that the opponent is now thinking about how to finish the game off. It's this change in the opponents mindset which really fucks this deck over. I found that a Jinyu Waterspeaker is far more valuable than a Master of Evolution ESPECIALLY if you manage to spirit echo it, it's also a stickier minion which nearly always hangs around to the next turn.
I'm currently trying to fix (what i believe to be) the biggest issue with this deck; that being, having very little mid-game AND getting steamrolled in turns 1-5... especially when the opponent is playing a more reactive style game and not pushing minions to board given all I have out there are some totem and their health is 25-30. Therefore making all the AoE in the World useless.
I'm thinking about:
Might even be better to remove the Jade Lightnings and use 2x Jade Spirits instead.
Thanks for the long analysis. For me Jade Lightning has been such an important card in a lot of matches. Jinyu Waterspeaker is great for heal and I'm arguing myself if it is right teching one Master of Evolution out for it. Volcano has just been to important of a card and I think it is one of the most underrated cards from the Expansion. Thanks again for the analysis and definitely something to think about when making the deck
Great Deck in theory, but I didn't got the job done so far. To much Quest Rogues which went of by turn three-five. Or the evolved Gangsters got burnt away by Dragonfire immediately :-(
Couldn't figured out yet the correct mindset to play the deck properly (Spent 200+ Games to play elemental Jade Shami, so I'm pretty much focused on this archetype and change a deck takes me about 20+ Games to get into it).
I tried either Bloodlust and Spirit Echoes, and both have their upside downs. Both are poor when you waited a turn to long and your board got wiped out. But I personaly prefer Bloodlust. Even if you can't kill your opponent with it on the spot, but should pull the trigger with 3+ minions on board to have 10+ DMG set and have him in the red zone of HP. Or close the bag one turn earlier before he can wipe your board.
Spirit Echoes is pure value if you manage to hit the right targets (I'm looking at you white eyes).
But thank you for posting this cool opportunity to enjoy shaman in another way.
Thank you for commenting :D Yeah, this deck can have a hard time against Quest Rogues. I still don't think the matchup is that bad that you can't ladder with it (I know you didn't say that) since it is winnable, and there are a lot less Quest Rogues than the start.
Against Dragonfire Potion and similar cards you have to play correctly around it, and sometimes that is very difficult. That's why I love the other cards like Stonehill Defender, Spirit Echo and Thing from Below since it gives you more win conditions. You should generally not overcomitt against Priest unless you have to.
Thanks again for your analysis and kind words, I appreciate it :D
Deck blows. 2-5 so far. /end thread
