Just a fun C'thun deck i made, pretty good in the meta vs aggro decks
Stonehill defender is a card i am thinking about adding.
Only a few cards from Gadgetzan none from un'goro, so should be quite cheap for players who have been around for the last few expansions.
Thanks for taking a look :)
Wow you guys really liked the deck! Thanks! So as promised here's a full write up :)
General Mulligan Tips:
- War Axe, every warrior is looking for this, always look for a copy
- Beckoner of Evil, you want to get C'thun to a 10/10 ASAP so i recommend keeping her
- The rest of what you want is decided by the match up
Druid:
Aggro
- Keep War Axe, it's very good vs anything your opponent may coin/innervate out
- Again vs aggro you want some early board presence so Beckoner or Brewmaster will do fine
- Keeping the Disciple is not to bad if on coin, but Ravaging Goul is just better
- You are just looking to survive in this matchup till turn 5, when you can brawl the board
- This matchup heavily favours you, especially if you can get those brawls
Jade
- Minions- jade druid hates minions, so keep a curve to pressure your opponent
- This matchup is a lot harder to predict sometimes you can overwhelm them before they can get their jades going
- Pressure is the main thing, even if your veck'lor and shieldbearers' aren't active just dropping them can help
Warrior
Pirates
- Same as aggro druid, survive until you get to the mid game
Quest
- Plays out similar to Jade druid, sometimes you'll have enough to wear them down sometime you won't
- Get your minions down, that's my advice
- If they dirty rat c'thun don't fuss you can bring him back later plus you just got a 6/6 on the board at worst
Mage
Burn/Freeze
- I have no idea what the difference is between all these mages they seem like the same to me
- Simply mulligan for a curve
- Apply pressure
- Gain armour, sometimes it's beyond their reach and you can just brawl their minions away (especially if their are running the Medihv version)
- C'thun can pop their block in a single turn
Paladin
Aggro
- See aggro druid, the match up is the same
- Don't let them have a big board for sun keeper or megasaur
Mid-range
- Play it like the old control match ups, go toe-to-toe with your opponent
- So look for a curve in your mulligan, acolyte of pain is good here for the draw
- Be aware that they might run stat changing cards like Aldor
- This match up is made harder y the fact that they can discover Tarim over and over, so try to end things early
Rogue
Quest
- Minions, find them, play them on curve, pressure= win
- This deck was actually a lot better than i thought it would be vs quest rogue
Miracle
- Once again look for that axe
- Try an force initiative by playing minions for your opponent to deal with, sap will only make c'thun stronger or give you 10 more armour
- Stay out of burst range
- Shield slams/exe will get rid of cards such as giants and auctioneers
Hunter
- Wax axe once again, ravaging goul, slam, acolyte
- Plays a lot like the matchup did before the COW nerf
- Now that COW sees little play you are actually favoured, manage the board and take care of your health
- Never leave a hyena on the board, they're nasty
Shaman
Elemental
- It's hard, but doable
- Lots of pressure is needed, so look for those early minions
- Be careful of hex
- Play around bloodlust, many lists are running it now
Priest
- I didn't face a single priest
- i'm going to assume they are favoured, with ability to dig for removal and Lyra RNG
- If its dragon they'll probably steal your c'thun and doomcaller so yeah not the best match up
Warlock
ZOO?
- Play it like you would vs aggro druid
- Brawl when the board is too big, then watch your opponent concede
I thought that rotation is going on every expansion release and the next rotation is like in 3-4 months.
I needed this, since every other Warrior deck right now is quest-based. One thing, though... Is this deck wallet-optimized? Were you limited by your own collection at all, or is this just about as strong as it can get? Just wondering if there are a few legendary cards that might be worth using; stuff like The Black Knight because of all the taunt right now, or really anything else. Thanks!
Why the youthful brewmaster? It doesn't seem to fit in. Or am I missing some big combo?
I've also used it to bounce back ravaging ghoul to clear out a board of 2 health minions and get more draws from acolyte.
I beat a control mage by bouncing my Ancient Shieldbearer
