Just a fun C'thun deck i made, pretty good in the meta vs aggro decks
Stonehill defender is a card i am thinking about adding.
Only a few cards from Gadgetzan none from un'goro, so should be quite cheap for players who have been around for the last few expansions.
Thanks for taking a look :)
Wow you guys really liked the deck! Thanks! So as promised here's a full write up :)
General Mulligan Tips:
- War Axe, every warrior is looking for this, always look for a copy
- Beckoner of Evil, you want to get C'thun to a 10/10 ASAP so i recommend keeping her
- The rest of what you want is decided by the match up
Druid:
Aggro
- Keep War Axe, it's very good vs anything your opponent may coin/innervate out
- Again vs aggro you want some early board presence so Beckoner or Brewmaster will do fine
- Keeping the Disciple is not to bad if on coin, but Ravaging Goul is just better
- You are just looking to survive in this matchup till turn 5, when you can brawl the board
- This matchup heavily favours you, especially if you can get those brawls
Jade
- Minions- jade druid hates minions, so keep a curve to pressure your opponent
- This matchup is a lot harder to predict sometimes you can overwhelm them before they can get their jades going
- Pressure is the main thing, even if your veck'lor and shieldbearers' aren't active just dropping them can help
Warrior
Pirates
- Same as aggro druid, survive until you get to the mid game
Quest
- Plays out similar to Jade druid, sometimes you'll have enough to wear them down sometime you won't
- Get your minions down, that's my advice
- If they dirty rat c'thun don't fuss you can bring him back later plus you just got a 6/6 on the board at worst
Mage
Burn/Freeze
- I have no idea what the difference is between all these mages they seem like the same to me
- Simply mulligan for a curve
- Apply pressure
- Gain armour, sometimes it's beyond their reach and you can just brawl their minions away (especially if their are running the Medihv version)
- C'thun can pop their block in a single turn
Paladin
Aggro
- See aggro druid, the match up is the same
- Don't let them have a big board for sun keeper or megasaur
Mid-range
- Play it like the old control match ups, go toe-to-toe with your opponent
- So look for a curve in your mulligan, acolyte of pain is good here for the draw
- Be aware that they might run stat changing cards like Aldor
- This match up is made harder y the fact that they can discover Tarim over and over, so try to end things early
Rogue
Quest
- Minions, find them, play them on curve, pressure= win
- This deck was actually a lot better than i thought it would be vs quest rogue
Miracle
- Once again look for that axe
- Try an force initiative by playing minions for your opponent to deal with, sap will only make c'thun stronger or give you 10 more armour
- Stay out of burst range
- Shield slams/exe will get rid of cards such as giants and auctioneers
Hunter
- Wax axe once again, ravaging goul, slam, acolyte
- Plays a lot like the matchup did before the COW nerf
- Now that COW sees little play you are actually favoured, manage the board and take care of your health
- Never leave a hyena on the board, they're nasty
Shaman
Elemental
- It's hard, but doable
- Lots of pressure is needed, so look for those early minions
- Be careful of hex
- Play around bloodlust, many lists are running it now
Priest
- I didn't face a single priest
- i'm going to assume they are favoured, with ability to dig for removal and Lyra RNG
- If its dragon they'll probably steal your c'thun and doomcaller so yeah not the best match up
Warlock
ZOO?
- Play it like you would vs aggro druid
- Brawl when the board is too big, then watch your opponent concede
Oh I see this was why I constantly start to face with C'thun warriors tho it is easy to win against this deck.
why would you even play C'thun when you can ust play quest warrior? i mean, the result is practically the same, except one runs a bunch of taunts and the other runs some crappy c'thun minions. I can't evenr eally make an argumetn for vek'lor anymore, since piling on-curve taunts is just better against aggro + Quest warrior has more space for removal.
the only real argument here is the ancient shieldbearer and its armor gain, but that only really works vs burn mages...
Brewmasters are completely useless in this deck. Replace them with Alexstrasza and Dirty Rat.
I don't see how they are completely useless in this deck. For me they have won me games and I notice myself using them for big plays most of the time, but I can see why you would say that since not every game they come into play and I wish i had another 2 drop in hand
I´d say C´thun is back! went instant 4:1 on Rank 5 :) beating two Murlocadin, a Freeze Mage and even one Midrange Hunter.
Added two Stonehill Defender for one Brewmaster and one Acolyte, because I like them just too much :P
The deck if from like 3 metas ago wtf
1-4 with this deck... shit sucks lol
Its not a bad deck. It just doesn't fit this meta because pretty much every deck is aggro.
THIS deck is an anti-aggro deck - Gosh.
Not sure why my comment got downvotes when it's pretty much true. :)
Doing nicely for me on the ladder although I tend to get stuck on the same rank for a couple of hours. I did replace both Acolytes with Stonehill Defender's, really don't need the draw as most of what I'm facing is aggro.
Win percentage was high initially but it started to go towards the 50's as I get closer to rank 5. Here are my current stats from Rank 10 to Rank 6:
it is kinda nice to see C`Thun around again i +1 for that :D
I'm having a good time with the list, I just cant seem to beat Aggro Pally. I try to keep the board clear but I just cant ever find enough answers. I might take out the Brewmasters for Doomsayers
So you are saying you don`t need new cards to stay competitive? Don`t tell that reddit! ;)
So after getting crushed by a midrange hunter I took down 4 kinda easy wins, deck is therefore running still running good I would say.

This is year of kraken ?
C'Thun decks just do not work...
Any alternatives for Vek'lor?
