BRM Strategy

Mulligan Guide: This is an extremely difficult encounter with three phases.  With this deck our goal is to kill Nefarian in the first phase before he can even progress to the next one. As long as you can buff a minion to at least 31 Attack, then you can complete a one-turn kill. You must be careful how much damage you are doing to him and make sure you do NOT break his Armor, or phase two will begin immediately. Lightwell is good to start with because it will usually be ignored.  Also, Explosive Sheep does a great job of keeping the board clear in the early game before you have a chance to establish your huge minion that will ultimately kill Nefarian.

Probably the most challenging aspect of this fight is dealing with his Bone Constructs because they are cheap for him to play and can kill nearly anything on the board. This is why Explosive Sheep is so good, because otherwise you have to wait until turn five to cast Holy Nova in order to deal with them.  From experience, if you have to wait that long, it's probably going to be too late.

The Hozen Healer does an excellent job of keeping your big minion alive, especially if it's a Taunt. You'll find that the Holy Champions are amazing in this deck because they can get huge and continue to increase in Attack power without needing the Inner Fire piece of the combo. Normally I don't like Coldlight Oracle, but along with Loot Hoarder they both help draw into all of your combo pieces required for the deck to work.

You'll want to really be careful about when you play the minion you plan on developing. If it's a Deathlord and you aren't sure if you can keep it alive for a turn, then you probably want to wait, if that's an option. There's nothing more frustrating than starting to buff a minion only to have it be destroyed. It's not impossible to go through all of the phases for this encounter with this deck, but it would be extremely difficult and need serious deck adjustments in order to be successful.

BRM Deck Notes

I don't have any card swap suggestions for this deck because it is very specific in design and won't work very well if you alter it. If you would like to try another approach and see something that isn't a combo deck and goes through all the phases, then you should check out one of the decks below.
