Heroic Anub'Rekhan's Priest

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first Naxxramas Heroic Guide. My name is MrPLJ and today I am going to help you defeat the Arachnid Quarters with a fun to play budget Priest deck. I've always found that class underrated and fun to play with (thanks to Amaz for making it increasingly popular) and with the solo adventure, you can unleash some very harsh combos on the bosses. So let's get right into it!

Defeating Anub'Rekhan is a difficult task on a budget, casual players usually have a scarce amount of Epics and even fewer Legendaries. Combing the likes of Alexstraza to drop the boss' HP to 15 or use an Archmage Antonidas to get unlimited Fireballs seems unreachable. So I will use all but Epics and Legendaries.

Defeating Anub'Rehkan with a Priest deck is a fun match-up, you want to hold the board against his horde of Nerubians and beat him to a pulp. To do this, you want to heal your minions as much as possible to make them last longer. This will take more than one try, but it is entirely realisable.

The Strategy

1. You want to mulligan for Injured Blademater, Lightwell and Circle of Healing to gain an early board presence. Lightwell is quite nice as it will heal your hero every turn, giving you more time to prepare an offensive strike.
2. Only use Northshire Cleric to draw cards on the turn you play her. Anub'Rehkan as a couple of Frostbolts up his sleeves, at least 3 Locust Swarm and he will attack them with his Nerubians.
3. As you reach Mid-game, you can use your Auchenai Soulpriest with a Circle of Healing to destroy the board. Plus if you have one or two Nerubian Eggs you get a really nice board presence.
4. Talking of Nerubian Eggs try to make sure you have one or two on the field on or before turn 7, as that is when Anub'Rehkan will start to use Locus Swarm, which means they will pop!
5. Twilight Drake+Defender of Argus and Sunwalker help you maintain board control whilst protecting your face from Anub'Rehkan's minions. The great thing about Sunwalker is that he usually trades 3-to-1!
6. One thing about Lightwell is its 0 attack stat, making it a great target for the Crazed Alchemist tucked somewhere in Anub'Rehkan's deck. So if you have an Inner Fire and Divine Spirit, use them!
7. Finally, you can combo 2 Divine Spirits and an Inner Fire on a Twilight Drake, a healed Injured Blademaster or a Lightwell for some great burst damage/wall! Give it a try!

WARNING: This match is quite hard, and may require a couple of play throughs. You sometimes have a very bad starting hand or Anub'Rekhan seems to have all the answers at hand. Be patient and you will get him.
