sorry guys for post this so late , guide will be here after holidays :)
Just tried out a version of this deck, and it is SO FUN! Probably the most fun deck I've played so far in Un'Goro. (As many have said, Stonehill is really good in this deck.)
I went from rank 15 to 10 with slightly changed version of this deck (I didn't have Sunkeeper Tarim, which is pretty much vital, but it turns out that there is pretty high chance for getting him and other Paladin taunt legendaries from Stonehill Defender, so I replaced Tarim and one Roc with 2x Stonehill) and my overall stats were about 20w/7l (I'm not counting few losses that occured because I was disconnected from Battlenet even before mulligans and couldn't reconnect to the game - I lost 2-3 times because of that).
During my climb I didn't find many Taunt Warriors, but they weren't too big of a problem - Hydrologist is awesome in this matchup for resurrecting Tirions or getting Tarims/Stonehills back to hand for more value. Quite a few games I played against Midrange Hunter, and in this matchup if you can answer their biggest threats (mainly Hyenas and Highmanes) it's rather straightforward. I also defeated one oddball Purify Priest, but it was mainly his fault - he went all-in with his minions on board and got punished by Pyro+Equality. But what is the most awesome about this deck? I faced (heh) 6 Pirate Warriors and DEFEATED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Spikeridged Steed on leftover minion on turn 6 followed up by another one or Forbidden Healing turns out to be pretty soul crushing for them. My only losses were 1x Paladin Mirror (Midrange Murloc version).1x Elemental Shaman with Bloodlust, 2x Quest Rogue, 1x Arcane Giant Miracle Rogue, 1x "Miracle" Priest with Lyra and 1x Midrange Hunter (with HUUUUUGE Hyena).
What i'm trying to say here is that THIS ARCHETYPE IS AWESOME AND HEALTHY FOF THE META, AND I LOVE IT!
Climbed from Rank 15 to 10 with only 1 loss.. this deck is insane in this Meta.
I only lost to Pirate Warrior due to a bad draw.
I took out one Acolyte for Stonehill. I am finding trouble for another Stonehill in this deck. What'd you take out?
good deck, but can not beat Task Warrior
what should mulligan against hunters?? they are really big problem for me
i went 16-1 with this deck so far. i have changed forbidden healings
One healing
Not sure that you need Eater of Secrets for countering Mages. All you need against it is to find Eye for an Eye from Hydrologist, put Mage's health down to 1 HP and then play this secret. This will be a checkmate for Mage an guarantees you at least a draw game.
This deck is amazing, I believe I will be playing this one A LOT this expansion, it is incredibly fun and gives you a lot of options against other decks. I am missing Ragnaros, Lightlord and it may be just time to craft him.
He's a GREAT pally minion. If you play lots of palaldin I'd highly recommend him.
Wow, this deck is so,,,fresh. I mean, Gadgedzan was all about agro and midrange and I was so bored of playing vs all those warriors and shamans. This deck feels like I'm in vanila HS or Nax one. It requires some time to get used to and understand the deck itself, but it worth it 100%. I thought about replasing Elise, because I didnt have her, but I though that I dont mind the dust so why not, and she is very good, not great, not the Dr. 5, but she won me a few games and every time you open a pack you recieve 5 cards which cant be bad even if you get like 3\5 trash cards.
Overall, I dont lose vs hunters and almost always win against taunt warriors, the rogue is something like 50\50, very draw-dependent (both you and your opponent). mage is beeing destroyed because of 40 health healing and Ragnaros. Turns out it might be one of the strongest deck in ladder ATM.
Was elise worth it? Because this deck has no draw cards
I love heavy control decks and this is just that. There is a lot of skill that goes into playing a deck like this and that's a lot of fun to me. Is it on the same power level as most quest decks? Probably not. But it's probably Tier 3 at least.
I really wonder how you win against taunt war, I end up being grinded by Ragnaros' hero power ever single game.
I don't think I ever won 1 against Taunt War at rank 5-6.
This matchup seems very easy to me. More to it according to my hs tracker I won 5 out of 5 taunt warrior games. The thing is you need to be aggressive in this game. When I get to the second phase I just start swinging my weapons to his face while maximizing the equality combo.
I'll try, I guess I play too defensively.
I also swapped both forbidden healing with Ivory Knight for more pressure.
Thanks for the tip. :)
How well works Vinecleaver in this deck?
