Say it with me......SPELL PRIEST
This deck is remarkably effective. There is great value in every minion, You are always playing with a hand full of answers. The radiant elemental is a must kill, so is the priest of the feast, so is lyra. The tortoise is a nice stall and provides a handy buff along with talon priest, along with power word shield.
Potions of madness infuriate the deathrattle decks. While the Mind Controls take the taunt warriors end game from him. Holy novas clean the board of pirates beast and elementals and the shadow words keep everything under control.
Then you get down to business, which is stealing cards, stealing minions and stealing the opponents sanity.
Yeah, that's right, Medivh is in the deck. With 2 mind control and a free from amber in the deck, he better be in there.
Once Lyra is working her magic you will have trouble staying at below 10 cards at the end of your turn. That is what's known as a nice problem to have.
If you happen to get lyra out with a radiant elemental or two and a priest of the feast, well the opponent usually concedes out of awe at all the cards flying around.
I have not ventured into ranked with this yet, but I will do it soon. OG priest players will have sooo much fun with this deck.
UPDATE: This deck has worked way beyond expecations. I have gone from Rank 15 to rank 5 in 2 days. Only 4 losses in all of the games.
It has beaten every common meta archetype plus anything else in front of me. So far my worst matchup is sunkeeper paladin, 1-1 against that one.
Love your deck I went from rank 18 to 5.
I like this priest deck it one works very well against most deck types. I only swap one Cabal Shadow Priest for a Dirty Rat. This gives me at least chance against quest rogue.
I like the deck.
So far I have average success with it - but Im an average player :)
My changes to it:
- Shadow Visions
+ Pint-Size Potion
Cause I really like to get more benefit from Cabal Shadow Priest, Potion of Madness and Shadow Word Pain
- Thoughtsteal × 2
+ Divine Spirit x 2
This keeps Lyra longer on my board while triggering it.
Probably a noobie change :) ... but seems to work well for me.
Thoughtsteel to often filled my hand with useless cards.
This is a solid deck, but I swapped out the Mind Controls for Dragonfire Potion and Pint-Sized potion. Dragonfire to deal with Quest Rogues better and the pint... well with 2 Cabal Shadows Priests and Lyra, it's a no-brainer.
1 game vs jade druid - won
2 game vs van cleef rogue - lost due to bad card rng
3 game vs murloc druid - won
4 game vs quest rogue ( he had no idea what he was doing) - won
5 game vs face hunter - lost
6 game vs face hunter - lost
7 game vs face hunter (gg blizz) - lost
8 game vs quest rogue - lost
----- gave up
I crafted Lyra the Sunshard so I can play this deck! I HOPE she is not a waste of dust, but I have been hearing good things about the card :)
It will be fun to play a different type of priest...since the dragons have been so common for a long time now.
Pretty solid deck, found myself relying on draws a bit more than I would like. Had a rough run last night going 3-7 while learning the deck, however turned that around this morning going 8-1. Overall between ranks 15-10 I have not lost a game to Quest Warrior yet (played 4) with the addition of 2 Kabal Songstealers since i dont have Cabal Shadow Priests.
Waiting a few weeks before crafting anything I'm missing so I'm playing without Shadow visions, I included a Dragonfire Potion instead
It's fun deck to play, Medivh and the high cost spells lead to some fun late game options.
- 2 Cabal Shadow Priest
- Holy Nova
- Shadow Visions
+ 2 Kabal Songstealer
+ 2 Dragonfire Potion
You forgot to mention how you deal with Handlock, which will be a real contender in the meta IMO. That's 4 big health creatures with 4 attack: 2 drakes and 2 humongous (same goes for Silence Priest). Without equality (lol) or big hitters, I can't see how you can deal with that.
It's look nice, but can You explain a bit about muligan?
I think it's most important in such deck. I dont know if I should play Cleric just in turn1 or should i keep here for draw. Same with Radiant Elemental.
Give some tips pls You focus on board control and they with Lyra u are trying to get as much as possible spells or how u win with this?
Greetings
Thanks for answer
Just went 10-1 with this deck from rank 13 to 9. Was stuck between ranks 11-14 using miracle and silence priests. I did replace one mind control for a pint-sized potion which helped me get better value from Lyra and won me two games against rogues. I did not expect this deck to do this well but everything works together quite well.
Good job on this deck.
So far I have progressed from rank 15 to 8 with only two losses. Hit my gold limit for today and am a bit tired but I posted a thread in the priest forum about my experience so far. This deck is one of the most fun I have every played.
I like the look of this. Comment how is goes on ladder
8-3, now rank 3
8-3, now rank 3
