This is the deck that ive been runing since the launch of the expansion , it has some really good sinergies that might make people question its viability so i will explain some of the cards now:
Firefly: this card is probably one of the biggest reasons ive been so sucesfull with this deck , it just crushes quest hunters and pirate warriors, and it makes sherazin super easy to ressurect
Farseer: even though taunts seens to work better in the meta, the 3 drop slot must be fullfiled and it also sinergises with xaril
Razorpetals : they ara insane with sherazin , cicle auctioner with the coins, overall the 2 drop rogue allways needed
Biteweed : sinergizes with the petals, not worth runing two since it will clog your hand
Edit : il explain now the mulligan and give some tips
your normal mulligan against any deck that isnt aggro is going to be for sherazin or xaril , these 2 cards, specially sherazin are the turnaround point of the deck, xaril is going to do the job of tomb pillager to give you some spells to cicle your auctioner or give you some combo shenanigans (wich this deck runs a lot of) and sherazin will be your grinding card, usually reviving sherazin 2 or 3 times is childs play with this deck, if you have one of those, try geting razorpetal, Si7s and backstab.
against aggro your best choice is allways si7 since it turns the board very easily specially with backstab and fireflies, fireflies contest most of the 1 drops used by hunter and warrior(wich are the currently most used aggro classes) and even against murlocs(i dont see murloc decks very often, but its usually a very easy matchup), your goal in these matchups are not survive, if u just keep playing defensively you are going to lose, you should try tempo swing plays all the time, a common example: firefly on board, patches and nzoths first mate on board, if you have a cold blood on hand that can be used at the same time as you remove their minions, go for it, if they remove it its ok , less damage to your face and they need to spend time doing defensive plays
against control(no one is playing it but anyway) if u have an actioner and ur early game, ur preety much done, this deck crushes control , its not even funny.
i think thats all for now, any suggestion are accepted on the coments, im currently rank 5 with the deck having some struggle with mage(allways was rogue counter anyway), Enjoy have fun.
Edit: now that the meta has been kinda settled, i felt that the deck needed some changes, and after a lot of modifications , by my experience as a rogue player , and suggestions in the coments i tried and succed with this new version
replaacement for xaril?
Argus or sunfury if facing a lot of pirates since you can taunt your fireflies and mimic pod if you feel like you are not cicling enough
"sherazin or xaril , these 2 cards, specially sherazin are the turnaround point of the deck, xaril is going to do the job"
= Barnes ??!?
IM not sure if i get ur coment but if ur suggesting to use barnes, its not worth it , there are too many bad targets for him in the deck and it would not acomplish what the deck needs
Shadowcaster is too greedy for this meta , if u want to swap caril put the igneous elemental , and try fiting the 3/5 4 mana taunt divine shield that sinergizes with elementals, you are going to have a easier time with the deck overall, already tested it, if you are facing a huge amount of aggro you can run tar creeper and it will be fine
Why not a Shadowstep tô increase Leeroy burst? Can be useful in a lotta ways...
already tried, clogs your hand a lot trust me, and xaril gives the shadowstep toxin sometimes
Here's my version, will try yours, lets make a better deck together :) just hit rank 5 so I'm free to experiment
Great minds think alike, we started the same way and came up with a similar name. I would appreciate you trying some of the elements I'm using and share your thoughts
interesting, holds a lot of value , but dont you struggle against aggro without backstabs and mimic pod is enough "cicle"
If we are talking aggro in general, no, mulligan for tar creepers, fan of knives, preparation, that usually does the job. Pirate warrior is another cookie, some weapon hate is what I need against that deck to improve my winrate. I just honestly think that backstab is quite weak in the current meta.
After trying your variant I got caught up in quite a bit of situations where cards in my hand lost value or were situational for Sherazin, so maybe that's something you could improve upon. It could also be just my inexperience with miracle rogue though. I would recommend you try out hallucination in your deck, not sure what you should replace it with, but I would guess firefly - that card seemed a bit weak during my time playing with the deck, as it just didn't build enough pressure - you can effectively play 2 cards with hallucination too and the result might often be better than a 2/4 stat investment.
il definitely try allucination them but not changing fireflies , it might be a point of view since matchups are random but fireflies are the card that keept saving my ass in rank 5, i met 4 zoos in a row and the ability to contest villager and combos were helping me to secure a safe position
Really cool! I build a similar deck experimenting also with Arcane Giants and Evolved Kobold (1 mana 3 dmg petal is fun!).
did it work without being too greedy? if it did il try spell damage rogue
I am still trying different cards atm.
- I tried without Leeroy and this was a mistake. I tried some pods and hallucinations instead. But I just need a charge to burst my opponent out of nothing and utilize my cold bloods.
- The Kobalts and Bloodmage seem to work well with the petals. They become nice mid-game removal at 3 dmg and work with auctioneer. I even kill people with them ;) I would really like to know how successful spell dmg is for others!
- I am also experimenting with Master of Disguise. I know it is bad compared to conceal. But it can really up the chances to keep one big dude alive and burst away
* My most difficult matchup is freeze mage. I really have to burst them down really quick, but often I am stuck with a hand that is too full ;) Any tips on the freeze mage matchup?
* I am thinking about testing the water package (Warriors, Warleaders and Finja). I really could use the burst. I am thinking about giving up the giants, they have not worked out so well for me since the opponent has a turn to react to them.
firefly contests warrior and hunter early board very easily since they all have 1 hp , usually against aggro you can just drop 2 fireflies and contest the early board with the help of your spells, and against some slower decks firefly together with the petals makes it super super easy to bring back sherazin
Yea I have that some of the time also. Im am still experimenting with when to keep or use your low cost spells. I also run 2 Fan of Knives for some more value when removing aggro units.
1 one game or another you will run out of cards with rogue, its natural, even the older miracle rogue had this problem , but if its happening super often with you with this deck them u might be doing something wrong, usually the only matchup u might run out of cards is aggro and if it happens them ur usually very far ahead on board if u played ur cards right
Any room for Arcane Giants?
o would swap one vinepine and 1 sap, might work well , i didnt do it because i felt that having 3 win conditions seemed too greedy(leeroy or sherazin and sherazin)
Leeroy is absolutely necessary, its your bread and butter against the quest rogue dominating the meta and some of the hipsters out the playing control decks
