Thanks for frontpage! It means alot to me!
Intro:
Hey Guys!
After the latest evergreen nerfs I decided to bring this Deck back.
And. It works amazingly.
KOFT cards are totally in favor of this playstyle. With Lich King, Bonemare and Ultimate Infestation we have great card additions for this deck.
I'm still trying new things, but the current list makes a good game right now.
Adding Doomsayer to this deck was a great choice to survive the early game and come out on top of the mid turns.
So.
What can you prepare for?
I'll show you:
Okay.
Fun aside. I won't lie to you.
You won't finish the quest every game. Peroid.
Sometimes you loose before it, sometimes you win before it.
At this point I do not recommend spending lots of dust for this deck. It's not easy to play, it's not meta and you really need a good draw against aggro.
Mulligans:
General: Jungle Giants, JWrath, Wild Growth, Ancient Longneck, Mire keeper
Vs Aggro: Doomsayer, Wrath, WIld Growth
Vs Control: Elder Longneck, Mire Keeper, Wild Growth, Wrath
+ Always keep the quest
Card Replacements:
Alexstrasza = Deathwing (Not Recommended)
The Lich King = Ancient of War
Tyrantus = Soggoth the Slitherer (Any strong lategame Minion)
-1 Doomsayer = +1 Skulking Geist
-1 Doomsayer = +1 Spellbreaker
First Turns you don't play the quest:
- Coin + Wild Growth
- Coin + Doomsayer (Against Turn 1 Alley Cat, to avoid a buffed hyena)
Strategy:
In general, build up as much tempo as possible and delay the game.
The most trickiest part of this deck are probably turn 1-4.
After that drop as much as possible and trade as much as you can.
Don't feel bad if you trade your 5 atk minions against 3/2 minions in early. You got enough of them.
In turn 5, the game plays itself. You should be at 2/5 quest progress atleast - followed by a menagerie warden on turn 6 for 4/5.
This means the quest should be finished in turn 7, or 8.
Try to keep your card draw on your hand and use it after playing Barnabus.
Barnabus + Nourish (3 Cards), possibly drawing curator for another 2 card murloc, creates an unstoppable chain reaction, that usually ends up with a Tyrantus (often multiplied by menagerie warden) and an instant finish in combination with alexstraza.
Most important: Take time. Really. Don't rush the face when ever you can. If you are about to finish the quest, don't start using all of your remaining bodies to hit the face.
Control the board and take it down slowly.
The only thing that can stop you at this point while having a vital health pool are Brawl and Twisting Nether. Maybe Sheep transform kazakus potion.
But aslong you have cards in your deck, you're good to go.
Match-Ups:
(WIP)
I have all the cards in this set except for Alexstrasza nor Deathwing is Ysera a good replacement?
I have been playing only this deck since the expansion went out, I was spending hours and hours trying to balance it. I feel like something else is needed. But is amazing. At the moment I'm running kind of the same ramp deck but with: Tyrantus Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound and Ysera and it's not bad at all.
I really wanted to thank you for the update. Let us know if you see a pro player card list. Bye!
Hi there. What about mill version with oracles, mukla and naturalise? Somebody make it?
Took some inspiration from the deck and crafted my own version as I liked yours but felt it lacked a few things to maybe help the deck win more consistently by drawing more big minions more consistently.
Mine runs Hemet in order to help my draws in the the late game as I haven't found a good reason to want to draw Wrath or Wild Growth except on a few occasions. I also run Cenarius as he turns out to be a powerful burst finisher on a stealth minion or two or is just good at providing a big body with some cheap taunts. Needs more work but I think its getting there.
Worst Deck ever.
Went 0:5
If you are running the Curator have you considered playing a single copy of Coldlight Oracle? I've had some highly amusing Barnabus -> Curator, draw Oracle, a beast, and a dragon, play oracle, 2 more cards drawn.
I'd recommend working in Fandral and his ilk. Also Celestial Dreamer makes proc-ing the quest very cheap and provides very strong board presence for cheap. (3 mana 5/5).
I'd get rid of one of the Warden's it's excessive and is congestive in a deck that has a big curve.
Also the Tort Foragers are HORRIBLE. The level of RNG on what they draw is usually unplayable and has no synergy with Barnabus. Get rid of those for more control or deck cycle.
From my attempts with barnabus druid. Celestial dreamer was often a dead card because you need to have a minion already on board and the only other low cost minions are Elder Longneck or Shellshifter. Making use of its low cost is pretty hard.
Tortollan forager is your only 2-drop which has synergy with Elder Longneck. Elder requires you to have 5 attack minion in hand.
Without Tort foragers you can easily end up with Elder and Dreamer being unable to trigger either of their battlecries.
If you want to put Celestial dreamer in, i would suggest keeping foragers in aswell.
how exactly this deck is dealing with zoolocks, token druids, rogues, curve hunters? idk how this is so hyped even on lower ranks its unplayable
How much did the Stranglethorn Tiger help you instead of Verdant Longneck? Im asking cause Longneck saved me alot of times with the adapt in some weird situations
I built a very similar list, but havent tried it out yet. What do you think of Hemet?
Thanks for the update man
This deck list has the correct idea. Tar Creeper is an excellent choice for dealing with smorcs. However the curve on here is too low. It's great for surviving aggro but just completing the quest doesn't win you the game. Playing massive minions for (0) wins you the game. Your largest card here is Ancient of War which is a fine Druid minion but you have to get bigger. Cards like Tyrantus and Kun the Forgotten King are what really set this deck off once you survive to the completion to your quest.
FTFY. Gonna go try it out!

I'm trying to make druid viable also. Great list, I've been doing some testing as well. I was able to beat a taunt warrior with a lucky savage roar, don't think it will be that consistent. Once they have quest power, its hard to flood the board.
They get so beefy! I'm still up for the challenge, druid may next be my golden class. Debating on crafting Tyrantus.
i did -2 enchanted raven +2 golakka crawler
Im trying so hard to make druid's quest work, but I just can't no matter how many different decks I try.
