Played this deck on November 7 2017 and went from rank 23 to rank 10 on a win streak with only one loss. Still a good deck to climb the shitty stages of ladder with.
Add me on NA servers "#1385"
Dear tryhard babyragers,
Went from rank 20 to rank 3 with this deck. Not bad for a free to play (f2p) deck. I got to study for exams so I won't be playing for the next 2 weeks. If you can't win with this deck its not because the deck sucks (clearly if I hit rank 3). This deck is meant for f2p players trying to rank up. If you are trying to hit legend be creative and edit the deck with cards that most f2p players won't have. If you can't hit legend without copy and pasting someone's deck then you really don't understand the mechanics of hearthstone. Don't babyrage in my comments that you're not creative enough to upgrade the deck with better cards that you payed for.
My deck got featured on Reynad's youtube channel! Check out Reynad's channel and subscribe for awesome content! This is why we play stegadon! LOL
UPDATE:
-1 Jeweled Macaw because it wasn't a strong enough 1 drop
-1 Raptor Hatchling it thickened the deck with another 1 drop
-1 Smuggler's Crate having 2 was just too much and a shit top deck late game
-2 Ravasaur Runt after many games I realized this card was just garbage
-2 Tar Creeper it was not a beast and was useless on your turn
-1 Stegodon having 2 was too slow but its nice to have 1 against pirate warrior
-1 Volcanosaur its too slow for this deck
-1 Knife Juggler its not a beast so I kept one
+2 Alleycat high chance of one surving to adapt on turn 2, if both alive insane synergy with dire wolf
+2 Fiery Bat contests all 2 drops and deathrattle effect nice to use against exodia mage
+2 Dire Wolf Alpha just an insane card for this deck, works nicely with alleycat
+1 Golakka Crawler because fuck pirate warriors and swashburglars in quest rogue
+1 Vicious Fledgling this card is nice when it hits face but doesn't happen too often so run 1
+1 Cult Master the card draw off this has helped me win alot of games
+1 Reckless Rocketeer aka the poor man's Leeroy, if you have Leeroy use him instead
MULLIGAN/MATCHUPS:
Get rid of anything that is 3 mana or higher. If you see a priest/control warrior Stubborn Gastropod is your best friend. This deck beats every deck easily except for taunt warrior, elemental shamans, and priests. Sometimes I blow out these tough matchups, sometimes I win through a tough battle, most of the time you get rekt. Rogues get rekt. Hunters get rekt. Pirate warrior is 50/50. Discolock gets rekt. Controllock gets rekt if they can't find hellfire. Paladins I have not seen at all. Mages get rekt.
GAMEPLAY:
"DO ME TRADE? NO! ME GO FACE? YUP!" Unfortunately, you can't go face and expect to win, early board control is key, and you must make tactical trades and choose the best adaptation for your current situation. IE, get poisonous for taunt warrior, +3 health against mage to avoid AOE clear, stealth when you have lethal next turn, taunt when facing pirate warrior, and can't be targeted by spells when facing mages, priests, or warlocks.
I'm glad you love my deck but unfortunately with the new expansion my deck is weak towards the new meta!
This deck is perfect for burning through ranks 20 to 14 or 13 even in the current meta.
You don't need to be a dick about it, jesus.
This deck really sucks! May be was good at the launch...
CrispNClean, THANK YOU A LOT!
Been playing for a little while now, and never got above 17. This month, rank 14!
Just did some minor adaptations, as you recommended, included Leeroy for example, and it's the best deck I've played so far. By the way, I've got 4 quest decks, Warrior, Warlock, Mage and Shaman, none of it got a similar result.
Everyone sick of losing to pirate everything and quest rogue, try this!
One quick thought. Why Stegodon and not Nesting Roc? That's seems silly to me
Try playing better :o
I have replaced Golakka Crawler with Flame Juggler. Works well too.
I think Golakka is a better tech card especially since it can kill a pirate when playing against a pirate deck
Flame Juggler in wild?
Kla asked you on the first of May,
I am asking you on the first of June,
Can you please share your list?
Awesome deck!
Went from Rank 20 to Rank 9 with this deck. My previous best was Rank 16, so...
>Made a few changes tho... Replaced a few cards for "Call of The Wild", "Argent Commander", "Savannah Highmane" and "Deathwing" as a last resort desperation card.
Thanks for the deck.
OK, over the last 7 days I played 30 standard ladder games with this deck (1 card replaced, TBH) . Still not a very big sample, but more than a handful, so I'm drawing up a balance.
Fair warning: I'm not a fanboy, nor a babyrager. Will try to be as objective as possible, but keep in mind this is based on my personal experience. Your mileage may vary.
Played these 30 games between rank 15 and rank 12, with an overall winrate of 57%. Not super, not crap. And with win streaks and milestones every 5 ranks you could reach high levels with just a 50% WR, no? Provided you're dedicated enough to play a lot of games, that is.
The problem is that winrate not only decreased while climbing ranks - which was kind of expected - but also decreased *fast*. Breaking down by ranks, began with great (actually, perfect: 100%! but that couldn't last long, obviously), went on to decent (60%) and ended up with frankly poor (36%) results.
Now, for sure my skills still need improving, and I might have run into some unfavorable "pocket meta" or smthg, but still the feeling is that getting this way to, say, rank 10 or above would be exceedingly hard.
To all those who reached r10, r5, etc. with this deck: I'm happy for you, I really am. But, besides other personal differences, also consider that the meta is ever-changing, and the situation we had in the first days post-Un'Goro release may be different from what we have now, with season coming to its end. For instance, Crisp said "Paladins I have not seen at all". OK, but now they are at least average represented (4th most frequent class in my experience, 5th according to VS), and they're considered tier 1 (both murloc and MR pally).
Conclusion? First of all, the author did a nice job within the budget constraints, and I thank him for this. However, the deck might have been great just after Un'Goro launch, but now not so much. Mind, it's still good if you're low rank and want to climb a bit, to some mid-rank position. But for aiming further... dunno about you, but I'm switching to some other (midrange hunter) deck ;)
lawl at everyone saying they got rank 1 with a deck that has nothing but 1 cost cards
I feel like gastropods are lil bit useless, cuz they are too ez to kill. Maybe hunter's mark or deadly shot would be better? Also i have some reservations for cult master. i used him just once per 15 games
i think that taunt warriors become less and less the higher your rank, from my experience of course. i basically got to 13 with control before switching to face hunter and win streaking to 9
if it doesn't work then oh well, at least you're all ready at the 15 milestone. this obviously isn't an optimized list, if you have a larger collection then you should look for another list. if you happen to have Patches the Pirate and/or Leeroy Jenkins, Aggro Druid is working pretty well for me as well so you might want to try that.
As cancerous as it gets.
