only way is rush with drakes and giants fast as possible (need perfect mulligan :/) then u just play a minion -> minion destroyed with 2 mana
-1 abyssal,-1 MoM / +1 MC tech/ +1 SRBruiser because of the board flood meta?
I've been playing a bit around the mid-ranks and tried this deck, being a big fan of classic handlock. I'm rank 9 at the moment and this deck is 10-2 for me. I lost once against mage and once against disco lock. I believe this deck may be favored against disco lock as well, but I drew about as badly as I possibly could have (no board clears, only one of the many taunts.) I'm considering cutting something for either a Twisting Nether or a Felfire Potion, but I'm going to do a little more before I make any swaps. Will test some more and update stats later.
A few more stats, I did another 12 games and went 10-2 again, bringing the total record to 20-4. Currently at rank 7, 2 stars. My two losses this time were against a priest that took some ridiculous answers from my deck (was able to Thoughsteal and play a turn 5 Mountain Giant to which I didn't have a clean answer to,) and a quest rogue, which was the first quest rogue I've lost to of five I've played. An additional note, I've used Elise several times, but I've only actually drawn and used the pack twice. It did help me win the game both times, but it's a low sample size to consider. Also, I think that people that are having poor success with this deck may not quite understand how to use all of the tools it offers, since pure Handlock hasn't been in the meta for several seasons.
Matchups are thus so far: Druid 4-0, Hunter 1-0, Mage 4-1, Priest 2-1, Rogue 4-1, Shaman 2-0, Warlock 3-1. No paladins or warriors yet.
Please report after you play versus Quest warrior. I got destroyed and felt demotivated after that game. He just brawls the whole board, plays Rag weapon and go. Jaraxxus is bad at tanking 8 dmg/turn.
With the Quest Rogue becoming more and more popular, I swapped Elise the Trailblazer with Felfire Potion. Works pretty great considering they play Crystal Core on turn 5 and you wipe board on turn 6 (granted they built a substantial board). Pretty nice if your Shadowflame and Hellfire wasn't enough to neutralize the enemy board.
0-8 with this deck - feels awesome.
This deck is great. Feels good to play handlock after all this time, first loss after 6 wins due to drawing really poorly.
I guess lots of newer players will have a hard time playing this, given how handlock is such a niche deck, that has to be played very tightly to achieve success, mulligan decisions are so crucial.
That's the kind of hearthstone that makes me happy, hopefully that bullshit mage quest exodia doesn't take over, non-interactive bullshit will make the game shit.
No, you need those doomsayers for the aggro matchup, they also can be handy against midrange and control paired with big taunts sometimes.
I wouldn't craft elise just yet. I opened her, but haven't decided if she's needed for this deck.
Every game I've played with this deck I've been at ~10 hp by turn 4. The last two games I actually won and did so with 2 hp and 1 hp respectively. Those aggro decks can chew through taunts pretty well these days. Only won the last two games thanks to very lucky [card]Lord Jaraxxus[/card] top decks.
HAHA won the next game right after posting this with 1 hp again. thanks to 3 Ysera Awakens. Swapped her for Elise, totally worth it!
Play a different deck
Handlock has always been a niche deck, though good its a different style of play than anything we've seen in the last few expansions. Plus it relies an absolute TON on knowing what cards you'll need , AND getting them. Mulligans are HUGE in this deck. As the meta shapes out the tech decisions on this deck will become more apparent and make more sense, where as right now its hard to say what you're gonna play which severely hurts this decks chances at winning. If you watch trumps video, in the clips he shows, he ALWAYS has the right cards for the situation... and that just doesn't happen as consistently as his video shows. This is a deck that requires a bit more play than the small sample size of ~20 games that you have to git gud with it. BUT... it definitely is a force to be rekt-oned with.
This deck is very good when it catches people off guard. In the event it becomes popular people will start running techs against it, it'll be significantly less good. Until then, enjoy it!
Replaced Elise with Ysera and went 5-0 so far. Thanks for sharing!
alex would the only card that could replace him to some extend. (but no weapon, and you still have your useless heropower vs control later on
Congrats bud, have fun!
You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.
Mulligan aggressively for Power Overwhelming, Azure Drake, Rag, and Sylvanas.
no twisting nether?
