Greetings, travellers, I'm Subrezon, a Legend player from Germany. Creative deckbuilding is what I enjoy the most, and my joy peak is always before a new expansion. So here I am, with Subrezon's Theorycraft Series 2! As with MSoG, I will build one deck for each class that is both interesting and potentially good. I will generally avoid self-building decks, like ones based around Quests or Elementals. Warlock is by far my favourite class in Hearthstone, and Bloodbloom is probably my second-favourite card in Un'Goro after Open the Waygate, so I made a deck around it - Tempo Warlock!
What is this deck?
This deck is a mashup of the good old Zoo Warlock with some of the crazier tempo plays sprinkled in. You start your game either in the classic, 1-drop spamming fashion, or by using crazy Bloodbloom swings with Feeding Time, Kara Kazham! or Bane of Doom. Some discarding action is also present with your beloved package of Malchezaar's Imp, Silverware Golem, Soulfire and Doomguard, and some newcomers in Lakkari Felhound and Cruel Dinomancer. The latter can be used for some crazy value in grindy matchups if you manage to discard exactly Doomguard or the other Cruel Dinomancer. Play or discard your cards, fight for the board and tempo out to win!
Why this deck?
Lakkari Sacrifice is boooring. So, not much choice aside from it, either the tempo/discard stuff or Tar dudes and Humongous Razorleaf to try resurrecting Handlock, which also seemed boring to me. I'm kinda disappointed with the Warlock set in Un'Goro.
Is this going to be competitive?
Zoo never dies. This version is very gimmicky and hard to build without playing, and even so I seriously doubt it will be any better than the Quest stuff. But this is an aggressive, tempo-driven deck that isn't autopiloted, brain-dead ВrokeBack, which is kind of a rare sight in Hearthstone and thus might be really fun. And 5-mana spells are OP with Bloodbloom, just saying...
So, I hope you enjoyed this one, so stay tuned for more! Don't forget to drop a +1 and to check out all of Subrezon's Theorycraft Series 2!
Subrezon's Theorycraft Series 2:
You misses my point. I didn't ask why you didn't put the quest here, I asked why did you put so many discard without the quest. I think the deck should be more zooish, with at most 1 copy of the 4 mana taunt, and without the 6 mana 5/5.
I came here from the link in the exodia mage decklist, because I am interested in building decks around the mage deck and discard lock (You can see my discolock build in my page. About quest mage - I gave up, it doesn't have enough support).
Zavas is good even if you just use it to mitigate the discard downside. Cruel is weak unless your deck is full of good expensive minions (elsewhere - play cairne), and I am not sure how is it works with zavas / silverware.
Felhount feel too weak to compensate the 2 discards (it's not in the power level of doomguard). The new idea in your deck is bloodbloom, I guess it won't be good enough, but it worth trying.
Why did you put so much discard without the quest?
And cruel is just too weak. The chances to get only 1/1 or 3/2 is too high. Would you play 6 mana 5/5 deathrattle summon a flame imp?
