N’zoth priest is a variation on the old classic Control Priest. Its main goal is to stabilize the board with its very efficient removal, and using deathrattles like Sludge Belcher, and Sylvanas, close out the game with N’zoth, the Corrupter. N’zoth Priest sits near the bottom of Tier 3 because it is highly susceptible to aggressive decks, such as Pirate Warrior. Also, with the addition of Kazakus to Reno decks, the polymorph effect negates N’zoth, and it is very hard for N’zoth Priest to finish out the game. Some people have tried Elise Starseeker to counter control decks, but most Reno decks run n’zoth, and that pressure is just too much to overcome.

Compared to Standard, wild n’zoth priest has a huge variety of removal, and deathrattles. Sludge belcher really helps against aggressive decks, and AOE like lightbomb are extremely versatile. Other deathrattles that N’zoth priest in standard cannot take advantage of are Piloted Shredder, and deathlord. These help with the control matchup, and deathlord is a great taunt against aggressive decks as well. Due to these differences, most control priests in standard do not run n’zoth and run a classic control priest.
