Reno Mage is one of the most prominent control decks in the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan Meta. It uses its multiple board clears, such as Blizzard, Flamestrike, and Volcanic Potion to clear large aggressive boards with ease. These board clears allow for you to stall out until you get an ice block, or a Reno Jackson to save you from overly aggressive starts. In Wild, there are some very powerful cards that help the deck gain power over its standard counterpart, with more anti-aggro cards, as well as more powerful minions in general. It seems that in wild the deck is typically built around N’zoth bringing back taunt deathrattle minions to seal out an aggressive opponent, or to add extra value against a control deck.

This month we feel that Reno Mage is right on the cusp between tier 1 and tier 2. In the current Wild meta Reno Mage fares well against all of the tier 1 decks except for egg druid. This matchup weakens the case for reno mage to be tier 1 as the matchup is extremely lopsided in favor of the egg druid. Right now Renolock seems to be the most powerful Reno / Kazakus Deck on the ladder due to it being slightly more well rounded against the tier 1 decks. However, there are some prominent players who have reached very high rankings using this deck, such as Lunk, who recently hit rank 3 legend using his version of Reno Mage.

The biggest Un'Goro inclusion is Pyros, the card that keeps on giving. Pyros ses up end games against Control decks, so the deck can delve further into beating aggro.
