ABOUT ME

I'm a multi-time Legend player and a 2800+ Gladiator Holy Paladin in WoW. Recently returned (in January) to Hearthstone after a giant break (about 2 years I think, stopped a bit after BrM was released and patron warrior was destroying everybody). I'll be streaming a lot of Hearthstone, Wow, and other card games such as Faeria and TES:L so if you're interested in that, check my stream out at http://twitch.tv/synpoo

GENERAL TIPS

  • Dragon warrior is basically the definition of "curvestone". Focus on using mana efficiently.
  • Faerie Dragon is primarily in the deck as a low-cost activator, try to avoid playing it on curve unless you really need the pressure.
  • Against aggro decks you should be aiming to clear the board instead of developing and focus on starving them of resources. You can out value them easily.

MULLIGAN/MATCHUP GUIDE

GENERAL

Fiery War AxeN'Zoth's First Mate, Sir Finley Mrrgglton. Alexstrasza's Champion are always instant keeps. Keep Southsea Deckhand if you have no 1-drop (NFM), and keep Twilight Guardian when on the coin or if you have a good curve (2 and 3 drop in hand). If you have two Alexstrasza's Champion in hand, keep a dragon as well. Keep one 3-drop off the coin, keep two on the coin.

About Sir Finley Mrrgglton:
Mage/Hunter > Druid > Everything else
Warlock depends, most of the time you shouldn't take it against aggro decks, it's almost always the pick against control though.

DRUID

Favoured: Look to keep a 3-drop, either Frothing Berserker or a Fierce Monkey, even Ravaging Ghoul works well against turn 1 Living Roots if you don't have the NFM to counter it. Look to out-tempo them and keep jamming minions onto the board and force them to keep removing minions. Look for valuable trades but when their jades start ramping really high you have to go face, you'll never win the value war late-game against druid. Holding a weapon charge to get through Ancient of War with Execute is very important here.

RENOMAGE

Favoured: They aren't able to deal with the constant amount of threats coming out of your hand. Keep flooding the board while playing around key AoE like Volcanic Potion. Setup a post-reno board, and you should be able to win very easily even after Reno Jackson hits. Drakonid Crusher is MVP here for baiting removal in preparation Ragnaros the Firelord. Go face a lot.

Didn't play a single tempo mage so I can't give tips against that.

PRIEST

Slightly Unfavoured: Pretty hard to out value them. Play around Kabal Talonpriest in the early game and Dragonfire Potion as best as possible. Hit face a lot when it gets to the mid-late game.

ROGUE

Slightly Favoured: Decent matchup for us as rogue runs little taunts (occasionally 1 Defender of Argus) and no heal. Play around Backstab and look to use Execute on a big Edwin VanCleef. Miracle feels a bit harder than Aggro rogue does just because Sap becomes a problem, and we have no way of interacting with Conceal.

SHAMAN

Favoured: Keep a 3 drop and look to coin it on turn 2 to play around Jade Lightning. Maelstrom Portal is ineffective against our minions most of the time so be wary of getting blown out by Lightning Storm. Flood the board after they used one AoE. Blackwing Corruptor is a valuable card for dealing with Flametongue Totem protected by taunts.

RENOLOCK

Favoured: The only effective AoE in the early-mid game they have is Shadowflame, Hellfire / Abyssal Enforcer and Demonwrath don't deal with our mid-game threats. Play around Shadowflame as much as possible while setting up lethal and activating your Drakonid Crusher

WARRIOR

Favoured: Ravaging Ghoul absolutely crushes pirate warrior. A lot of the time it's correct to hold your 1-drop pirate to clear their 1 health pirates with ghoul instead. Remove pirates at all cost and then stabilize behind a wall of taunts; they'll never get through the plethora of taunt minions in this deck.

ENJOY! <3
