Important!!! The deck is being updated regularly now that almost all the cards have been released.
Description:
Control Shaman deck with a lot of possibilities around deathrattle mechanics.
"Evident" Combos:
- Reincarnate + Cairne Bloodhoof = 1x Cairne Bloodhoof + 1x Baine Bloodhoof
- Reincarnate + Sylvanas Windrunner = Take 1 random opponent's minion for 2 mana
Edit (19/08/2014): Updated decklist with the new cards and tested a lot for finding the best consistency.
Edit (03/09/2014): Updated decklist: now it's more stable and consistent. Removed Baron Rivendare, Earth Elementals, Ancestral Spirits because if you don't draw the combos the deck doesn't work well.
The main problem is hunter, also Shaman is not good in this meta.
there's too much silence on the current meta. this deck struggles.
Hello, Mr. Thuzad!
I just realized that you can't kill any of them permanently without wiping your whole board or mass silence.
This deck is really fun but is so weak against literally any aggro deck.
Still learning how to play this deck, but after 20+ matches I can absolutely say this deck is rly fun :D
Well, I'm having trouble with nearly everything using this deck. I've droped from Rank 4 to 6.
Zoo just overwhelms you. Just like against hunters the damage you put out is too low for parity.
Even if I manage to put up a taunt wall it's only when I'm already close to dead.
Would you mind posting more strategy and mulligan choices?
I'm still testing it and making adjustments. I too have trouble against aggro, but I have it with taunt druid also and seems that the only counter to aggro decks are aggro decks. I'm trying with more taunts now, like Senjin Shieldmasta.
Hmm, I don't like a couple of the Aug 11th changes one bit.
Mana Tide Totem is a poor fit for this deck, I think. Card draw is important but Cult Master is a better choice in this deck both thematically and functionally, in my opinion. Sure, Cult Master won't be any good if you have no board presence but neither will Mana Tide Totem.
Glad to see the Spectral Knights and Chillwind Yeti out, though. They're good cards but they're not suited to this deck.
The Dark Iron Dwarf and Defender of Argus changes are solid choices but I'm not sold on Azure Drake for this deck.
I completely disagree with removing Sylvanas Windrunner. Sylvanas Windrunner is incredibly powerful in this deck, particularly against Control Warrior or Handlock. She's almost certainly the most powerful of all Reincarnate interactions.
Deck is fun had to change a few cards since i dont have them but still a fun deck
This deck's backbone is great, I made a few changes that VladTheEater added as well but not totally sold on some aspects.
Love the Cult Master swap. I think Sludge Belcher has a slight amount more synergy with both reincarnate and Baron over Sunwalker. I also agree the spectral knights are great but don't have their place in this deck. Have you found Loatheb to be helpful? He's just sat for me most games. I'm thinking of trying to fit an Ancestral Healing combo and take out Leeroy Jenkins/Faceless Manipulator but maybe only if I hit a ton of Aggro. For now I've put in 2 Unstable Ghoul for therockbiters weapon, as they seem to help me get to late game a little easier against most aggro decks.
This is my new favorite deck. I think it's fantastic!
I made a few changes, though. There were a few cards I don't agree with and upon some testing I'm glad I made a switch.
-Doomhammer +Leeroy Jenkins
Both are approximately equal with a single Rockbiter Weapon and Leeroy Jenkins combos much better with Reincarnate.
-Chillwind Yeti +Dark Iron Dwarf
Chillwind Yeti is a little more durable but Dark Iron Dwarf gives one more way to enable your Nerubian Egg if you don't draw into a Flametongue Totem.
-Sludge Belcher +Sunwalker
This one I'm still testing out. Sludge Belcher is great and combos better with Baron Rivendare but Sunwalker is a much better target for Ancestral Spirit especially combined with my next substitution.
-Spectral Knight +Faceless Manipulator
Spectral Knight is a great card, I think, but it doesn't do anything to further the theme of the deck. Since Faceless Manipulator also copies buffs, it would be a prime target for anything you put Ancestral Spirit on... particularly Sunwalker. It also provides the option to Faceless Manipulator something your opponent controls if it would benefit you more than your own board.
-Spectral Knight +Cult Master
As has been suggested elsewhere in the comments, card draw in this deck is weak. Especially with Flametongue Totem and hero power totems, you will often have a good deal of creatures you can trade off as you play Cult Master to get a decent amount of card draw for a turn. It even combos with Reincarnate if you happen to fire off another combo at the same time!
I have been playing this deck a lot today with very good results. The card draw was an issue so I removed Sylvanas Windrunner (I don't have the card), and the Lightning Storm and replaced it with two Loot Hoarder, who also have good synergy with the Deathrattle element of this deck. I also replaced the Chillwind Yeti with Cult Master, which was suggested by Kellcron in this thread. Cult Master works really well in this deck and I would recommend it.
new meta
Made few changes to the deck and after playing with it for a while I can say that the card draw is not the main issue, aggro decks easily crush this one, you just don't have time to make a decent combo
also this
Agreed; aggro decks easily crush this one--so what were your changes?
Added one more Lightning Storm for obvious reasons; removed Doomhammer, it is a good card but at the stage of the game when you can afford to play it you are probably loosing already against aggro; removed Chillwind Yeti and added Faceless Manipulator - can get really good in this deck offensive as well as defensive. I also tried swapping Spectral Knight's for Sunwalker and Leeroy Jenkins, however no success so far against aggro (mostly zoo, but also rush rogues these saps are a nightmare) - 3/10, those 3 games were won only due to great starting hands. Maybe it would be nice to fit Loot Hoarder here, because of deathrattle, card draw and earlier presence .
I 100% agree it needs card draw.
Great deck, thanks for posting this!
However I am a little worried it is slow on card draw. I dont see any drakes, for example. How did you experience card draw during testing, was there an issue with this? Were you quickly in top deck mode?
I think I'm going to give this deck a go... but I'm going to remove the Yeti and Doomhammer for 2x Dark Iron Dwarfs. That would give additional ways to activate Eggs, and with all the 5/6 casting cost cards, using 2 turns for the hammer doesn't make sense. Rockbiter Weapon + Doomhammer is nice, but more often than not the Rockbiter will end up being used early since this is more of a control deck with a lot of combo elements.
I almost have enough dust to craft either Sylvanas or Cairne. I'm thinking Cairne for the guaranteed value vs RNG. Thoughts?
