Okay then. With the Un'Goro's release triggering the start of the new Standard format I simply had to make some changes to this deck. So far I've been pretty successful with it, however I cannot give a precise winrate right now as I've only played a few games with it. Here's a mini write-up anyways, will do a FULL write-up after I've fully experimented with it.
So basically, the aim of this deck is to deal with your opponent's minions while flooding the board and maintaining your own. Cards like Soulfire and Doomguard are super efficient in doing this, helping you to kill off your opponent's big minions, shutting down any opportunity they have to deal damage to your face.
-----MULLIGAN-----
Against Rogue or Warrior (assume it's aggro)
Voidwalker, Fire Fly, Soulfire. Focus on killing your opponent's minions to completely annihilate their chances of completing their quest (and killing you by turn 5). Use cards like Voidwalker and Defender of Argus to stop your opponent in their tracks, giving you a window of opportunity to strike their face and finish them off.
Against any other class
Simply go for any useful 1 or 2-drop. Focus more on dealing face damage than dealing with threats, my most useful strategy against decks like Amara Priest has been flooding the board with minions first and then removing your opponent's threats. Overwhelm your opponent and then strike their minions down.
This pack is really weak, no contest against strong combo packs ....
Unfortunately, its really core. However this deck's discards are only Soulfire and Doomguard, where other decks might featureDarkshire Librarian. This gives you some flexibility so I would recommend a two drop such as Acidic Swamp Ooze (as mentioned above) or even Knife Juggler.
Hopes this helps.
I am a Warlock lover, and this expansion is going to be so fun. I love discard lock, and now we HAVE to play it! I am so excite!
is there a guide for this deck? I auto lose vs jade druid. They have too many high helath minions and taunts i can't control board or go face. I either trade my whole board or they clear me with removal.
Against Jade, it's pretty much a race to take them down before they become huge! Basically Zoolock becomes more Aggro lol
Zoo isn't an aggro deck
Zoo is its own thing. Almost aggro, almost midrange.
People that think zoo is aggro are <generally> the people that continuously lose games to it because they don't understand how the mentality of the deck plays out.
technically yes .. but zoo is misunderstood by most players .. it relies on board control by overwhelming your opponent with cheap minions and spells but its not a face deck because zoo dose not have any come back mechanics ..thats why its recommended to new players to play zoolock to understand positioning and efficient trading ..though since kharazhan zoo tends to be even more aggressive ..its still not a face deck ..u only play aggressive as possible against control decks otherwise ..favorable trades and chip damage over time is whats zoo all about
doesnt matter, one of most braindead decks anyway
Running out of steam, replace a Councilmen for Leroy?
If you're running out of steam a lot, you might want to consider life tapping a little more often (even when you still have cards in hand). The power of Zoo is that it never really runs out of steam, wins the board and kills the opponent from there.
Good budget deck, excellent at what it was made to do! it completely wrecks pirates :D it can be quite disgusting in the early game.
I made a video showcasing the deck which I hope you enjoy! I definitely recommend for you to try this out if you just picked up hearthstone.
This deck made me sign up for the site. I'm not getting 85%, but there could be reasons for that. I did have to swap some cards, since I don't have Peddlers and Gang Boss.
I'm 20 games in with it. I've gone 13-7, Facing a pretty common set of opponents.
I went from Rank 18 1 Star, to Rank 15 Zero stars
Since I started late in the game, and didn't buy Explorers or Blackrock (since they're phasing out soon) I added
Moroes
Friendly Bartender
2X Kabal Courier
in their place.
So far:
Druid Goloem 4-0
Grimestreet Hunter: 1-0
Weird Mage Decks 2-1
Grimestreet Paladin: 1-0
Murloc Paladin: 1-0
Inner Fire Priest: 1-0
Miracle Rogue: 0-1
Burgle Rogue: 0-1
Shaman Golems: 0-2
Aggro Shaman: 1-0
weird Evolve / Devolve Shaman thing: 0-1
Reno Lock: 1-0
Pirate Warrior: 2-1
I like it. I like that I didn't have to craft anything to throw it together and get moving. It allows me to save my dust for Dinosaurs.
I'll try those next. Once I hit 15, The deck slowed down to a 50/50 split, because Dragon Priest is LITERALLY all I face. I'm really just bursting with joy that Dragon Priest is so rampant now. Hooray.... My games take FOR FREAKING EVER.
I dropped Moroes and the Bartender to try a questing adventurer and a raid leader. They arent' great. So, we'll swap out and try the dorf and ooze.
Ok, How do we beat Dragon Priest?
I'm wallowing at 51.22% Win Percent, stuck at rank 15. I've now faced 6 Dragon Priest decks at rank 15, and I'm 1-5. I can get them down quick, but I can't get them dead before they just overwhelm me.
yea, i really like the iron dwarf too in this deck :)
this deck is only good for rank 25-15 after that you get real meta decks where it sucks
Pretty standard Zoolock but it's nice to have a reliable budget deck to climb with, especially one thats survived the test of time. I'm not sure if it's worth leaving out the Darkshire Librarian or not considering there's only one card in the deck that synergizes with it (Silverware Golem) but the deck performed really well for me regardless. Definitely won the majority of my games relatively quickly.
If you'd like to see the deck in action feel free to check out the video below :).
