Hi guys, I'm a player that always refine the weird decks, this is a way I love Hearthstone. Today I want to introduce an quite new archetype, C'Thun Druid featuring Aviana + Kun the Forgotten King + Reno Jackson, I called it Reno C'Kun.

Here is a typical gameplay with Reno Mage:

Reno Jackson helped me survive against a ton of big legendaries like Archmage Antonidas, Alexstrasza, Inkmaster Solia, Kazakus. After all, she accepted her fate and conceded.

This deck is playable in the current meta, I would achieve rank 10 in January 2017 and rank 5 in this month. In two months, the winrate is 57% with the score is 161 - 123, not so bad. I just don't have a lot of time for grinding because I have a baby daughter. Therefore I can only play about 1 hour per day, so it must be fun, I don't like brainless decks that they will play themselves. That's a reason why I love creating weird decks.

This is a slow deck, you need to cycle your deck and commit a fabulous combo to OTK your opponent in the end. But why is Reno in this deck? Just because Reno is Kunning. The basic principle is: You set a trap for bating all resources of your opponent, if he wouldn't kill you so it will be your turn to kill him. Because you are Druid, so they will never suspect that you have Reno in your hand. Such a sweet evil plot, when your opponent thinks that next turn you will die for sure, then you play Reno for surviving one more turn, and finally release all the cards in your hand for dealing 72 damages into his face. You will feel like an Exodia. But your deck can't have more than one copy of a card in exchange. So it's not easy to play this deck, I even don't want to say it's very hard (the difficulty is equal to Reno Mill Rogue), but every win is definitely a highlight, and you can proud of it.

If you like the challenges, and want to troll your opponent, just keep on reading, my fellow.

Decklist

- Innervate: This card is very important for ramping up, because you can play Reno Jackson, Nourish or Aviana earlier.

- Living Roots: Don't hesitate to summon 2 1/1s in turn 1 for tempo (except other Reno decks). Sometimes, your opponent will be confused that you are Aggro Combo Druid, and waste resource to kill these small minions.

- Beckoner of Evil: A very good early card, just play it as soon as possible.

- Doomsayer: So good for aggro, but be careful when playing against control decks, because they can play immediately Dirty Rat to destroy an important minion like C'Thun from your hand.

- Novice Engineer: Sometimes, you would keep this card to play with Brann Bronzebeard for drawing 2 cards in late game.

- Wild Growth: Just play it on turn 2 - 5 if you have it, otherwise you should play it in turn 10 for drawing 1 more card.

- Wrath: You should choose to draw 1 more card with this card, only choose dealing 3 damages when you must to kill an important minion like Tunnel Trogg.

- Youthful Brewmaster: You would play it with C'Thun for doubling its damages, or return Reno Jackson to your hand when playing against brutal aggro decks. In a worst case, you would need to play this minion with Aviana + Coldlight Oracle for cycling to find C'Thun. With Reno Mage, after Ice Block was activated, you would need to use this card to return C'Thun for preventing Polymorph.

- Brann Bronzebeard: A key card of this deck, keep it in your hand. But when playing against aggro, you would play it in turn 3 for surviving.

- Coldlight Oracle: In control matchup, you should keep calm and try to mill their cards; in aggro matchup, you should mulligan it away because you would draw it by The Curator later, or play it early if you want YOLO.

- Disciple of C'Thun: Basic C'Thun card with good battlecry effect, would use with Brann Bronzebeard efficiently but just in some emergency cases.

- Feral Rage: This card is very good to kill some minion like Azure Drake, Frothing Berserker; or maybe use like healing.

- Ironbeak Owl: This minion is a beast, so it works great with The Curator, helps you draw faster and silence some dangerous minions like Sylvanas WindrunnerTwilight Drake or Edwin VanCleef.

- Mind Control Tech: It's very good to steal an opponent's minion, because this deck doesn't have many spells to clear the board. Reno Jackson + Mind Control Tech is my favorite combo.

- Mulch: Very good removal effect for big minion like Ysera or Flamewreathed Faceless, just use it wisely because your opponent will have another minion. But overall, you will gain advance tempo to keep the game longer, however you should mulligan it away in the start of the game.

- C'Thun's Chosen: Just a very good C'Thun minion, would be annoying to remove (especially with Priest because of 4 attacks). This deck uses only C'Thun cards with battlecry effect for synergy with Brann Bronzebeard.

- Fandral Staghelm: A very strong legendary with Choose One cards, but is not so important in this deck (because you don't have many Choose One cards). I usually use it as some kind of soft taunt, you would replace it with an another strong Taunt card like Ancient of War or Sen'jin Shieldmasta.

- Mire Keeper: You should away play this card as soon as possible for gaining an empty mana crystal, would combo with The Coin or Innervate.

- Swipe: You only have one Swipe, please use it in an smart way, only mulligan it away when face another Reno decks.

- Azure Drake: Just an awesome minion, nothing to say here.

- Druid of the Claw: In this Pirate meta, you should choose Taunt, if you want to kill Gadgetzan Auctioneer then just choose Charge inherently.

- Nourish: You should choose drawing 3 cards instead of gaining mana crystals, except you need to play big Taunt minions quickly. If you have Fandral Staghelm and Innervate in hand, keep it for a brilliant combo in turn 7.

- Lunar Visions: Very useful because you only have one Nourish. You even would draw Doomsayer and play it immediately because its mana cost reduced to 0.

- Dark Arakkoa :Best C'Thun Druid card with Taunt and big heath.

- Reno Jackson: You should mulligan it away in control matchup, except Reno Mage because he would play Alexstrasza and kill you in next turn so you need Reno in this case. Like other Reno decks, if you would play Reno Jackson in turn 6 against aggro decks, you already 80% to win.

- The Curator: It has Taunt and helps you draw Coldlight Oracle, Ironbeak Owl and Azure Drake, but you would mill yourself if you have so many cards in hand.

- Twin Emperor Vek'lor: Remember to play these guys when you already have 10+/10+ C'Thun. In some case, you would play it earlier for protecting your life. You even combo with Brann Bronzebeard or Youthful Brewmaster for more Taunt minions.

- Aviana: Mulligan it away in any matchup, please remember that, except you know what you are doing.

- Kun the Forgotten King: In aggro matchup, you would gain 10 armors, don't need to wait for combining with Aviana.

- C'Thun: Our MVP, and keep in mind when you play it, you have to make sure that your opponent must be defeated, because you don't have any other backup plan. In some special matchups like Miracle Rogue, you have to play C'Thun before turn 9 to deal lethal damages and finish the game as soon as possible.

Recommended alternative cards

You would replace the non-key cards in this deck with:

- Darnassus Aspirant: If you would play this card in turn 2, your opponent will have to kill it immediately, but it's still so good for you. And you should remember never sacrifice this card for field slot before play Aviana combo in turn 10, it will reduce you 1 mana crystal, then you wouldn't play Kun the Forgotten King.

Second-Rate Bruiser: A really great Taunt card for preventing Aggro decks, and not so bad against control decks.

- Harrison Jones: This card is very good in this meta weapon, and it would help you draw some more cards.

- Ancient of War: Very good Taunt card.

- Loot Hoarder: We don't have many spell cards so we would use this card instead of Bloodmage Thalnos.

Mulligan

- Against Aggro: Innervate, Living Roots, Beckoner of Evil, Doomsayer, Swipe, Feral Rage, Druid of the Claw, Reno Jackson.

- Against Control: The Curator, Nourish, Lunar Visions, Mire Keeper, Wild Growth, Novice Engineer, Coldlight Oracle.

You shouldn't keep key cards like Aviana, Kun the Forgotten King, C'Thun in any case, because when play against aggro they will be dead cards, and against control they would be targeted by Dirty Rat.

Mage Matchup

- Reno Mage: She is very popular in the current meta, and this is a good matchup. Except she was so lucky with Dirty Rat, she could only concede. Or she would play Reno Jackson and Polymorph your C'Thun after Ice Block, then played Kazakus's postion in next turn. In most of times, you only need Youthful Brewmaster to solve this problem, so should not commit the combo too soon if she hadn't played Reno Jackson or Polymorph (don't worry, she wouldn't kill you easily anyway).

https://youtu.be/VVyNSnsqq0k?t=48m5s

https://youtu.be/zMJPzjVAIPc?t=39m22s

- Freeze Mage: He could draw many cards, but you even would draw faster, never let your HP below 20 and you will be fine. (Actually, sometimes, freeze mage would deal 25+ damages with Spell minions)

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/GB9-3DbCYfo?t=56m13s

- Tempo Mage: I think it will depend on your luck with Reno Jackson when play against her (like other aggro decks).

Example gameplay:

Warlock Matchup

- Renolock: This is a good matchup too, because Renolock is reaaaly slow. Most of times, he even wouldn't play Lord Jaraxxus. You have to keep some spells like Mulch to deal with Mountain Giant, and be careful when he played Emperor Thaurissan, because he would commit Leeroy Jenkins combo in next turn and OTK you. If you don't want to miss a constant win, you might have to predict what he will do in next turn.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/dQbhQPplT_U?t=22m54s

https://youtu.be/D9nruSDi8yQ?t=1h19m26s

Priest Matchup

- Dragon Priest: You should keep Mind Control Tech, Reno Jackson and 4 attacks minions when playing against Dragon Priest (because she is mid range), then everything will be ok. You shouldn't let your HP too low (below 12), because he would OTK you with Brann Bronzebeard + Blackwing Corruptor. Sometimes, he would discover from your deck some dangerous cards like Swipe, Aviana... You can win smoothly, but still need to make a lot good decisions.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/mS45tjfnI-c?t=46m55s

https://youtu.be/q26cXQ6r8Jo?t=15m1s

https://youtu.be/t4LYbEJHq3Y?t=12m10s

- Resurrect Priest: This deck would deploy minions so easily, therefore you would be lost tempo too early except he resurrected wrong minions, but Res Priest is not so popular right now.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/s10lzu5WbZ0?t=26m54s

- Reno Priest: Reno Priest is very slow, so you would draw your deck entirely without any restrictions.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/s10lzu5WbZ0?t=36m58s

https://youtu.be/q26cXQ6r8Jo?t=30m16s

https://youtu.be/JbHIyxoAkpo?t=41m6s

Paladin Matchup

- Anyfin Paladin: At the moment, Palafin is only playable Paladin deck. You might use Coldlight Oracle to mill your opponent and make Anyfin Can Happen becomes weaker when Coldlight Oracle is resurrected. But he is OTK too, so you need to commit your combo before him.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/zMJPzjVAIPc?t=52m41s

Hunter Matchup

- Handbuff Hunter: Hunter is still very dangerous with this deck, you need Ironbeak Owl to clear a buffed minion or Savannah Highmane. But you still must play Reno Jackson in right time for sure.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/jrJcRAzSEmI?t=8m14s

- Secret Hunter: If you don't know exactly what kind of secrets he is trapping, just shouldn't attack and wait for Taunt minions or C'Thun, it will be more safer to you.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/mAThe9Kqnvk?t=50s

Druid Matchup

 - Jade Druid: You should try to play C'Thun as soon as possible, before his Jade Army floods the board. Even he would Mulch your C'Thun, you could still kill him easily in next turns because Jade Druid doesn't have many tools to recover.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/Vapv91AKwrQ?t=22m57s

https://youtu.be/fwML-O5EX-A?t=24m51s

- Beast Druid: We still meet Beast Druid or Combo Druid frequently, but it's not a true threat and you can deal with him quite easily.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/jrJcRAzSEmI?t=36m19s

Warrior Matchup

- Pirate Warrior: You will almost die in turn 5. If you can survive after turn 6 with Reno Jackson, you should have Taunt minions for keeping tempo.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/qUQ0JGfveNk?t=8m7

https://youtu.be/jrJcRAzSEmI?t=54m14s

https://youtu.be/9LKkvwvn2jI?t=6m11s

https://youtu.be/JbHIyxoAkpo?t=1h36m40s

- Fatigue Warrior: You would deal from 70 to 80 damages with a full combo, so always try to wait until you have both Brann Bronzebeard and Youthful Brewmaster for a deadly combo. Therefore, there's no need to worried when he has 20+ armors with Justicar Trueheart, just keep calm and make a face palm (his face of course). Otherwise, he would just play Brawl, and that's a real disaster.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/GB9-3DbCYfo?t=1h9m

https://youtu.be/D9nruSDi8yQ?t=1h5m24s

- Dragon Warrior: This deck is very brutal, remember to never let your HP is less than 16 because of Drakonid Crusher. Sir Finley Mrrgglton is a real MVP if he would get Life Tap or Steady Shot. He might also have Ragnaros the Firelord or Deathwing, so good luck.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/NQ7gLqlS8lo?t=12m41s

Shaman Matchup

 - Aggro Shaman: You are not a ShameMan if you lose to a Aggro Shaman, so just hit "Well played" button gently. But if you win against him, that's definitely a great moment and would make your day. No more comments.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/jrJcRAzSEmI?t=1h47s

https://youtu.be/q26cXQ6r8Jo?t=7m3s

https://youtu.be/fwML-O5EX-A?t=34m26s

Control Shaman: In theory, he wouldn't win against us; but there is only one time, his Sylvana stole my C'Thun then I wouldn't play Youthful Brewmaster to finish him. After that painful experience, I always kill or silence her before commit the combo.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/GVzwB97cdFQ?t=1h47m8s

https://youtu.be/_tqq20llcrk?t=43m32s

- Midrange Shaman: We shouldn't let him fill his board with a ton of totems easily. Because he would OTK you with Thunder Bluff Valiant or Bloodlust this turn.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/t4LYbEJHq3Y?t=50s

https://youtu.be/fwML-O5EX-A?t=21s

- Jade Shaman: He is not so fast, so you would have a right answer for him in most of circumstances. His limited Jade minions and healing cards is nonsense with us.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/VVyNSnsqq0k?t=26s

https://youtu.be/jrJcRAzSEmI?t=22m31s

- Evolve Shaman: He is not so strong at the moment, so your chance is 50 %.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/GB9-3DbCYfo?t=40m35s

Rogue Matchup

- Jade Rogue: As Jade Druid, you should try to kill her before she would play a ton of Jade minions.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/dQbhQPplT_U?t=12m42s

- Mill Rogue: If she don't do anything until turn 5 or use healing minions, she would be a dangerous Mill Rogue, so you shouldn't draw anymore cards and just try to play minions as much as possible for avoiding key cards were being milled.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/dQbhQPplT_U?t=32m35s

- Aggro Rogue: Like other Pirate decks, you don't have any chance without Reno Jackson.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/fwML-O5EX-A?t=28m54s

- Miracle Rogue: This is a true nemesis, you can only win when he has a very bad draw and wouldn't cycle his deck. Like other control decks, we don't have any real solutions to prevent her tempo storm, maybe in next patch he will be nerfed. If you are really lucky, silence and remove her big minions and play C'Thun to finish her early.

Example gameplay:

https://youtu.be/_CXqH4r7xpY?t=41s
