Introduction
Hi guys!My name is Bane.I'm an italian 10x legend player. This season i've reached top400 legend ladder with this funny dragonlock. Thanks to all for the upvotes!:D
Renolock deck is one of the strong builds to come out of the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan expansion but i always love alternative decks when i play hearthstone so i built this dragon version. Let's start.
Proof of the legend:http://imgur.com/a/VpF8M
Dragon Renolock guide and mulligan strategy:
General mulligan vs any decks:
General mulligan vs fast decks:
Mortal Coil, Demonwrath, Imp Gang Boss, Hellfire,Mistress of Mixtures, Acidic Swamp Ooze, Doomsayer, Kazakus.
General mulligan vs slow decks:
Lord Jaraxxus, Netherspite Historian (if u have a dragon) in ur opening hand, Twilight Drake, Mountain Giant.
Dragon Renolock Matchup advices:
In this section, I’ll give a few quick tips on how to play in the most popular matchups.
Shaman:
Slightly favored matchup. Hard mulligan for a good early game (Mortal Coil,Mistress of Mixtures,Ooze,Doomsayer,Imp gang boss, Twilight Guardian if u have coin,a dragon and other good starting cards), Reno jackson and some Aoe like Hellfire, Demonwrath or Kazakus.
Try to stabilize the game, think to the future turns and in which mode u can counter the shaman oppo. Try to have always an answer for the 4 mana 7-7, like a dragon and a shadow bolt or corruption. When u stabilize the game the match is over in 90% of the case.
Pirate warrior:
Another slightly favored matchup, depend a lot on the early draws. The mulligan is the same mulligan that u have vs shamans but in this case u have to put even more attention to ur hp.
Ooze ,coil, demonwrath, doomsayer, kazakus and obviously reno are the key cards to win this game.
Don't risk too much, pirate warriors have a lot of burst in their hand so don't tap too much less than u have a bad hand.If u are capable to arrive to turn 6-7 probably u win.
Dragon priest:
Very favored matchup. Mulligan for Twilight Drake( hard to remove), Mountain Giant, Reno, in some case Thaurissan and Lord Jaraxxus.
This matchup is easy but if the priest has a good start this can complicate the match so put always an eye on your HP.
Obviously in most case the key to win this match up is Lord Jaraxxus. Play it when u have baord possession, good removal in ur hand, when ur oppo has not many cards in his hand or when u can spawn the abyssal 6-6. Priests cannot counter a 6-6 any turn.
Renolock:
Renolock is an hard matchup. This version is unfavored against other Renolock versions like the combo's version. Mulligan for Twiligh Drake, Mountain Giant and in some case Thaurissan.U have to take advantage of ur oppo turn by turn, playing safe and good. You must use ur resources in the best way. Brann+kazakus+netherspite historian is a good idea.
If u understand that ur oppo doesn't play the combo version u can play jaraxxus when u know that u have board possession and good cards and start to kick his ass with Oblivion's Lord.
Miracle rogue:
Very bad matchup. They have everything to kick ur ass. Sap for ur drakes and giants, burst for ur hp....a big edwin on turn 1( -_-'').
BBBBBut...we can try to stop them. Mulligan for a good start. Kazakus is a key card in this matchup. Other good cards are Ooze, Reno Jackson obviously, Imp Gang Boss, Mortal Coil, Doomsayer, and some Aoe for the little pirates like demonwrath or hellfire. The other key to win this matchup is to know when u can risk or not. In some case the only way to win the game even if u'are on 12hp is not to play reno but maybe play an Abyssal enforcer to kill some enemy minions.
Jade druid:
Not properly a good matchup. Try to control the board soon. Good cards to mulligan are Twilight Drake,Mountain Giant, Thaurissan in some case. Try to end the match as soon as possible.
Reno mage:
I think that this matchup is a sort of 50-50. We have to use our resources absolutely in the best mode. Use Kazakus only with brann. Mulligan for Twilight Drake, Mountain Giant, Reno. A key to win this matchup is Lord Jaraxxus but we have to pay much attention, is better to play him when u know that our oppo has ended his burst coz we can run out of hp very soon. Other keys to win this matchup are to play Ysera when ur oppo has just used his Polymorph maybe on a mountain giant or hoping that Dirty Rat pull out their Kazakus. (^_^'')
Reno Dragonlock combo :
Dirty rat+twisting Neither.
Brann+all battlecry minions.
Dirty rat+mind control tech
Twilight drake and mountain giant+Faceless Shambler
Card replacements:
My advice is to keep the deck like it is but if u don't like something u can write in the comments and i can give u an advice on some replacements.
Here u can find a video on the deck by kiwiinbacon!

Okay, so it's been a long time since you shared this deck.
I thank you for this! This is a lot more fun than your typical Renolock (Leeroy combo which I used to play).
I don't play as often anymore but whenever I do have Warlock quests, I complete them using this deck. I haven't played it long enough to climb as I generally play maximum 5 games at a stretch and I keep switching decks. But I believe anyone who is not completely dumb can reach rank 10 atleast with this one while having fun. I usually lose only 1 game out of 3 or 4 (that's approximately 66~75% winrate) using this deck.
The problems I faced while using this is a lack of Dragons, maybe even 1 more would help alot since I ended up with Corrupter and Historian without a dragon a couple of times. And I can see why you need Lord J in this deck. Sometimes if you don't gain proper board control soon enough in a control matchup, you run out of steam, Thankfully it happened to me only once or twice. Even Ysera should ease that pain a little.
I didn't have Ysera, Lord J and Twilight Guardian so I replaced them with Faerie Dragon, Nefarian and Rag (for burst potential) and it worked out fine (maybe I should add Onyxia for late game and dragon tag since that's the only big dragon I have other than Nefarian).
All in all, this deck is super fun and my go to deck for Renolock and Warlock in general. Thanks for posting it mate ^_^
Hi! Great deck, sorry for bothering but i've been struggling to find a decent enough replacement for ysera as i do not have nefarian.
My question is:Can i put Ragnaros instead of her?
Thanks in advance!
Ciao! Posso aggiungerti su hs? Avrei bisogno di un paio di consigli, se vuoi sono Commando #22817.
Grazie mille e complimenti per il mazzo!
how to deal with jades?
Good replacement for Ysera? Nefarian?
I think, this is better than any Reno lock, great match ups
Overall a nice deck that i enjoyed playing with. The deck has enough dragons to justify the inclusion of the 4 dragon cards that require you to have a dragon in the hand. It also doesn't feel like its missing the cards that those dragons replace.
I made a video on the deck if anyone wants to check it out :).
Cheers.
Any viable replacements for Mountain Giant and/or Dirty Rat?
This is a sweet deck! What would you recommend instead for Lord Jaraxxus?
A good deck. I'm Fancying it. I always liked Dragons so dragon lock is fun!
hello,,,
fun to play i just won few games and lost some,, but overall its really nice deck
here is a video of me playing the deck if anyone wants to see it in action
(sorry for my bad English)

Nice list. :)
But i have a question you might help me with: I just wanted to make a malygoslock on my own and come up to the point where i do not know if curse of rafaam scales up his damage or not. This sounds dumb, but it would be amazing if, so you get at least a bit more burn than the soulfire and hellfire.
Good deck to go for legend this season, but I think you may consider this as a change:
- Corruption + Blastcrystal Potion
- Second-Rate Bruiser + Chillmaw
- Netherspite Historian + Shadowflame
I tried this deck out to see how well it would perform on the ladder right now, and I am not gonna lie, I was pretty surprised about the results we got! not only is it fun to play but it works pretty damn well :D
Here is a video showcasing the deck, Which I hope you enjoy!!
Eh, kiwi? New account?!
kibler used to play kinda of this list like a month ago, idk why is it getting that much attention now, bc the meta hasn't changed. So, if you are looking into climbing, this deck wont work on >5 ranks.
buuuuuuuut if you are in rank 5 and want to get in legend, this is a nice and unexpected deck, it usually confuses the oponent, so wp. nice list. congrats on your 400top
Nice deck, I still wanted to change a bit, so I cut out the Corruption and the Bruiser for a Shadowflame and a Chillmaw! Workin good so far! :)

Youtube- Player:
hey , deck looks nice but i dont have Ysera yet, is there a valid replacement?
edit: i'll craft her ASAP when i have the dust.
just crafted her and it works like a gem. day one and im already rank 15 hehe
Really good description. Can I translate your deck into Korean and move it to my blog?
