UPDATE: Due to the recent changes in Hearthstone, a "new" meta has begun with slightly slower decks being used on ladder. Because of this I changed my deck quite a bit to combat the slower decks.

This deck is by far my most consistent deck when it comes to laddering as I was able to get into top 10 with the deck. I feel like there isn't a single matchup that's not unwinnable. Granted there are matchups where it comes down to having the right card in hand or else your winning chance drops, but still winnable. This deck is basically similar to Jade Druid, where you draw cards, clear board, and put up Jade minions. The difference is that this deck can ramp up their jades faster because of the cheaper Brann Bronzebeard combo with the weapon. It also has a better chance of surviving against aggro decks due to the heals and AoEs. The hardest matchups are of course the aggro-type decks.
Tech Cards:
Earth Shock - This card can be replaced with Bloodlust if you find this card dead around your ranks. But this card has been performing very well for me. It helps deal with rogue, shaman, and pirate warrior. It also insta-kills Twilight Drake which helps against dragon priest and renolock. It kills Bloodmage Thalnos to prevent that extra card draw. Just an overall good card. But if it's not performing well for you, again you can replace it with Bloodlust for a more aggressive approach to this deck.
Devolve - This card helps against the low cheap heavy board against shaman. Seeing their Tunnel Trogg and Flamewreathed Faceless become puny minions is an amazing feeling. But realistically, this is to help deal with conceal rogues.
Mana Tide Totem - An extra totem to help summon Thing from Below and gives you card draw AND forces your opponent to deal with makes it an awesome card.
Healing Wave - An extra heal that can most likely give you 14 extra health against aggro decks or help keep one of your giant jade minions alive is really strong at the moment.
Jinyu Waterspeaker - This card can keep a minion alive in control matchups or help you stay alive against aggro decks. This with Brann Bronzebeard against aggro decks will usually seal the game for you.
Harrison Jones - A weapon removal is nearly a must nowadays in this meta. Harrison gives you an extra card draw potential, a decent 5/4 body, and removes a weapon. If this card is too slow for you, you can replace it with Acidic Swamp Ooze. But for now, it's been performing well.
Mulligan:
- Shaman (Slightly-Heavily Favored)
- You need to mulligan as if you are facing aggro shaman, unless you know your opponent's decklist. You want some kind of AoE (Lightning Storm or Maelstrom Portal), a weapon (Jade Claws, and either Hex or Devolve.
- If you are not facing aggro shaman, then you want to mulligan for your jade cards and try to be ahead in ramping the jade minions.
- Warrior (Slightly Favored)
- You need to mulligan as if you are facing pirate warrior, unless you know your opponent's decklist. You want some kind of AoE (Lightning Storm or Maelstrom Portal), a weapon (Jade Claws, and either Hex, Devolve, or Earth Shock. This deck can survive beyond turn 7 so being able to do the Brann Bronzebeard and Jinyu Waterspeaker seals the deal for you. Healing Wave will usually work out for you as well.
- Against dragon warrior, you want to be careful about your health total as draknoid crusher can activate. Dragon warrior's biggest weakness is their lack of draw, so once they commit to their board, you just need to wipe it and you will most likely win the game from there. Other than that, ramp your jades.
- Against control warrior, you have an autowin. You just ramp your jades and not overextend the board to Brawl.
- Rogue (Even)
- This matchup really depends on if you have an answer to their minions. Questing Adventurer and edwin van cleef are game-ending if you can't deal with it, which is why I decided to run 1 Earth Shock. You want to mulligan as if you are facing miracle rogue. You want to look for Jade Claws, Maelstrom Portal, Jade Lightning, and either Earth Shock, Hex or Devolve. While removing their threats, you want to ramp your jades, and you will eventually win the game. Make sure to keep track of their potential burst damage.
- Warlock (Slightly Favored)
- This matchup seems slightly favored but you can increase your chances by running Bloodlust in your deck if you so happen to face reno warlock a lot. You want to mulligan as if you are facing reno warlock. You want to look for Brann Bronzebeard, Mana Tide Totem, Hex, and Jade Claws or Jade Spirit or Aya Blackpaw. Don't overextend the board to their numerous AoEs, especially Twisting Nether.
- Mage (Slightly-Heavily Favored)
- This matchup seems really easy to me but it could be the luck of the draw for me. You want to mulligan as if you are facing reno mage. You want to look for Brann Bronzebeard, Mana Tide Totem, Jade Claws, Jade Lightning, Jade Spirit, Aya Blackpaw, or jade cheftain. You just want to ramp up your jades and you win the game from there as mage cannot remove all the jades as the game progresses.
- Priest (Even-Slightly Favored)
- This matchup can be really tough but it comes down to you being able to ramp your jades fast enough, while at the same time remove their board. You want to mulligan as if you are facing dragon priest. You want to look for Jade Lightning, Mana Tide Totem, Devolve or Earth Shock, and any of the jade mechanics. This matchup requires some thinking for sure.
- Against reno priest, you are heavily favored and just ramp your jades.
- Druid (Slightly Unfavored-Even)
- This matchup is the toughest matchup of them all for sure. You can edge out the win against jade druid if you run Bloodlust. Without that card, you can still win, but it's definitely harder to do so. I still think you are very slightly favored when facing jade druid but it's the combo druid that just autowins against this deck. You want to mulligan as if you are facing jade druid. You want to be looking for Jade Claws, Jade Spirit or Jade Lightning, Mana Tide Totem, and Brann Bronzebeard. Harrison Jones is quite useless here so if you are facing a lot of druids, you can sub it out for something like White Eyes as a replacement. You just want to ramp up faster than druid, so they are forced to use all their cards where they will eventually be playing top deck hearthstone. Totems are a real pest for them.
- Against combo druid, I'm not sure how to beat them without running Bloodlust. With that card, it's certainly doable. My initial thoughts are to just ramp as fast as possible but I'm not entirely sure.
- Paladin (Heavily Favored)
- I don't have too much experience against paladin due to the lack of paladin players. You want to mulligan as if you are facing murloc paladin. You want to look for Hex, Mana Tide Totem, Brann Bronzebeard, Maelstrom Portal or Lightning Storm and any of the jade mechanics. You want to either hex both Murloc Warleader or both Bluegill Warrior. This will shut down their win condition. I would aim for the Murloc Warleader as the paladin can run Bluegill Warrior into a minion to play around Hex. The AoEs are specifically for buff paladin in case you so happen to face one of them.
- Hunter (Heavily Favored)
- I only played 1 game against Hunter, which I won. You just want to mulligan for Maelstrom Portal or Lightning Storm, Jinyu Waterspeaker and Jade Claws. Clear their board and you win.
FAQ:
- Have you tried fitting White Eyes into the deck?
- Yes. If you want to fit White Eyes into the deck, I recommend you remove 1 Azure Drake for it. You lose a card draw and an extra spell damage, but you don't weaken your jade ramp. I am starting to lean into running this version instead of the current one as the extra taunt with a big body later on helps both aggro and control matchups.
- Why do you run Harrison Jones over Acidic Swamp Ooze?
- Harrison Jones is an insane value card when it's able to remove a weapon, draw cards, and put out a decent 5/4 body on the board. Yes, the downside to running the card is "slow," but we are running this deck more like a control-esque deck. If you have better success with Acidic Swamp Ooze then by all means, use that card.
- Can I replace Brann Bronzebeard and/or Aya Blackpaw?
- You can probably replace Brann Bronzebeard with a late game minion like Ragnaros the Firelord. Aya Blackpaw is irreplacable.
- What do you think about running 2 Devolve into the deck?
- I have tried running 2 Devolve before running just 1 Earth Shock and 1 Devolve and it just didn't fit right. The 2 Devolve felt clunky, where I wouldn't even play the 2nd one. So I substituted it out for an Earth Shock and my win percentage increased dramatically.
- What's your thoughts on Bloodlust?
- It's a very strong card that strengthens your win percentage against non-aggro decks. However, it's a dead card against aggro decks and since the meta is more towards aggro decks, I do not run the card. If the meta shifts, where the aggro decks die down, then maybe I would revert to running a Bloodlust in the deck.
Leave a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
How necessary is an Aya Blackpaw in this deck? Because I don't have one. I think I'll use it as a tech slot for now, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate them.
holy shiet dude, i was rank 13 when i started with this deck and now im 13-2 rank 9 and continue streaking only change i had was taking out 1 mana tide totem and adding bloodmage thalnos, this deck is so gewd thank you <3
Pretty good deck on rank 5 to legend!!! Now I have 7:0 with it!!!!!! :D
Really like this deck, but what do we replace spirit claws with now that it's nerfed? tunnel trogg?
Or is spirit claws still a good card to run?
I've changed this deck significantly due to the nerfs and the "new" meta. I'll be updating it soon!
from 15 to 17. NEVER DRAW THE GODDAMN HEALS
Thanks for this deck.It is really consistent I climbed to rank 4 pretty easily.
And a question what do you think is the best replacment for Bloodmage Thalnos I replaced him with mana tide totem
can Maelstorm be replacement? i dnt have it
Nahh I just find Harrison Jones is really good tech card , I play with renolock and I draw 7 cards with his Jaraxxus xD
Very nice deck, just climbed from 17-14 in 1 streek with it :)
Am really liking the Earth Shock, its just not something they expect :)
I also prefer Harrison Jones over Acidic Swamp Ooze, especially when playing against Warriors, its easy 5 card draw + a nice body :)
Have you considered swapping both Azure Drake for something else?
Extremely good deck. Ranked from 11 - 5 with almost a continuous win streak.
This deck only struggles with renolock when they have the answers to all your jades/ kazakus potions, dragon priest when they have a good start, and jade druid. However, it is shamanstone, so you rarely see those decks anyways. With all the AOES and weapons, I've rarely lost to aggro shaman or pirate warrior.
Hi :)
I tried out this deck controlish deck and sadly it did not work for me as good as I would have expected. I recorded like 6 +/- games and I lost them all. I was checking the replays for missplays but I did not find some enormous things in my opinion. The only thing I am not really sure is whether I should play Harrisons on the spirit claws in this certain situation.
Anyway I wanted to upload the video to hear some other opinions and maybe improve my gameplay :) So check it out!
Really awful deck. Don't bother with this one people
Lightning Bolt or [card]tunnel trogg[/card] for example
Not Bad
This is an extremely good deck. Lots of good decisions to make, and it got me from rank 6 to rank 1 in a few days. Once I hit rank 1, it stalled out though, not sure if it lost the element of surprise or the quality of my opponents got better.
I switched out to dragon priest at rank 1 and made it to my first legend. Thanks for creating the deck and the guide!
What is the hardest counter for this deck?
kun aviana combo druid
i love kun aviana combo druid. do you know some list?
I just want to thanks you for this deck, i made from 12 rank to 6 in about 2 hours! The deck is reeeeally strong *_*
My thoughts about the match-ups: against aggro shaman i have never lose, we just keep a weapon, healing wave/some heal, AoE damage and mulligan other things. We just can't lose, we outvalue them and that's the same against pirate warrior and aggro in general. Against control like Reno Mage and Priest, it's easy because we outvalue them in late with jades that cannot stop. Against Priest dragon is pretty difficult because if he sets up a too fast race he can easily take down us, beacuse his minions are really big and powerful and come out at early stages of the game, when we are still building the hand. The really, really, reeeeeeeeeally, R E A L L Y hard match-up is renolock. Against it, i won only a game out of 5, it has answers for like everything we have in hand and his board control is amazing: at early stages he can place too much value on board and it's really difficult to catch up. The only time i won that match-up, was beacuse i really ran fast on jades, but was a close game too and the draws decided the winner.
Hope everyone will find this comment useful, for every question answer here! You can also find me in game, i'm Oceano#21696
Good luck boyz! :3
