Hello everyone! I'm Spark, Legend player from France. Today I wanted to share with you my updated Control Shaman, which is designed to beat consistently Aggro decks while still keeping up against Reno decks.
As always, it runs the full set of board clears to annihilate the swarm of aggro decks. You also have access to a solid healing potential thanks to Healing Wave and Hallazeal the Ascended. On top of that, I'm also running Earth Elemental with a single Ancestral Spirit to prevent further aggression.
With all the overload cards in the deck, Lava Shock is a natural choice to compensate the downside while adding a little bit of damage to control some minions. Lightning Bolt help dealing with early aggression and Hex is obviously here to deal with stronger threats.
Besides the standard set of Control tools, I chose to run something different from my previous N'Zoth, the Corruptor variant. This time I'm using Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound instead!
As I want to optimize the chance of getting a solid Barnes play, the deck almost only runs valuable targets for it! That's why I chose to run Ancestral Knowledge and Feral Spirit instead of Azure Drake and Thing from Below.
To make use of Barnes and Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, I chose to run solid win conditions : White Eyes, Emperor Thaurissan, Sylvanas Windrunner, Ragnaros the Firelord and Ysera.
Update
As the Miracle Rogue matchup felt really annoying and Aggro Shaman gave me a little bit more issue than expected in the long run, I tweaked the deck a little bit.
I'm now running Devolve to deal better with Miracle Rogue boards and Shaman Aggro when you can't really clear them properly.
Stormcrack comes in to deal with 4-health minions such as Totem Golem and Azure Drake.
Finally, I added the second Ancestral Spirit for its synergy with the win conditions and Barnes summoning mechanic.
Replacements
Please don't ask for replacements, I know the deck is pretty expensive but it's just impossible to find similar win conditions in term of value and synergy.
However, If you only lack 2 of the final conditions, it is possible to replace them with a combination of Cairne Bloodhoof and N'Zoth, the Corruptor. And if you only lack one you can run this set up as well by giving up on Ancestral Spirit. Malygos is also a fine win condition although a bit more situational.
Matchups & Mulligan
I've written a full in-depth guide about the deck at Good Gaming. I definitely recommend to give it a check if you want to learn how to pilot the deck properly.

Results
I'm eating Aggro decks all day long with this build and Reno decks aren't really an issue. Jade Druid is obviously an awful matchups as the Jade Golem are just getting out of Control.
I hit Legend on EU during S34 using mostly this deck. Here are my win-rates :
Gameplay Video
Here is a cool win streak I've had on stream facing some aggro decks and a renolock (french commentary)
Bonus : N'Zoth Jade Variant
As a bonus, here is my other Control Shaman build, which is centered around N'Zoth and Jade synergies : Jade Zoth Control Shaman
The deck also counters pretty well aggro decks but feels slightly less efficient to me, feel free to try it as well ;)
Closing
I hope you'll enjoy the deck as much as I do and maybe it can help you reach Legend this season. Don't forget to show your support by upvoting the deck if you liked and don't hesitate to discuss about it or ask any question in the comment section below ;)

Hi, Just wanna let u know that im having a lot of fun with this deck :) some combos are insane ! really frustrating for your oppenent sometimes :)
Thanks! keep having fun :D
Replacement for Hallazeal the Ascended?
None, Jinyu Waterspeaker is fine but far from optimal
This is THE BEST CONTROL DECK i've played this meta - it crushes aggro scum with ease from rank 9-6** in 1 hour
Ahah yeah pure anti-aggro :D Thanks glad you enjoy ;)
Hi Sparks,
how is the deck working for you? What rank did you manage to get with it? I just fell from r1 to r4 on EU. :(
Did you copy paste this deck and then take it into ladder, or did you play this deck for 30 games in casual to learn it?
LOL, did somebody pissed in your cereal this morning?
I've played shaman sicne HS launch and the last 1-2 years I only play control shaman 95% of the time on the ladder. Made legend with a control deck recently, too. I don't need to test decks in casual to see if they're working or not.
Nah just asking. Lots of people just take the deck off the front page, and misplay for days because they don't understand the type of deck they are playing. But I sounds like you do, so no gripes there.
It got me from Rank 7 to Rank 2 with no problem, was facing many aggro at that time so it helps. Stopped and went to try other things after facing too much Miracle Rogue
Just won from an aggro warrior after he conceded to T4 Barnes > Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound > Y'Shaarj Rage Unbound.
Deck is fun, sadly I'm still waiting for some dust for White Eyes. Currently have replaced him with Soggoth the Slitherer who has helped me through some reno matchups..
Not as good from Barnes but it's a decent replacement
I often get Barnes into Earth Elemental, so I cut one and added Cairne
Could be fine if you're not facing too many aggro ;)
Otherwise I don't recommend, but I know your feel bro, Barnes like playing against odds xD
Good vs Aggro, garbage vs. everything else.
Don't think.
Yeah Malygos works well in that deck ;)
Hey Spark,
Just wanted to as, is the 2nd earth elemental worth crafting, as i (can't remember when but) disenchanted it to make another legendary.
If it isnt, is he replacable with stuff like Bog Creeper?/ Rag?
I'd honestly just answer he is the best option. Bog Creeper may be a decent replacement indeed, but far from it
