Hello guys, I've recently hit rank 1 legend on EU with 30-6 record in the final run and I'd like to share some knowledge with anyone that would like to try this awesome deck!
In general, this version performs really well vs. all Patches decks (especially Shaman and Warrior, but it's fine against Rogue as well despite most Reno decks struggling vs. Rogue in general.
It's still super strong vs. both Reno and Dragon Priest and Control Warrior and you are also slightly favored in Reno Mage match-up. Your bad match-ups are going to be most Druids and mirror in case your opponent runs the Leeroy-Faceless-POW combo. Hunter and Paladin don't really exist on high ranks and you should do well against them simply because of currently lacking overall power level of these classes.
Cards I am not running which are commonly used:
Combo (POW, Leeroy, Faceless) - all these cards are next to dead when facing Patches decks, so by not having them you improve these match-ups a ton. Combo is a very good way to close out longer games, but Jaraxxus can do the same job and you only invest one card, so you got two more slots to use. Separate pieces are OK in some situations (e.g. dealing with big minions) but I feel they are just not doing enough. I definitely suggest including the combo if playing mirrors gives you headaches otherwise. :)
Ragnaros - I prefer running as few win conditions as possible in order to get decent early/midgame, it would make a great addition if there were a lot Mages, Locks and Druids in the meta.
Sylvanas - Another expensive minion that's decent vs. slower decks (Reno Lock and Druid), although it's super awkward against Rogue since they can Sap her and control Shamans are running Hex, so the meta is really Sylvanas-unfriendly at the moment.
Shadowflame- Almost auto-include according to many players, but with absence of Power Owerwhelming and also Sylvanas this card performs much worse. Without POW I believe Hellfire, Twisted Nether, Abyssal Enforcer and even Felfire Potion are better AOE choices.
Blastcrystal Potion - The problem with this card is that destroying a crystal really hurts you unless it's turn 8-10. Clearly the deck really needs a way of handling big minions, but I feel Corruption serves this purpose much better.
Felfire Potion - I've played this card a lot over Abyssal and the only match-up in which it seemed better was Rogue, where dealing with 4 toughness minions is a huge deal, while against everything else an extra 6/6 body is totally worth investing an additional mana.
Spellbreaker - If I had to add 31st card, this would be the choice, he is great vs. Rogue (Edwin is quite an issue) and in Mirror (Twilight Drake, Faceless Shambler), but he is underwhelming vs. aggro (it's way too easy to kill for a 4 mana card) and not great against Mage, Priest and Druid.
Cards I am running which might seem argueable:
Mountain Giant - best card in match-ups that you go turn 2+3 Life Tap instead of developing board early. It's generally uncastable vs. Patches decks, but same goes for the likes of Ragnaros, and Gaint is simply faster and more threatening when facing controls.
Faceless Shambler - In my opinion it's an auto-include if you run Mountain Giant. With it you can go double 8/8 on turn 7 against slower decks, which is incredibly hard to deal with.
Defender of Argus - Having access to more taunts is often game-defining vs. all aggro decks, especially Pirate Warrior. It's also important to have a couple taunts ready so you don't die after playing Jaraxxus, which leaves you unable to heal back to 30 with Reno.
Soulfire - Probably the worst card in current version, but it's still providing good tempo swings since there is a number of appealing targets in the meta (Azure Drake, Tomb Pillager, Frothing Berserker, Totem Golem, to list a few) and you can fill the curve with it really nicely.
Jaraxxus - Since I've cut the combo I was looking for a reliable win condition, a thing the Eredar Lord is insanely good at. You beat many decks senseless (Priest, control Warrior) with this card alone. It's also decent against Mage, since burning you down from 15 is not that easy for them (especially if you bait out a Fireball earlier during the game) and it's literally impossible for them to outgrind a two-mana 6/6 every turn.
Corruption - No it's not a joke. When thinking about the meta, I felt Reno Lock has 2 problems: it has really hard time removing cheap, overpowered minions (Trogg, Totem Golem, Small-Time Buccaneer etc.) and after the nerf of Big Game Hunter, it's really difficult to deal with big threats like Edwin, Giant, Ragnaros, Flame-Wreathed Faceless. Obviously if you use Corruption, these minions will connect to your face once, but if you imagine all the possible scenarios, the card fits in pretty nicely and my winrate significantly improved after including it in the deck. (Over 80% winrate during climb that early in the season is really rare for me)

Well, is it bad that a card you play for 3-5 mana soaks a hard removal or force the opponent to trade his board against it? When you drop it it demands removing and unlike Rag you can play it way earlier and cheaper.

Lets talk about the video. I have met a jade druid which is considered as bad matchup and I did not win sadly. I would like you guys to ask what would you do differently or what would not you do at all. There were a lot of opinions and to be honest the reno decks are quite hard so I did not know exactly what to do... and I need some advice from you guys! Please help me with that :)

What is the point of playing [card]Emperor Thaurissan[/card] since you have no combo in this version?
Its just a standard renoloc.. nothing innovaitve with this list
This is not standard at all. Corruption and Voidwalker have seen no play in Renolock. Both shadowflame and Sylvanas have been auto includes in most people's build. If you took the time to read his description you would've easily seen the differences.
I played some games with this deck after I forgot to put Reno in the deck . (I know - facepalm) . The card I had instead was shadowflame .
Amazingly I was still able to win some games in a row vs a priest, a pirate warrior and 2 rogues . The early game cards help a TON .
Guys, I need help. Every time I build a renolock deck, I end up scoring 0-10. I am a consistent rank 5 player excelling in playing aggro and midrange/tempo decks but I'm cursed with control ones. Can you give me some advice how I should change my mind set in order to start winning games with control decks? :/
When you play face decks you try to win . With reno decks you are looking for the best way to prevent your opponent from winning .
You are a consistent rank 5 player playing pirate warrior? That's a no brain deck and that's why you can't play control decks after just playing aggro and curve decks
well if you play a lot of aggro and midrange decks, you should have an idea how the opponent tries to kill you and what cards he has, so now it is your turn to think what your answers are to those cards and manage your removals and heals wisely. Other than that it is just practice. But most aggro decks right now and midrange decks require a lot less thinking (playing aggro used to be more difficult [old hunter, older aggro shamans]) compared to control decks because with control decks you are mostly playing reactive and small mistakes can cost you the game.

I apologize, long post/rant incoming.
The fundamental difference between control decks and midrange/tempo is that in a control deck you don't play stuff to maximize your tempo/mana usage, you play to maximize resources. In a midrange deck if its turn 4 and you have a 4-drop, you're pretty much always going to play it, but in control your goal is to, well, control the game, so you play things only in response to what your opponent is doing. That's where that classic joke of a control warrior mirror being HP+pass for 5 turns in a row. Of course in the matchup against aggro you probably will be playing stuff most or every turn to contest/clear the board, but its still in the mindset that you're game plan is simply to prevent your opponent from achieving theirs.
If you want a concrete example, say you're playing a renolock mirror, and your opponent plays a courier on 3 going into your turn 4. Sure you could play that Kazakus now and you will control the board, but it's almost always preferable to save it to play with Bran to get more value out of it, and even if your only other play is HP+pass, its ok to be mana inefficient and take a bit of damage from the board before getting a higher value board clear. This might be a bit of an obvious example and most of the time its more subtle, but I think a lot of the trouble I have with control decks, and renolock in particular is this kind of thing. Also renolock is different than true control decks in that you often do just drop say a twilight drake on 4 even if the board is empty, so in that sense it does sometimes play a bit like a midrange deck, as apposed to control warrior which would happily hold on to all of its cards until their hand is full or the opponent plays something to deal with. The balance of this is definitely a hard thing to manage.
Also for the record, I'm far from the best renolock player, so maybe this advice/rant should be taken with a grain of salt, but most of the mistakes I find myself making are exactly along these lines of forgetting that my game plan is (usually) about resources and not tempo. Hopefully this helps!
If you want my advice forget hitting face. Face is not the place when playing control. Focus on making smart trades. The control game is a lot slower.
Not sold on Soulfire. The deck feels very strong except for that card. The thing is it is clunky AF when you have Jaraxxus, Reno, Kazakus, Kazakus Potion on your hand. I am currently running Kabal Courier instead with mixed results. I am probably going to try Spellbreaker and PO too instead and see how it works.
Spellbreaker seems to be the best replacement.
