BRM Strategy

Mulligan Guide: Coren Direbrew will amass a huge lineup and kill you in a matter of turns, if you are not careful. When you mulligan against him it is best if you can draw a Fan of Knives to deal with his Get 'em! in case he plays it. Otherwise, you want to throw back any minions you draw, because you don't want any of them in your starting hand. You will usually never survive long enough to actually cast them and must rely on Coren's special ability to put them on the board for you.

You don't want to spend too much time killing minions or you risk getting quickly overwhelmed or hit with a Brawl. If you have an opportunity to make a favorable trade on the first turn or anytime he gets a Stormwind Champion, then you should take it.

After your first turn you should definitely be focused on smashing his face the rest of the game. It is not unusual for him to Execute any of your more threatening minions. If you cast Kel'Thuzad he will often get destroyed immediately. It's best if you can manage to cast a Conceal with him on the board, just so you can keep him alive.

You should use your Gang Ups on any of your own minions, but it's particularly awesome if you can copy Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound. If things are going badly for him he will usually Brawl, even if he doesn't have a Dark Iron Bouncer on the board.

BRM Deck Notes

I realize that many of you may not have crafted Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound. He isn't absolutely critical to this deck, but he is an excellent way to catch up to Coren when he is gaining two minions for every one you get. If you have to make a switch you should be able to replace him or Kel'Thuzad with any other large minion. If you'd like to try another deck, just check out the suggestions below.
