Wow, I really didn't expect this much attention, 'I shall write this guide for thee, and thee shall destroy ALL!'
**There have been a few changes to make the deck slightly more consistent**
A happy 2017 to everyone!
Introduction;
First of all, Screw this current Meta right?
I am Papi, Commander of the 300 large spartan army and bringer of the light in this once again so fast agro meta which leaves little room for fun control decks. I am really amazed by all the positive response and decided I shall write a guide to help thee play this deck because it does require some insights on both the game in general, as well as the deck itself.
General playstyle;
The general idea for this deck depends highly on what match up you are playing. 'Resident sleeper' - style is a way to win matches by just building a huge wall of armor but sometimes you want to contest the board heavily early on and thus choose minions over armor, make your opponent use his removals / minions to try and keep board control eventually running out of steam. Playing a Reno Jackson or Ancient Shieldbearer (especially in combination with Brann) will completely shatter their hopes and win you those games (mostly).
General Muligan;
Try not to aim for big combo's. Since you only have 1 of each card in your deck it will be very hard to pull this off. You want to aim to draw tools that help you survive the early game and run big taunts at turn 4-5-6.
It is very important to not muligan for just a few cards, don't be greedy, and always try to think of what your opponent might muligan for and how much dmg you might need to remove whatever he is playing. Since everyone is playing the same copy-paste decks nowadays expecting a certain will mostl likely not that hard to do. Muligan with this deck is more about what cards not to throw away then what card to look for. Yes having a Fiery War Axe to play on turn 2 will most likely win the game for you if you have just 1 taunt to follow it up with on turn 4-5 but when you do not have the War Axe in hand, realize the chances of drawing one is actually small. This goes for all cards in the muligan list and you should never be to greedy with your muligan. WORK WITH THE TOOLS PRESENTED TO YOU!
Muligan: "Acolyte of Pain, Fiery War Axe, Beckoner of Evil, Disciple of C'Thun, Second-Rate Bruiser, Reno Jackson."
***I will include more cards in the 'Playstyle vs Aggro / Control" section because it is essential to Muligan based on what kind of opponent you expect! ***
Playstyle vs Aggro / Midrange / Control;
Vs Aggro:
When playing vs Aggro there are some extra cards to Muligan: Whirlwind, Ravaging Ghoul, Slam, Second-Rate Bruiser, and if your hand allows it even Shield Slam since they will not play big minions and having some early removal / board clear will most of the times win you the game.
Your goal is to clear the board with, make them run out of steam and once you get past turn 5 you usually just keep playing big taunts, armor up and/or play Reno. The usually concede when the Reno is played and should do so because once that HP is back at 30, there is no way they'll ever come back on top.
Vs Midrange:
The Midrange matchup is the worst in my opinion. You'll muligan for C'Thun enablers and your best friend will be Brawl. In the match up you should always try to contest the board with your big taunt minions or Fiery War Axe.
You should be the agressor, try to keep board control and not let them overun you with a full board of high hp minions. If this happens you'll most likely lose the game unless you have Brawl at the right moment. These matches can be decided by a good Brawl and also lost when used to early. Try to go face as much as possible and finnish the game with a good C'Thun turn. Also, playing Brann Bronzebeard into you Twin Emperor Vek'lor is a very valueable combo to try and pull off to contest with the big minions he'll play. It sometimes is also worth it using brann just to buff up your C'Thun faster.
Vs Control:
In the Control match up, Muligan for the C'thun enablers as well as some removal. You want to be the initiator but never commit to much minions to the board. play minions you wouldn't care to much for when they get removed. Most of your C'thun buff cards are always a good choice since they give some pressure and do their job with mostly battelcries that will enable you to play your big C'thun minions like Twin Emperor Vek'lor and Ancient Shieldbearer.
Your "plan A" win condition is playing a C'Thun into Doomcaller as best scenario and have them survive for at least 1 turn because they have run out of removals. "plan B" win condition would be winning the Fatigue war by for instance creating (by use of Whirlwind and bloodwarriors) 2 Reno Jacksons, C'Thuns or Brann Bronzebeard a Doomcaller / C'Thun.
Replacements;
Don Han'Cho - Ragnaros the Firelord (Don is somewhat more greedy, but I really like the card in this deck).
Brann Bronzebeard - maybe... Youthful Brewmaster (but Brann is pretty essential for the deck)
Emperor Thaurissan - Sadly there is no real replacement for the reduction of costs of cards in your hand that enables you to play brann and doomcaller or sometimes even C'thun brann in 1 turn :(.
*I have thought about replacing 1 Doomsayer for a second brawl in the Jade druid / Handlock matchups if you are facing a lot of those. You won't usually have to Reno untill you've almost played all your cards in those match ups and having a second brawl, (especially in combination with sylvannas), could be a huge advantage over the doomsayer that will just get destroyed in 1 turn by either big 8-8's or a cheezy removal spell.*

*Might Upload a video of myself playing this deck sometimes, In the meantime feel free to post a video of you crushing your oh so astounded, hopelessly destroyed enemies! <3
Much love, Papi <3.
Hey guys! I decided to try out this deck cuz my friend was still talking about it and I wanted to try it in action! I have made few changes that I am saying in the video. It was super-fun but I managed to win only two games, one of them is included in the video - a crazy reno warlock. Another win was vs a weird priest guy Lolz.
So check it out and if you liked it consider supporting me via upvoting/liking or subscribing to my channel!
See ya :)
Hey all,
I've been looking for a new warrior deck that actually uses some more the class cards so I gave this one a try and I got crushed. 0 - 12.
Every deck tore me apart, this deck is WAY to slow, the board get over taken so fast you can never keep up or break even and agro deck are impossible. I have played against all of the current popular decks, jade, buf-i-din, reno . . . you name it and you never EVER get a leg up. With only a few early game cards you never get a foot hold on the game and even long games you don't have enough to last.
I'm no good at making decks so its hard for me to complain about them but this deck in the current meta isn't good at all I'm afraid. I really wanted to like it but it never comes even close.
Sorry but thanks for trying but no go on this one.
Good deck, only downside is that it can't beat other decks. Otherwise thumbs up
so much fun im enjoying this deck a lot, it has its ups and downs i haven't tried it ladder yet took out han cho for sylvana i think she has a better result than buffing, but kudos man im enjoying the deck a lot thank you thank you :)
i'm liking this deck so far expect i find Brann Bronzebeard to almost never be used i know it works great with that taunt but i have never done it. Also im finding myself a lot of games not getting my c'thun to 10-10 and never being able to use my cards right... bad luck at drawing i think. Only card im missing is Don Han'Cho
This deck sucks really hard against shaman and drood tho.... and they're everywhere on the ladder.
Edit : this also sucks pretty damn hard against every other reno decks, since they have Kazakus, the most powerful and dumb card of this expansion.
Ok I do have to say, this deck definitely makes for some epic games. Now I did play a few games with this and I had a ton of fun playing it. That was this morning. I was having some concerns with a few cards, and I am glad that you are constantly changing the deck to update to the best version.
That being said I did record a couple of games for a deck showcase episode, from the version that was up this morning. I hope you guys enjoy it and keep on having fun with this deck :D
Thanks a ton for the fun deck mate and keep em coming!
Amazing!
After some lucky arena packs, got Twin Emperor Vek'lor, and feltsad, because since I came back played 3 months of budget C'thun Druid and Mage always praying for him... I though I would not be able to use him after whishing it so much before. The only option I knew was the Aviana-Kun druid thing, and not having Aviana nor intending to dust them, seemed the Twins would be just a piece of collection.
Today got an awful Arena run, but the MSoG pack compensated for it: Don Han'Cho... I had doubts, but decided to filter warrior decks containing him, and then saw Thijs wall one and this... Sparta? Decided to take a look and my eyes shined: not only a popular deck, but also a C'thun one!!!! OH YEAH!!! This site was telling me I was 400 dust away from it... Oh... Crazed Worshiper? Doesn't seem that much replaceable... Crafted.
First run, I was to do testing on casual, but forgot to switch... Aggro shaman... Easy done. Then got two Jade Druids... are they still ou there? Shouldn't they be hiding scared of the Aggro Swarm? No need to say the result. Two mid range shamans, one I was completely disarmed... Other had everything but the Brawl and got screwed by a Bloodlust that burst me down, had gotten a Brawl: easy win, I've dealt with most of his kit... But despite the run was confident. Then other Shaman, this time aggro, no problem.
Finally a Renolock... WOW, this one taught me a lot about this deck. Nice fight till around turn 12, with Doomcaller at hand threw my first C'thun, he removed it with Blastcrystal Potion, played Doomcaller he got hurt a bit and next turn I topdeck Blood Warriors... OH... WAIT... Decided to play it... a bit more dueling, Second C'Thun came... cleared some minor threats, he was in the danger zone already, Siphon Soul on C'Thun... I go Doomcaller jumps in... He goes Jaraxxus... Hit him. He got so desperate to damage me, that he even threw away his Leeroy Jenkins agains it... I had 2 taunts left so survived... Third C'thun? Was last card in the deck... And fatigue math was too clear now: opponent conceded!
If Blood Warriors got so much value from Doomcaller... I'm so anxious to see the value on C'Thun himself. My question is: if I copy a damaged C'thun to my hand, first C'thun dies and and I play Doomcaller before the second one, does it shuffle it too? After all there's a dead C'thun in the "graveyard". May look like one case scenario, but may happen, opponent has a board with some damaged threats, you play C'thun because the odds are good to clear his board and deal him some damage, then he plays Reno + cheap Taunt, can't finish him, Can't burst him yet, but can trade with C'thun and copy it for a second round... Back to back C'thun dream lives on!
EDIT: And last, I see room for this to keep doing good post rotation, not as a singleton like now, but with some duplicates... Let's see what new release brings. But may be workable around.
This deck provides SO MUCH fun
And also it seems pretty viable, though I miss some, as I think, key cards - Justicar Trueheart or Grommash Hellscream
Grommash Hellscream is a good finisher or burst. Maybe Ragnaros the Firelord can be a good replacement, not the same, but extremely valuable too.
Justicar Trueheart That one double hurts... First it's irreplaceable: his value puts you a step closer to immortality... Second it's going wild in a couple of months... Unless you intend to main this hard till then, and have plans to keep using it on wild... It may be a questionable dust investment. It's one of a kind, any replacement will do other things, no one close to those precious 4 armor per turn.
Yeah, I use Ragnaros the Firelord, sometimes it pushes the enemy really hard
But when it comes to survival, I run Doomsayer - it helps with dealing with early aggression and Acidic Swamp Ooze - surprised it was not in the decklist
And Sleep with the Fishes - IMO this deck lacks AOE, and that animation tho
really garbage deck tbh can't even win.
Certainly not the "best" deck. But I haven't had this much fun playing Hearthstone in a long time.
How come no ArmorSmith?
Control warrior cant beat jade druid instead. But how much of the ladder is jade druid? 1-10%, but over 30-40% is pathes, aggro and turn 5 lethal crap.
The only card I don't have is Twin Emperor Vek'lor which i had and disenchanted because thought C'thun decks are dead. Any replacements or unplayable?
This deck is a meme.
So fun.

Was wondering what's the highest rank you've achieved with this deck?
I am also wondering why you get downvoted so much xD
Basically because the deck kinda sucks I guess.
You have to be extremely lucky to counter aggro. You can't counter any jade mechanic, and only have 2 board clear, with one that requires you to be at 12 health where a lot of stuff can kill you.
