12/19/2018: And another nerf for this deck. I will keep Nourish and will test how it works out. Nonetheless the deck is quite a bit weaker now.
12/12/2018: Since the Aviana Nerf made Togwaggle and Star Aligner Druid much weaker I decided to give my Malygos Druid another shot. As long as there are not too many decks around with Dirty Rat it still works quite well so far.
Update Boomsday: With a heavy heart I decided that Boomsday is the first expansion for which I don't update this deck. Thanks to Psychmelon Togwaggle Druid is currently in a much stronger spot than Malygos Druid in Wild Mode.
04/12/2018: Updated the deck for Witchwood. Took out Alex for the version with 2x Faceless Manipulator. I also replaced Ultimate infestation since I had so many situation where it was a dead card. Even if I could play it my hand was so stacked, that I was not able to further cycle through my deck with my other draw cards.
03/01/2018: Just finished the Wild Brawliseum with 12 Wins with this deck.
09/10/2017: Made some Minor Changes. 2nd Doomsayer instead of Tar Creeper and Auctioneer instead of Azure Drake to have better draw. Nonetheless Earthen Scales are currently not in the setup, since the additional draw is not necessary and Feral Rage has more flexibility. Just made it to Rank 1 Legend with this deck.
could you possibly update for Uldum? The standard one is pretty good again. Maybe wild could also challenge again?
I spent 6400 in dust to create this account, and lost 19 in a row. Cant really say this is a nice deck and I got screwed out of all my dust
Practice is the key
it is nice to see that you have stuck with this deck over the months.
all i am missing is Fandral Staghelm, and Harrison Jones.
i know a lot of people would replace harrison for ooze, but honestly i dont think the ooze is good enough. what do you think?
Well, this deck brought me to the top, so it will always have a very special place in my collection. As long as it is viable in any way I will update it constantly.
Fandral can be replaced by Tar Creeper without too much quality loss. Harrison is just a tech card when you meet a lot of opponents with weapons and can be replaced by Starfall or Ferocious Howl, depending on if you would like to have additional AoE or draw. Ooze is not a good replacement because it gets recruited by Oaken Summons.
i replaced fandral with deathlord, I figured that it is harder to kill, and it totally ruins any other combo/battlecry deck. and deathlord can be recruited by oaken summons
You can use Deathlord if it works well for you. Since I meet many Giantlocks and Big Priests I currently would not recommend to run it.
i am currently at rank 15, and i am not seeing many, but i will keep that in mind for later.
nice to see how much you have stuck with this deck over the months.
i am only missing Fandral Stranghelm, and Harrison Jones
i know i lot of people would replace him with ooze, but i think the drawing, and the bigger body makes him so much better.
*edit* sorry for posting this 2 times, the first time nothing showed up, so i though that i made a mistake and it did not post.
Anything you can replace branching paths with?
Branching Path is a 100% staple in this deck. If you can afford it I would recommend to craft it since it greatly improves the deck.
If you don't have the ressources I would recommend to run 1 UI and 1 Ferocious Howl instead. You can also play Starfall instead of Ferocious Howl to have additional AoE.
I added additional information for Harrison in the description since he is purely a tech card. Currently I run Starfall to have an improved MU against even shaman. If you feel comfortable with UI it is fine to use it. I dont like dropping Moon Fires so I can cast UI. It can take longer to have enough combo damage when you drop them and you lose the option to burst for 19 dmg with Malygos + Living Roots + 2 x Moon Fire. But that is my personal opinion and playstyle. If you are succesful with UI there is no reason not to run it.
The meta is still shifting so it is really hard to predict how it will perform when the meta has settled. I also tested a lot of decks beside this one so I dont have much experience with it since Witchwood release.
It has a hard time against Cubelock, so it will not perform optimal as long as this deck is very popular. Paladins on the other hand are hard but managable.
I don't have Fandral, so I teched in a Starfall for a full board clear with Poison Seeds, pluss a Lesser Jasper Spellstone to help in the early game against aggro. Still learning the deck, 45-30 so far. Thanks!
If you don't have Fandral, I would advice to put in another 3 or 4 Mana Taunt. Either Tar Creeper or Sen'jin Shieldmasta. Otherwise an Oaken Summons becomes a bad card each time you draw an Ironwood Golem.
Starfall is a good addition but in many cases the 2/2 bodies don't bother me too much and even help to get better Spreading Plague results or keep the opponents board filled so he cannot play his scarier stuff.
You are right that the Spellstone helps against aggro. But what do you cut for it? Vs aggro you also have to use your combo spells as removal (even Moon Fire), because the win condition against these decks is not the combo but just to survive.
I'm running this list: http://prntscr.com/j5r3i4. Might add a Tar Creeper
So whats the difference of Alexstraza or Ixlid and a Faceless. Which one is better do you think?
I played Alexstrasza most of the time in the past. She is quite flexible to use offensively or defensively. Especially vs decks without Heal you can play her before having the whole combo and put the opponent under pressure with an 8/8 body on the board. Compared to Ixlid/Faceless or 2x Faceless you need one less combo piece for the whole combo which is a big advantage.
The advantage of Yxlid/Faceless or 2x Faceless is that you have a much higher burst potential. This is only relevant against opponents who can stack a lot of armor like druid or warrior. If you meet many of these it is better to run one of these options compared to Alexstrasza.
I personally prefer 2x Faceless over Ixlid/Faceless, since the burst is still high enough against armor classes and you have the option to play one faceless outside of the combo (e.g. copy a voidlord as a defensive option against Warlock).
I will update this deck with the Witchwood release and it will contain 2x Faceless instead of Alexstrasza since I meet a lot of Jade or Grinder Druids at the moment.
Why did you remove the Ultimate Infestation?
Nvm I just saw the reason.
