Deck built around swarming the enemy, with synergies built around the minions.
Has been built using only free cards(from this pool http://www.hearthpwn.com/cards?filter-set=2&display=1)
Features:
To swarm the board with many minions
Very good card even without its battlecry, can be extremly powerfull against any deck built around weapons(afak those decks are top tier)
To protect other weak and important minions as well as keeping hero safe in later stages of the game
Buffs to deal more damage with minions to the enemy, Blessing of Kings also should take care of keeping alive important minions
For board control
Cards that syregizes well with that deck. I like to call Raid Leader a small Savage Roar in Paladin deck. Frostwolf warlord gets bigger for every other friendly minion, this also counts Hero Power ones. Stormwind Champion is a "big bomb" late game card, also buffing other friendly minions
A little draw power.
I built this deck looking for a good, cheap, starter Paladin deck. I played 10 games with it and won 1. This deck may have been awesome, but I think it is a little outdated with the new expansion, because whenever I would get into a position to attack, the enemy had a way to wipe me out or stop me dead in my tracks. Played against other Paladins, Priests, Mages, Shamans and Druids and lost to them all. I only won the one against and Warrior.
I Just gave this Deck a whirl I'm new to the game and wasn't winning anything really. I stumbled upon this website and decided to give this deck a try because its been out for a long time, and the amount of positive reviews its received. Out of 3 ranked matches I won all three. I didn't even get half way through the matches and my opponents all Conceded. I played against a Priest, Warrior, and another Paladin.
I haven't won any games with this deck as well. This deck needs a little tweaking to compete with current decks. However I am winning more from one of my own custom Paladin decks. http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/371262-assailing-champion Overall the F2P is a good deck to use as a base for building your own.
Sorry, the deck you linked might be stronger, but it is also not F2P at all. It is simply not a basic deck.
In fact, despite it not being a very expensive deck, most of the cards are crafted, with only 5 exceptions. There's even a legendary in there, for crying out loud. If you're just getting started, you are most likely not gonna have access to those cards.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to take your deck for a spin, but being a starting player who is just learning how to play with the Paladin, I simply can't afford it... Not exactly fair comparing it to this one, which is a basic deck, built with basic cards that anyone can put together and try out.
As someone who refuses to pay good money on things that I DON'T really need, this deck is epic, and I've won a good chuck of games. I've been playing for about two and a half weeks now, and after finding this deck, I win maybe 60-70% AT LEAST in casual play. I've gone from rank 25- 20 in about 3-4 hours, with only two losses. (Yes I know these aren't specific values, but I haven't been keeping track that closely).
I just followed LeajaWijac's suggestions for the deck to try it that way, so we'll see how it goes. All in all, rank or win or lose, I'm having fun with the deck, and that's what's important right? :P
used this deck with no changes on a new account starting level 25 in ranked and I have already made 3 people rage quit and won 5 in a row and 6 of 7 to start
I'm by no means an expert, but I personally would recommend Trump's basic deck over this one. I mean just a simple look at stats tells you Trump's is considerably stronger when it comes to minions.
this deck is unbelievable even now, all haters try it, than come and talk crap, so besides that,
i wanna put "muster for battle" and "quartermaster" but i dont know what to replace, some sugestions please
This deck sucks so badly I'm wondering if it was meant as some kind of joke.
It was made nearly 9 months ago, back when the game was in beta. To say lots of things have changed since then is an understatement, I wouldn't even take this deck outside of AI mode, but I applaud you for trying it.
I did a slight modification to the original deck, both suggested by LeajaWijac and iLex due to new patches!
Although that means its not completely basic anymore, the core idea of this basic and well rounded deck is still very present... If you want to see the play style here's a video I made playing the deck:
Here are the changes:
-1 Acidic Swamp Ooze
-2 Dragonling Mechanic
-2 Lord of the Arena
-1 Stormwind Champion
-1 Raid Leader
-1 Frostwolf Warlord
+1 Hammer of Wrath
+2 Chillwind Yeti
+1 Boulderfist Ogre
+1 Guardian of Kings
+1 Sea Giant
+1 Sunwalker
+1 Faceless Manipulator
Did you try out this modification? How was it??
Just played this deck against a Warrior. He got some good cards, but I owned him easily. I summoned Frostwolf Warlord twice at the end. They were 9(10)/9 and 11(12)/11, which really pissed off my opponent.
But I can imaging this deck is going to be tough against any deck with wipe out cards, especially mage. I feel this deck is pretty good, but not all around.
I've played this deck since beta. It's good and it works. It definitely gets shut down by some decks, but for a completely free deck, it's hard to find anything better.
Changes I've made since acquiring more cards:
This deck is absolutely terrible. Why would people upvote this?
There are some nono cards in this deck that shouldn't be anywhere in constructed.
raid leader & lord of the arena.
Dire doggie is 100x better than raid leader and lord of the arena is a 6 drop taunt with 5 health....
ALERT to new players. Please do not play this deck and shame yourself on the ladder!
First of all, I just wanted to say that this deck is great. I've been streaming a lot of Paladin decks on Twitch lately and was getting bored with all the current top-rated Legendary decks because of how similar they all are. So as somewhat of a challenge to the few people in my stream I was like, "how about we see how good we can do on the ladder with a completely free to play Paladin deck." The funny part is, out of the 4 (? maybe 5) games I've played with it so far, I've won 3 (at rank 8 and 7). I completely demolished a Armor Warrior deck with all its Legendaries, barely beat a Warlock Zoo deck (Reynads I believe), and even a UTH Hunter combo/cycle deck. None of these players had noticeably bad pulls either, even the stream agreed. The only revisions that I made were very small, but I still kept the deck completely free. The following revisions were made:
-1 Acidic Swamp Ooze
-2 Dragonling Mechanic
-2 Lord of the Arena
-1 Stormwind Champion
+1 Hammer of Wrath
+2 Chillwind Yeti
+2 Boulderfist Ogre
+1 Guardian of Kings
The only other card that just doesn't seem that great to me right now is Frostwolf Warlord. Don't get me wrong, I understand why he is in the deck; he satisfies the 5-drop slot, he goes well with the whole "swarm the board" idea, and he has great value even with just our Hero Power making him a 5/5 on turn 7. However, I may end up just replacing one of him if not both, with something like another Taunt or additional meta (ie Holy Light, Humility, 2nd Hammer of Wrath, Hand of Protection, or 2nd Guardian of Kings.
I really wish that Blizzard had made Ironbeak Owl a base set card (a "f2p" card in other words), because the only thing that I feel we absolutely lack right now as a Paladin is a Silence. One game that I lost was against a Druid who dropped a late game Ysera. I can deal with a 4/12 on the board over time, but not one that generates extra value every turn. We don't really have a "free" answer to her in any hand or deck (outside of super buffing with something like double Blessing of Kings which is completely unrealistic). Other than not having a Silence, we tend to be able to deal with everything else very cost efficiently.
Overall, great job man, this deck is solid.
Well Met!

I built a deck just like this, but IMHO this style is best used with Warlock, because of all the good 1 drops he has and his hero power provides quite good card draw.
This deck is atrocious. Don't expect an enjoyable time at all without "expert" cards.
I haven't won any games with this deck at all. I know you're options are severely limited with just basic cards but the deck is far too vulnerable to mob clears and has virtually no draw power, therefore it loses against most play styles. It's stacked way too heavily at 4 mana and therefore has both a weak early game and a weak late game. There are MUCH better basic card decks out there. The deck is built solely to utilize his hero ability and fails to use any of the Paladin's key strategies and cards. At least that's my opinion on it.
Owesome deck for Paladin! And like said Ronmabot Imp Master is great card to add in this deck!
A very good deck. If you want to play F2P, this is your deck. But it will lose 10/10 times against any decent player past rank 15.
