Mulligan Guide for PowersFire Control Warrior

Shaman/Rogue/Warrior:

These match ups are usually quite aggressive due to the pirates they have. In order to win this match up, you need to keep any one damage clears and have the ability to draw into your armor cards. If you win, you first have to clear the board early and have enough armor to withstand the late game burst. To counter this, mulligan for the following:

  • Armorsmith (For one damage early game and armor)
  • Ooze (Weapon removal)
  • Ravaging Ghoul (Whirlwind effect)
  • Acolyte of Pain (Draw for the armor cards)
  • Bash (Early game removal)
  • Cruel Taskmaster (Only if you have Armorsmith or Acolyte)
  • Revenge (Early game aoe)
  • Execute (Only against shaman for 4 mana 7/7)
  • War axe (Obviously)

Druid:

You need to get a good early game to pressure them enough and then burst them. If you want to do this, you must draw your ones and two drops so you can chip them down and use brawls to clean up the board until you draw your burst. Mulligan for the following:

  • Armorsmith (Early game pressure)
  • Cruel Taskmaster (Makes armorsmith a threat early game)
  • War Axe (Clean up their early game minions)
  • Acolyte (Draw for your win conditions)
  • Ghoul (Kills small Jades)
  • Brawl (Use when your opponent fills up the board with Jades)

Priest:

This matchup is tough since it is hard to rush them down when they run so many early game cards. You need to draw a lot if you want a chance to win. Ysera is a key card in this matchup since many players have dropped entomb from their list and it is difficult to remove without it. Also, you must control theirt early game so you can get in chip damage and burst them.  Mulligan for the following:

  • Armorsmith (Early game minion)
  • Cruel Taskmaster (Allows armorsmith to trade)
  • War Axe (Use for early game and to bait ooze)
  • Acolyte (Card draw for burst)
  • Ghoul (Help deal with high health minions)
  • Brawl (Clear their board when they overextend)
  • Slam (Lower the heath of their early game)
  • Bash (Removes early game along with other cards)
  • Gorehowl (For the large taunts and so you can play it before they draw ooze)

Hunter/Paladin:

LUL. You won’t face these at high ranks. Just mulligan for early game and armor cards against murloc paladin. Hunter has no viable deck at the moment and your one damage aoe clears will deal with their stuff while the amount of armor you gain will not allow anyfin to burst you.

Warlock:

You need to burst them with Gromm to win the game so you need to draw a lot. However, you need removal for their big early game threats. To do this, Execute is key to kill twilight drake and mountain giants. Do not try to rush them too fats or they will heal and taunt too much. You have to surprise them with the burst before they expect it. Mulligan for:

  • Armorsmith (Early game damage)
  • Cruel Taskmaster (Makes armorsmith a decent damage dealer)
  • Acolyte (To keep up with their draw)
  • Ghoul (To activate execute and deal with smaller minions)
  • Execute (For mountain giants and twilight drake)
  • Slam (To activate execute)
  • Shield Block/Shield Slam (For mountain giants and drakes)

Mage:

This deck is easy to beat since you can fatigue them out. Do not draw too much and get ready for a long game. As long as you deal with their early and mid game you should get to a point where you can set them to one and the fatigue will finish them. GHromm has a big impact on this matchup since it will be used to kill them early. Mulligan for:

  • Armorsmith (Early gamer)
  • Bash (To kill their early game minions)
  • Ghoul (Early game clear)
  • Execute (For their bigger threats that can be played on turns 4-6)
  • War Axe (Early game removal)
  • Cruel Task (For armor smith but keep one fore Gromm finisher)
  • Alley Armorsmith (So they can’t rush you down)

Hope this helps anyone who wants to play this deck!
