About me and my decks

About this deck:

If you like it dirty and in the dark - this is the deck for you!

When you thought playing against a Priest was frustrating then watch your opponents reaction when you play this deck. It's easy to pilot and has a lot of burst damage.

Shadow Rager:
This card was the reason to build this deck. The question was "could a strealth themed Rogue be good in this meta". As it turned out the answer is surprisingly YES!
Of course you want to but your Shadow Rager with the Shadow Sensei, but even if not he deals at least 5 damage to the face which is 20% of the winning the game just with 3 mana. When he hits buffed from Shadow Sensei it's even almost a third of the health your opponent has. That's a lot of damage in the early game :)

Street Trickster:
The main reason you run Azure Drake in rogue is the spell damage and Azure Drake also cycles itself. The card is so powerful and good, why change the card draw and the 4/4 body with a 0/7 body which is a Demon, that does not help rogue in any case? The answer is pretty simple: tempo. The difference between 3 mana and 5 mana is huge. Street Trickster is a very sticky minion, while your opponent is used to remove your turn 5-Azure Drake easyly. But investing 7 damage or even a hard removal on this tiny shiny 3 drop is a lot of wasted ressources - and that's gonna pan out good in your favorite. Usually the turn 3 play for Rogues is a The Coin-comboed-SI:7 Agent or a cycle-Fan of Knives. In this deck it's spell damage development and a potential 7 health heal. You also have 4 other possible 3-drops with 2x Shadow Rager, Shaku, the Collector and 1x Beneath the Grounds. Oh, and he does not get damaged by Demonwrath, a card which is included in almost every Highlander Warlock - not that big deal, but nice to know.
Against those pirate aggro decks you can play Street Trickster on 3 and Defender of Argus on 4 to get a 1/8 taunt which clears the most 1 health minions and it also might soak a huge tempo burst (Heroic Strike, Arcanite Reaper, Fireball etc).

Shaku, the Collector:
This guy replaced Edwin VanCleef, since you do not run any Preparation or a lot of spells you won't get a big Edwin VanCleef with this deck. Shaku, the Collector instead gives you at least 1 ressource card (even if he attacks a taunt minion) and sometimes this card was game changing, sometimes it was useless but most of the times I got a second attack because some opponents still underestimate that card (what can a tiny 2/3 do?). He is one of the targets that can be buffed by Shadow Sensei to get it more sticky and maybe create even more ressource cards.

The Pirate Package:

Small-Time Buccaneer, Swashburglar and Patches the Pirate:

Well known early pressure. Rogues can play it, so why not use it in an already very agressive deck. Not much to talk about it, with 4 Pirates in the deck it's very easy to get one in the starting hand to activate the most loved charge minion since Mean Streets of Gadgetzan.

Beneath the Grounds:

The card Beneath the Grounds is the main card to counter Highlander decks, playing only one of these cards early can deny a lot of cards their battlecries such as Manic Soulcaster, Inkmaster Solia, Raza the Chained, Krul the Unshackled, Kazakus (!). This card very good against Highlander Warlocks since they want to Life Tap a lot. You should keep track of the number of cards your Warlock opponent mulliganed to find out if he is a Zoovariant or really a Highlander deck. In most cases a turn 1 Argent Squire or Possessed Villager will give you the answer. Otherwise you can also choose to play more patient, it depends on what opponents you faced before and which are the decks the current meta played. Also against aggro decks it can be very important to gamble on that early Nerubian as soon as possible.

Coldlight Oracle + Leatherclad Hogleader Combo

This combo is not obvious, but you want your opponent to have card to have 2 other 6 damage chargers besides Leeroy Jenkins. In most cases it works, sometimes you can even mill some cards against control decks and they have a really AWESOME animation :)
So besides getting you some cards the "downside" of Coldlight Oracle is used in more ways to your favor.

How to play this deck:

You mulligan for your Pirate package, followed up by your 3-drops and on turn 4 you play your buff cards Shadow Sensei or Defender of Argus. Turn 5 is for Lotus Assassin or to Conceal your board to buff it on 6. If you can and the condition is met, ride the Hog for extra 6 to the face.
Use you removal spells to get rid of taunts or very scary minions. Only use an Eviscerate on a minion if there is no other play, you also want this spell to go face.

With Cold Blood and Leeroy Jenkins you have your final damage burst on turn 7+.

All in all - go face, face, face. Easy deck, easy wins :p
