Strategy
- You want to start off the game on the right foot ideally with Mistress of Mixtures or Jade Claws.
- Start ramping up your Jade Golems right away and build up some board presence.
- Try to use Evolve, Devolve, and Master of Evolution efficiently. Wait for a decent board that will get a lot of value for either one. Remember to trade or otherwise use your minion(s) before you evolve them, and aim to use the effects on mid to high cost minions. Sometimes it may be acceptable to use it on just one or two minions, though. It depends on the situation. Devolve can get you out of many sticky situations, and make them slippery instead.
- Be aware of the mana costs of minions that exist in the game. Remember you can not Devolve Arcane Giant or Mountain Giant for example, because there are no 11 mana minions in the game.
- Decide how you want to use Brann Bronzebeard there are several purposes for this card. You can combo it with Jade Claws, Jade Spirit, Jade Chieftain, [/card]master of evolution[/card] and Aya Blackpaw for example, or any sort of card draw also. You could potentially draw cards as well.
Check out the card breakdown for more tips on how/when to use individual cards
Card Breakdown
Card | Words |
Evolve | One of the key cards of this deck that forms part of your strategy. Try to use it efficiently on mid to high-cost minions for best value. It may be fine to use it on fewer minions at times, use your judgement. |
Devolve | This is a unique form of removal and a very powerful tool to screw with your opponents. This can completely scramble their board an reduce it's value at the same time. |
Jade Claws | This is a really cool weapon and i like it more than i thought i would. It's nice to have the damage available and it's a great card to initialize your jade golem progress. |
Bloodmage Thalnos | This is a very solid and valuable classic legendary. The draw will help cycle and the spell damage will help with clearing the board or lethal. Just make sure you do not evolve it! If you don't have this you should strongly consider crafting it. |
Lightning Storm | This is your only aoe that does damage, so use it carefully. Don't forget about spell power. |
Far Sight | The main purpose of this card is to cycle, but the discount it provides can be unexpectedly amazing by enabling some exciting and powerful evolutionary shenanigans. |
Hex | A very powerful removal tool that you will want to save for really threatening targets or hard to clear minions. |
Jade Lightning | This is a really nice damage spell. I like the 4 damage and i love the jade golem. Very nice tool. |
Master of Evolution | This is a card you never want to have in your mulligan, but otherwise it is a very strong card. You will want to have a decent target and try to get full value out of that target before you re purpose it. |
Jade Chieftain | This is a very powerful card with awesome synergy. Aside from the obvious battlecry synergy, this 7 mana body is a fantastic target for evolution. |
Jinyu Waterspeaker | This is a fancy new healing card for shaman and it is actually pretty decent. Previous I had been using Mistress of Mixtures, but the 1 mana minions feel bad in this deck and the battlecry can combo with brann bronzebeard. |
Brann Bronzebeard | One battlecry is good, why not two?! |
Maelstrom Portal | This is a good, flexible spending which should aid you with full boards. Try to get spell damage first. |
Jade Spirit | This contributes to the jade golem effort and is a reasonable combo with Brann Bronzebeard |
Azure Drake | This is a pretty straightforward inclusion. |
Doppelgangster | The main purpose for this card is to combo it with evolve and get 3 6-cost minions. Pretty exciting combo! |
Aya Blackpaw | Definitely an auto-include, in my opinion, for any jade golem deck. I really enjoy this card and it can spawn some great tokens to fight for the board and evolve as well. |

From that list there i would probably swap out feral spirits.
Any update for this deck ? and can i reach legend ? Sorry for my bad english <3 Hope your response asap
Nope, i do not plan to make any changes to it right now. You can get to legend with many decks if you play well enough, but i can not say i have played this deck to reach legend. I am actually playing my priest deck Chained Soulpriest because it is just too much fun. I don't think i am going to even try to rank up this season and just have fun, but we will see what i open from my next packs :)
i've played a few games with evolution decks, this one included, overall (35-40 games) the deck seems to win vs midrange and reno decks 70% of the time but gets rekt almost instantly by aggro decks with a 25% winrate. They are fun and unpredictable deck but if you're trying to go up ranks and play at a more competitive level these decks are just not viable in the current meta. Went up a total of 3 ranks in all of those games but i am stalling at rank 4.
Cut both Coldlight oracles because they dont have a huge profit for me.
Add 2. Gangster and Portal
haha glad to see this change :D
Evolving in this patch is very OP. Have yet to try both jade warriors and evolution, but evolution has been quite successful with my own variation:
This deck Looks amazing. Need to give it a try.
It's quite good against the current meta (pirate warrior and jade druid). But you do lose if you have bad luck with draw and unable to draw AoE clear spells or evolve, or get fucked by bad evolve RNG.
That's probably correct about any deck ;)
This would make sense if this deck ran much in the way of clears. But Devolve/Storm doesn't clear any real board, it only clears pirate warrior or Goon Paladin.
It makes sense once you realize that by clearing I am not referring to only aoe spells
Devolve can really compliment your aoe though. I think it's cool to remove one but it's not a bad card. I definitely wouldn't add a second doppelgangster if you say you are having trouble keeping the board. You may need to re think your Mulligan a little bit perhaps?
Could be that the meta is just not suitable for this deck at that rank then. It is a jade deck after all, so really fast decks can be very difficult. Sometimes the best answer at some points in the ladder is to choose another deck =/ Sorry you are having troubles
Have you considered second hand bruiser ?
I sure have. I do like the cost reduction of it, but i don't think i am running into too many decks that would allow me to take advantage of that enough right now. It is definitely a decent tech option.
2xHex and 2xDevolve seems excessive to me personally; That's a lot of crowd control packed into this deck. Do you find that they wind up being dead cards often? I'm personally running a single one of each in my jade shaman list but am curious if it's worth including the extra copy of each card.
I think it's pretty nice, but i am thinking about whether or not to remove one of the cards often. It's very good though against goon decks because they completely negate their buffs and/or deathrattles. Jade lotus decks also tend to get fairly big minions that you can make more manageable.
It is very nice as well to be able to use these cards more freely without having to worry so much about what targets to save them for. I think it is more often when you have only two of these sort of cards that it's more likely to be dead in your hand while you wait for the right use, while with two of each you can take care of those one or two tricky obstacles here and there and still have something for later.
Plus, i like being able to use my hex(s) occasionally in a way that makes the opponent think it is now safe(er) to drop their larger or more valuable minions. That's when you pull out a Devolve and unexpectedly randomize their board =D.
Hopefully that made a bit of sense and explained what i am thinking. I appreciate your input, i do like considering these things! I am definitely still going to continue gauging their usefulness.
I think that is a cool combo but it is a bit risky to rely on having the card(s) to evolve it and also enough mana. Unless you got a good Far Sight draw.
I dont have the rat... any ideas ? I know there is no direct replacement
