Hello everyone ! I'm Spark, Legend player from France.
I wanted to share my Handbuff Beast Hunter with the new expansion being released !
The card that I'm the most excited about is Rat Pack. It is very decent on its own and pretty consistent without relying too much on the hand-buff mechanic, as its deathrattle effect also benefits from Houndmaster.
I'm pretty sure Trogg Beastrager and Rat Pack will stick in the deck as they are pretty solid on their own for the archetype.
I'll try to make Shaky Zipgunner and Dispatch Kodo work along with them, but I'm not sure yet if they will stick or not. Only playtesting will tell if they are consistent enough.
Dire Wolf Alpha synerizes well with Alleycat, Kindly Grandmother, Unleash the Hounds and Rat Pack while also empowering the battlecry effect from Dispatch Kodo.
I will tweak the early game depending on the needs. Considering cards like Fiery Bat, King's Elekk and Scavenging Hyena.
Traps and Eaglehorn Bow will also be considered if the initial list doesn't perform too well.
Finally, N'Zoth, the Corruptor could be added to the deck if a slow metagame requires it, but I believe aggressive decks will always remain consistent in the metagame.
Updates & Results

Swapped out 2 Animal Companion for 2 Scavenging Hyena as they synergies too well with the tokens and Tundra Rhino. As Animal Companion is not a beast (it just summons one), it can screw up with your buff mechanics.
The deck does very well for the moment ! The only issue I'm having is Warrior Pirate swarming the high ranks right now. But this will slow down a bit after the meta stabilizes, even though the deck will still see play I think it's ok to have this unfavorable matchup while beating many other decks.

As many of you suggested, Ragnaros the Firelord had a weird spot in this deck. It's a very good win condition for Midrange Hunter in general, but I ended up swapping it for Call of the Wild as the deck has generally a lot of Beasts on the board, it can benefit from Tundra Rhino and it doesn't mess up with the buff synergies. Ragnaros the Firelord remains a solid option for his burst and control potential, otherwise King Krush is also a decent option here, and Leeroy Jenkins can do the job as well if you really want to be more aggressive. It's up to you, depending on how you feel about it, but I'm personally favoring Call of the Wild for its synergies with the deck ;)
I also swapped Deadly Shot for Hunter's Mark as the deck generates a lot of tokens to prefer it and the meta doesn't really fit Deadly Shot anyway.
The deck is still giving me solid results !
Warrior Pirate has dropped slightly in popularity, so it's fine having this bad matchup from time to time.
Dragon Priest is still a decent matchup in my opinion, both decks are based on curve.
Jade decks are generally fine as they are somewhat slow so you can kill them before they set up too solid golems.
Renolock are more popular right now, they can be issue if they manage to controi the board enough and sustain so you lack the steam to finish them. But it can also be pretty easy if you manage to overwhelm them. In short, it's kind of hit or miss, kill them before Reno Jackson or have a bad time.

I think the list is refined now, the current meta allows the deck to perform pretty well. The strength of the deck is that It can win almost anything with a solid curve. Sometimes you just have to accept the loss ;)

I swapped out Call of the Wild for Leeroy Jenkins as I feel like the deck need to kill a bit faster than usual. Call of the Wild feels a bit too slow to be used against Aggro, and it won't always help coming back against slower decks.
This is still a fine card to run anyway and I faced a few situations where one card would be better than the other so you can argue that both are viable options.

I pushed to Rank 3 with the deck and hit Legend today, finishing with Jade Druid and Jade Aggro Shaman because there was a bit too much Shaman to deal with for this deck. Here are the results I gathered this season :

I updated the deck the full combo package with Cult Master, Unleash the Hounds and Timber Wolf.
The result feels a bit more cheesy as you're relying on various combos to win the game, but it does better in the current meta because the previous version was often outpaced by aggressive decks like Shaman. It is also even funnier to play as you have access to more combos to surprise your opponent by either refilling your hand with Cult Master, powering up a huge Scavenging Hyena or bursting down your opponent with a board full of beast and Timber Wolf !
12/01/2017
Cult Master a bit too situational, I swapped one out to include back a Dire Wolf Alpha.
22/01/2017
Tweaked the list a little bit to give more early and mid-game power, giving up on the draw potential from Cult Master.
Gameplay Videos
These videos come from my stream so it's in French, sorry about that. It's just much harder for me to focus on speaking English while playing, compared to simply writting in English.
F.A.Q.
What about the mulligan ?
Pretty straight forward, all about getting the early game. I always keep Alleycat, Kindly Grandmother and Rat Pack. I generally keep Dire Wolf Alpha if I don't have a 2 drop and keeping a Quick Shot isn't a bad idea against Aggro.
Why not more buffing cards like Smuggler's Crate and Hidden Cache ?
The point of the deck is actually to use some handbuffing synergies while not relying too much on them. This set up would just reduce draw consistency and the fact that they are spells are not helping your other buffing cards. Remember that you also want to benefit from standard Beast synergies, so it's better to run Beasts.
In short, Rat Pack and Dispatch Kodo are well supported enough by the solid Trogg Beastrager and Shaky Zipgunner, there's no need to disrupt the deck consistency for a simple chance of getting a better buff.
How can I include Knuckles into the deck ?
I know everyone is hyped about its effect, but honestly the card doesn't really deserve a spot in the deck. It's a bit too reliant on the buffing mechanics and comes in with less potential swing that Tundra Rhino, which is very important for the combo potential. Anyway, you could still swap Call of the Wild if you really want to run the card but it's far from necessary imo.
Why not use Don Han'Cho ?
The card is incredibly bad for this deck, it is just too late of a play. By the time you get to play it, you're not even sure to have a minion in your hand and you'd rather want to pressure for late. Moreover, getting his buff on a minion means commiting fully on this minion to close the game. The card just doesn't fit this deck.
How can I replace Rat Pack ?
Unfortunately, you can't ... The card is just too good at what it does in this deck, it's pretty much the center of it. Animal Companion or Infested Wolf could do the job but it's way less optimal.
How can I replace Quick Shot / Kindly Grandmother ?
I'm realizing some players lack these adventure cards. Unfortunately, they are just the best picks here. You can get decent results with a mix of Animal Companion / Eaglehorn Bow / King's Elekk / Fiery Bat but it will obviously remain sub-optimal.
Closing
That's it for now guys, I hope you'll enjoy the deck as much as I do ! I'll be gather more data throughout the season and keep updating the deck here, so stay tunned for that !
Don't forget to show your support by upvoting the Deck if you liked and don't hesitate to discuss about it or ask any question in the comment section below ;)

Hi Spark ! Still playing a Wild version of your deck and I'm hesitating about the 5-mana spot.
I'm not facing so much aggro here in Wild, so I run a more Midrange list, without some of the 1-drop. But I'm a bit confused about what cards to play on 5 mana alongside Tundra Rhino. I have been running Ram Wrangler a lot for tons of fun but no reliability. I tried Knuckles, which is fine but nothing game-changing. I'm now hesitating between Stampeding Kodo and Stranglethorn Tiger, both having synergies with the deck.
What would you recommend ?
If you are playing in Wild I would recommend Dr. Boom or Loatheb here. These are really solid cards that support the midrange playstyle well ;)
i have a really intresting question :
can Forlorn Stalker be inculded in this deck ? cause there's too many deathrattles and maybe with
Infested Wolf
While it has obvious synergies with the deck, it is just not good enough and not consistent enough. The body is bad, and the targets are too rare. Grandmother would probably be played already (on turn 2), Savannah doesn't need the buff at all, Rat Pack is the only good target. Paying a 4/2 for 3 hoping for this scenario is really underwhelming
May be a bit much to ask, but can you suggest a deck list for Wild format? It just feels so much better to be able to play mad scientist and having Bow with secret synergy.
Here is my Hunter deck for Wild: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/723515-spark-beast-master-wild-s34
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but literally anything can beat this deck. I faced control mage, buff pala even almost the same freakin' hunter deck like that... it can't win a thing
I have hard time to keep my [card]Tundra Rhino[/card] alive more than one turn... I searched a bit for another card that I could use on it but I have no idea...
Should I add a taunt or a better card in this deck to use with the Tundra Rhino.
The goal would be to keep the Tundra Rhino alive for the next turn, because it's an expensive card and you cannot use a lot of other cards with it.
Any idea ?
It's just the best card for this spot honestly, sometimes it's fine playing it on turn 5 and having your opponent removing it, giving you the momentum for the following turn. Then it can help making incredible combos on turn 7 for example. I would never swap it out in this build
Hi Sparkaz,
Thanks for your reply ! (You reply to every comments actually, that's amazing !! You're amazing ! ;) )
But I was more thinking about another card to play with the Tundra Rhino, not to swap with it. This other card (max 1-2 mana cost) would help to keep our Rhino alive until next turn. I could not find a card that can do that.
If anyone has an idea, it would be great. I was even thinking about a Doomsayer to clean the board before playing the Rhino...
PS: I really enjoy playing this deck ! You have to think a lot on each turn and win most of the time. So again, thank you for this deck :)
Hey Fireghost,
I get what you mean but wouldn't that destroy the Rhino value?
Normally Rhino can do 2 great things for you:
-You play it on turn 5 and then throw a charge Savannah Highmane for great damage (on turn 5 you can't accompany the rhino with another card)
-You play it on a later turn and throw in more beasts to give them charge and deal surprise damage (No need for rhino protection)
So trust me, you don't have to protect your Rhino.
Thanks for the recognition, I enjoy sharing knowledge with people so always put the effort to answer :)
As suggested by Stanly that's honestly just how Rhino works. I mean you can't protect every good cards in your deck :P These 2 ways of using it are very good and in the first scenario your opponent is thinking about dealing with it, baiting a removal to open the path for Savannah. You just don't need to protect this card at all cost, play it as needed and see what's next ^^
thanks for the deck, but i still think hunter is the worst class right now :/
Yes it is =/
Honestly, no idea how did you hit the legend with this deck. It lacks draw, lacks aoe, lacks strong units, lacks removals. You are dependent on rat pack + buff synergy, but without draw you have that synergy in like 1 game per 6-7, and rats are so easy to clean with any aoe - swipe, maelstrom, etc. So far I'm at rank 15 and losing 3\4 of games with such scenario - the game starts, I keep the board control and hit opponent in the face, but lack power to finish him until turn 6-8 - and then he puts 6\8, 8\8 5\10 taunt - and ... and I lose, because I don't have removals.
That feels about accurate. I got the same problems within this meta. I am actually not sure whether there is a more viable hunter deck since I have always enjoyed Sparkaz' decks. Another problem is the fact that I have been maining hunter for ages so I don't have nearly enough cards to play competitively with another class... Is there any deck that's cheap and very competitive?
Simple, I didn't hit Legend with this deck and never stated that. Hunter is a bad class right now that's just it, but I have decent success with this one at least ^^
What are your thoughts on running the "secret package" in this deck, i.e. 2x Eaglehorn Bow, 2x Freezing Trap, and 1x Explosive trap or another secret, or some combination of that? The bow could be especially helpful for board clearing and getting that extra reach damage for lethal, freezing allows you to deal with big threats more easily, and explosive is great against aggro.
Also, I feel savannah high manes are a bit slow in this meta. If you don't want to add the secret package and stick to the beast/buff theme, I'd replace the high manes with shaky zip gunner, as the card is decent on curve and it gives you the largest buff of any of the other cards.
But anyway, thanks for making such a cool deck!
I originally thought about it but it's "polluting" the beast package too much. Moreover, Bow doesn't help against aggro as it's too slow and you take too much damage. Teching an explosive is still decent to help a bit against aggro though.
About Savannah, it's indeed too slow for aggro decks but if you don't run it, you are just auto-loss against Control, which you can't ignore
Barnes as a decent spot in this deck but there is not even 50% good target so you have better tech cards to run here
