Here's the update for the new Tavern Brawl! http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/959591-mill-otk-combo-warrior-super-fun
Hi everyone, I'm pretty sure I created the god deck for this week's Tavern Brawl. As in, I literally cannot see how you could lose against any deck. This deck is complete built around Brann+Violet Illusionist+Coldlight+Coldlight+Brew+Coldlight+Brew+Coldlight+Brew+Coldlight combo to mill your opponent of 20 cards (21 if you count his draw next turn as well). The only way to lose with this deck is to play against this deck. It has 8 AoE clears for 1/1's, 4 weapons, and the potential to even multiply those clears as you can brew back your raging worgens and create more clears using Chromaggus+draw+draw+brew+draw etc. I can make a more in-depth guide but this deck plays itself. I'll explain some of my tech choices though:
N'Zoth's first mate: gives 3 weapons charges in addition to its own body meaning you can clear 4 minions with one card. Must include.
Execute: I only included 1 but you could run 0-2. I honestly have never used it in my limited testing but if you need to clear a big threat your opponent somehow created, this card as a one-of will do the trick.
Justicar: If you draw this in the first few turns you will climb to 60 armor in no-time. Might even survive a mirror this way.
Chromaggus: Helps you draw more cards more good. Never play by itself, always combo this. You could honestly create an almost infinite amount of cycle with this card as you can play it, then play a novice which draws you 2 brewmasters, then you can brew your novice twice and play 2 more novices, which draws you 2x of 2 other cards you may be able to combo as well.
A few tips:
-mulligan your combo pieces (don't need them until later)
-don't be afraid of using one of your brewmasters on a raging worgen if you don't have that many board clears in your hand, you can max play 3 with your combo anyway so 1 is just insurance/for card-draw combos/worgen combos
-try to be efficient in your removals if you have less than 2 AoE clears in your hand or an ability to create more.
Lastly, why no Emperor? You can't even use it really. Everything is already 1 mana and Brann+Violet+Coldlight+Coldlight+Brew+Coldlight+Brew+Coldlight+Brew+Coldlight perfectly fits on the board with 7 minions in the end and costs 10 mana exactly. It's like Blizzard designed the entire game just so this combo could be played with maximum efficiency.
Have fun!!!
This deck needs brawl, you have no chance of surviving against evolve shamans.
I had a brawl earlier but it often felt clunky and unnecessary. I've never needed it but I'll test it when I start facing decks that would require it.
Yeah, the trick I learned for playing against Priest is to stop clearing his board. He can't slap down more than a Velen if you keep his board loaded. Also trying to burn his combo pieces (Velen, Volazj, and 2 faceless manipulators) can also help since he's helping you draw his own deck.
I burned my opponent's Flame Leviathan, it triggered and stopped my combo.
Some turns later i lost to fatigue.
Lost second game vs Malygos Warlock
Lost third game vs a random Shaman
This deck is garbage, you just were lucky.
Lost 4th game vs evolve Shaman by turn 4 with first turn Justicar
Lost 5th game vs C'Thun Warrior
Flame Leviathan is an interesting tech against this deck I agree. I can't imagine many decks running it but you could wait until it's drawn until you unleash the combo. I predict a very small % of mage decks run it and even for those decks by the time you pull the combo (when they have 0-13 cards left) they most likely would have drawn it already. As far as playing this deck goes, you really have to use efficient removals and play flexibly with your combo pieces to make sure you have enough removal in hand always (playing a coldlight and brewing it back for card draw, big chromaggus turns). I would try to play it a few more times before you give up on it, but it's your choice.
Another tip is if you are playing against a combo deck who also draws a lot of cards and you don't have the full combo yet, calculate how many cards you need for lethal and if you can draw out the rest of your deck and get lethal/stay alive even if you don't have your brann or violet.
Evolve Shaman was Turn 1: Coin into 2x Force-Tank MAX
Turn 2: 1 high mana Minion and Evolve
Turn 3: I can't do anything to the big minions
Turn 4: GG
Sure, I was very unlucky on this one.
I'm not a pro player, but for sure I am not bad at hearthstone. With this deck you need the right cards in the right time against strong combo decks. Malygos requires some mana, but on turn 7 I can't have that much armor without Justicar. 2x Darkbomb 2x Soulfire is enough. With his hero power and some further card draw it's not that unlikely. Plus he played some other threats before I had to handle with.
If the opponent is just a little bit lucky you lose. 100% WR requires luck and I can have 20 wins in 20 games with other decks too if I am lucky enough.
In the Flame Leviathan match I could have played around it but I didn't see that card coming. It was my first game on that Tavern Brawl.
Yeah combo decks are going to give you the most trouble if you don't get Justicar out early. For those, since they help you draw their own deck in some ways, try to efficiently overdraw them to burn combo pieces whenever you can. For example, if they have 9 cards, feel free to burn a coldlight brewmaster combo to burn 2 of his cards. As for evolve shaman, that's just a super high variance deck so hard to predict anything. Priest can def burst you down quick and easy but I would suggest NOT clearing his board so he can't slap down a board full of Velens.
I wouldn't really play around flame leviathan. Doubt you'll see many.
Thanks for the feedback man, I'm going to try double execute but I think dropping a gnomish/novice would be best if you drop anything from the deck as brew masters can help you combo chromaggus draws/bounce back raging worgens or coldlights in a pinch and azure drake helps power up clears.
