Hi my name is Weastar, I play Hearthstone on the America server. I play both Standard and Wild Modes. Originally, I wanted to try out really fun decks for Wild Mode, since there are no card restrictions and I could fully utilise the control cards from all of Hearthstone. I recommend this deck because as with all control decks, the point of the game is to counteract against opponent's moves and win the late game.

In short, you want to stop your opponent from getting ahead in the game. Card removals like Doomsayer, Shadow Word: Pain, Shadow Word: Death, Shadow Madness, Entomb and Lightbomb work really well against both midrange and late game decks. The only weakness for this deck is Aggro. As this deck aims to win late game, many of its "star" cards are middle to high cost thus losing early game.

Shadow Madness has to be carefully used, since Resurrect and Onyx Bishop can be played to revive the "mind-controlled" minion. Using Entomb wisely ensures a steady late game. Since this is a deck that includes Reno Jackson, there are only 1 copy of each card, thus careful planning and resource managing is strongly recommended. Convert and Faceless Manipulator are both useful to counter powerful opponent minions, as you also gained value from them playing the minion. Faceless Manipulator is especially useful as you can copy either Emperor Thaurissan or Ysera.

Emperor Thaurissan reduces the cost of cards in your hand by 1 each turn, this allows for more cards to be played in a single turn and at earlier turns, granting access to costly removal cards.

Ysera gives 5 Dream cards, of which Dream (0-cost Sap), Nightmare (0-cost Power Overwhelming) and Ysera Awakens are no doubt the better options. Dream can be used to return one of your minions back to your hand, if you think your opponent has any removal for it. It can also be used to return one of your own minions with Battlecry, to re-use its abilities. Nightmare serves as both a removal and finisher. It can buff a minion by +5/+5, and the minion dies at the start of your next turn. Ysera Awakens is a mass removal/finisher. Do take note that your hero also receives 5 damage as a result.

Apart from removal, this deck also includes the Discover mechanic, via Jeweled Scarab and Museum Curator. Jeweled Scarab generates a 3-drop that should even out the mana curve or grant access to a removal. Museum Curator generates a Deathrattle minion that potentially cause devastating effects when destroyed. Some notable examples include Sneed's Old Shredder and Sylvanas Windrunner who have game-changing effects when destroyed. Prince Malchezaar plays a great role in adding 5 random Legendary cards to the deck. Given how randomness is a huge part in determining the cards added, these cards may be game-changing as well. From the videos linked below, I have played Millhouse Manastorm with no ill consequences.

Additionally, since Control is the main theme of this deck, Mind Vision, Thoughtsteal, Mindgames, Shifting Shade, Cabal Shadow Priest, Sylvanas Windrunner, Nefarian and Mind Control are all great cards to gain advantage. The better the quality of your opponent's deck, the greater the value gained from playing these Control cards. Value is gained because by playing a card, you gain 2 of opponent's potentially better cards. In addition to that, you also gain information about the opponent's deck, knowing what your opponent may play.

Sustain is relatively important as you need to stay alive in order to win late game. Reno Jackson, Alexstrasza, Justicar Trueheart, Holy Nova and Priest of the Feast will save your life. As long as the legendaries granted by Prince Malchezaar's effect are not duplicates, Reno Jackson's activation condition is always achieved. This card heals your hero's health back to 30. This stalls for at least a turn to deal with threats on the board. Alexstrasza can be used offensively or defensively depending on the situation. If you are currently winning in terms of board, you may consider playing her to set your opponent's health to 0. Otherwise, she is always played as a defensive move for stalling/getting out of lethal range.

Knowledge of each class' potential lethal range is very important, so as to play cards at the right moment both to stay alive and to win the game. Justicar Trueheart will empower your Basic Hero Power, Lesser Heal (Restore 2 Health) to Heal (Restore 4 Health). The opportunity to heal yourself or a minion by 4 Health is a great advantage as it can easily protect minions from removal via damage and/or save your life.

Holy Nova is one of the most regarded Priest removals, as it is also a Heal for you and your board. Healing your board for 2 may sometimes be the difference between winning or losing. It is also a great counter to Aggro decks where their board is cheap and weak. Priest of the Feast is also a great Sustain card as casting removal spells also equate to a 3 Health healing for your hero.

Although Loatheb is not regarded as a Sustain card, it is a wonderful 5-drop as it discourages your opponent from casting spells the following turn. It is also a must-have if there are many spell-based decks around the Ranked Ladder. It shuts down most spell decks' ability to deal insane damage in 1 turn. Being a 5/5 minion, it is also a threat to your opponent's board, causing him/her to play removals on it, saving your Ysera from more ways of harm.

During your turn, there are some things that you have to consider:

1) Is there a need to play The Coin (if you start second) ?

2) Are there alternatives? (Eg. playing a minion instead of a removal)

3) Are there cards that I need to look out for next turn?

4) Am I in lethal range?

5) Is it worth it to play this card now, do I want to keep it for later?

Although it is commonly frowned upon, you can choose to use a Deck Tracker to keep track of cards in each player's deck, i.e cards that have been played/drawn. Hope you like this deck review and enjoy your time on the Ladder!
