Personal Note: The new season has started. Last season I decided to play tier 5 decks that would complete daily quests as soon as possible and did not bother to rank up much. We all knew a new expansion was coming and I decided to have fun and mine gold as much as possible, my rank be danged. I can now buy 100 decks with gold, so this month I will try to advance.

Note continued: I am a little worried. Grinding and trying hard is something I have not done since March, but what the hell. With this deck, I think I can get my second golden hero and will grind the hell out of it. I will keep you all informed. Check the updates at the bottom for updates.

All kidding aside, this is an easy deck to play. First off, you want weapons early and handy. The weapons are primarily for killing off early enemy minions. But be careful, because you can lower your health so much you are vulnerable to spells and whatever. But this is a fast deck, so that is to be expected. Second, you want your one drops. Hopefully, one of them is N'Zoth's First Mate. It will give you a weapon and trigger Patches the Pirate. That is two damage, fast!

After that, Upgrade! and Southsea Deckhand are the ideal second turn moves. I have had opponents concede at this point. Serious.

After that, keep playing minions that buff either your other minions or your weapon. hold your weapons and other Upgrade! until you need them. Be careful with them. Acidic Swamp Ooze is out there. Because of cards like Acidic Swamp Ooze you need to conserve your weapons and get every last bit of damage out of them.

Your win conditions are several. If all goes well, your opponent is low on health by the middle game. Leeroy Jenkins is the go to when your opponent is really low. Arcanite Reaper on turn 5 can get your opponent's health low enough to make Leeroy Jenkins literally killer on turn six. Buffing your weapon with Upgrade! or Bloodsail Cultist could do the trick. Kor'kron Elite is a warrior stable minion and can easily finish a game. And I would be remiss in not mentioning Mortal Strike. at turn eight. 8 or 12 damage (from two cards) can get you all of the pirate gold.

Update: Naga Corsair is good, but I miss the extra charge that Captain Greenskin delivers as well. So, lets see what happens.

Update: I am seeing a lot of Secret Mage, so -1 Naga Corsair +1 Eater of Secrets. I dislike giving up the +1 attack to the weapon, but the number of Secret Mages I am seeing is crazy. I am hoping that by teching Eater of Secrets Secret Mages will go away.

Update: Seeing more Taken Shaman and Hunters these days, so -1 Eater of Secrets +1 Bloodsail Corsair

Update: -1 Bittertide Hydra +1 Leeroy Jenkins This Bittertide Hydra hits like a truck early, but might be too slow. I will keep experimenting with it for a little while longer.

Update: New season. I went 7 -8 on day 1, but had a win streak so I ended where I began. Disappointing to say the least. Today, day 2, I went 9 - 1 and went up 4 ranks. From 20 and 1 star to 16 and 2 stars and I am on a second win streak today. That is much more like it.

Update: July 4 and I will watch fireworks soon, but there has been a few here as well. I am on a 14 - 1 run that has taken me from rank 20 to rank 13. This deck is preforming extremely well to say the least.

Update: July 8 and I am now at rank 11. I am on an 18 - 1 winning streak. I have won the last 12 in a row. By far it is my best win streak. I have picked up 14 bonus stars. I will be the first to admit that I am having really good RNG right now. But, by playing the same deck almost exclusively, I feel I am in tune with it. This deck works in this meta.

Update: August 29 and this version is 7 - 1 at rank 13 to 12. It seems really solid. The card that is standing out the most is Hobart Grapplehammer. Now that you have stopped laughing, here is why. The buff it brings to the weapons, more than makes up for its small body. This card has given me that one extra attack that wins games! I am serious, it works better than most people give it credit. Try it!
