This deck has a dragon count of 8, higher than that of most control dragon warriors which typically have 6 dragons, so that dragon synergy cards activate more reliably. However it is missing staple control warrior cards such as Acolyte of Pain, Slam and Revenge, which means it has less draw and less comeback potential but the high quality dragon synergy cards help you to not start losing in the first place.

This deck is relatively fast for a control deck, however that doesn't mean it stands no chance against slow decks since Brann Bronzebeard + Netherspite Historian let you discover up to 4 dragons for late game.

A few card choices explained:

The reason for taking Alexstrasza's Champion over a removal spell is that 2 mana 3/3 with charge is just way too good, the bottom line of the card is 2 mana deal 3 damage, which is completely playable. Feel free to replace her though since Azure Drake synergizes with removal spells.

Blackwing Technician would be a good fit in this deck considering the high dragon count, however there simply isn't enough space. Neither Ravaging Ghoul nor Shield Block can be replaced.

The reason for not having Chillmaw is that this is a very minion heavy deck and the chance of her deathrattle backfiring is high. However Chillmaw does act as a third board clear which can be invaluable. Just keep in mind that it is not quite as good as Hellfire since your opponent will trade their small minions for Chillmaw.

Alexstrasza is an optional card, I included her just to add to the dragon theme, but she's by no means mandatory especially since you can often pick one up from Netherspite Historian anyway. Grommash Hellscream is as always a good replacement but keep in mind this deck has no means of activating enrage so you will have to play him for board control instead of face damage.

Update: Gorehowl replaced by Ragnaros the Firelord.

Due to the lack of armor generation in this deck, I found that Shield Slam is often unplayable against midrange/aggro decks, especially if I have to attack with my hero. While Gorehowl is one of the best anti aggro/midrange cards, this deck is great against midrange and aggro decks even without it: after all it plays almost identically to tempo dragon warriors in the early game.

Against control decks, Ragnaros the Firelord is also usually better than Gorehowl.
