Descent of Dragons Card List & Guide
In the mirror matchup against other totem mid range shamans I notice if the other deck has lightning storm you instantly lose. They can cut a spirit claw or primal fusion or something and win it does better in my experience. Maybe those are better for early agression but the mid range mirror tends to last longer than that and the early board state won't matter as much. Also maybe I'm just crazy, just seems like right now with all the mid range shamans (on ladder) this could use a lightning storm since this was originally a tournament deck.
nice deck, however, same as patron warrior, you are just waiting for a big clear. not my cup of tea.
Really nice deck
any room for harrison in this deck?
I have added him in place of Ragnaros.
I reached rank 5 with it... went from rank 7-5 pretty easy; used the other MR deck to get to 7
totem shaman no love no tuskar totemic??
Good working deck, and in my opinion a more fun to play shaman decklist than the "normal" midrange. So satisfying to OTK your opponent with Bloodlust + Primal Fusion! :)
Some gameplay: VOD RDU's Totem Shaman
Very good deck right now
replacement for thalnos, loot hoarder or geomancer??
Guess you could try geomancer, take loot hoarder if not enough card draw.
Really prioritize crafting Thalnos, tier 1 legendary
Geomancer might be better, but really you shouldn't do either. Thalnos's entire strength is that he can do both in one card - it's just not worth it to put in an inferior alternative. I would put in a Tuskarr or extra bloodlust.
ive played 10 hours of this deck and you need the geomancer to activate clears such as malestrom portal or to power your weapon for removal
@bromeatmeco: For most decks that run Thalnos, your advice would be correct, but for this deck, early spell damage is absolutely essential. Geomancer is much, much worse than Thalnos, since it doesn't cycle on death, but you really can't afford to run a card without spell damage in Thalnos' slot, so Geomancer is the best of a bunch of bad options. Spell damage is what makes Spirit Claws and Maelstrom Portal playable, and those cards are a huge part of your early game with this deck.
Bloodlust is a lategame finisher that only works if you control the board. Cutting Thalnos significantly reduces your ability to control the board. This deck doesn't want to run 2x Bloodlust, and cutting Thalnos makes running a second Bloodlust even less viable. Tuskarr is just bad post-nerf, you can't rely on it giving you spell damage and if it rolls any other totem it probably puts you behind even when played on curve.
For the first time in a couple of hours, I actually won a game. First game, first win. After loosingevery game from rank 11 to rank 14 - zero stars - I won. If felt pretty damn sick!
Im still baffled by how many decks are cutting the Flamewreathed Faceless, but I totally get that he would be the wirst card in the deck. Deck is insane!
The class is insane as a whole, but this is probably strongest and the most fun midrange version. Still haven't used Ragnaros the Firelord yet.Only lost to hunter thus far, any tips against them? Alternately a tech card to put in against them?
I don't get why people play Ragnaros in mid-shaman. Sure he's a good card, but he has no sinergy with the deck except for barnes. You only really want Ragnaros as tech vs. control matchups, and even then he's not necessary. Bloodlust already does a good enough job of downing control players. With a substitution like Harrison for example, you improve the mirror match while also improving the secret hunter match, Control Warrior match, control paladin match, and that just seems much more useful than 8 random damage.
This is his decklist he used in the EU last call, so remember it's teched to play in a tournament rather than to ladder with.
