This season i decided to force myself to play druid, it's my weakest class and with the Yogg nerf i figured i would give it a go.
I'm currently sitting at rank 6 with 27 games played, 20 wins and 7 losses.
Anyway this is the list i came up with and it's running pretty smoothly, if you guys would like any further details just ask in the comments, i'll check in from time to time and will bring updates (mulligans, detailed % vs other classes, etc..) if anyone shows interest.
*MULLIGAN*
vs Druid/Paladin/Priest/Rogue: Innervate - Wild Growth - Raven Idol
vs Warrior: Innervate - Wild Growth - Raven Idol - Wrath
vs Warlock/Hunter/Mage: Innervate - Wrath - Living Roots - Wild Growth - Raven Idol
vs Shaman: Innervate - Wild Growth - Wrath - Feral Rage - Raven Idol
NOTES: vs weapon classes (Paladin/Rogue/Warrior/Hunter/Shaman) consider keeping Harrison Jones if you're going second and if you have an Innervate.
*updated data* currently sitting at about 61%WR with 71 games played: Winrate 7/10
Well vs aggro decks there's nothing else to it but fight for board and take advantage of big swing turns using your mana advantage with fandral/teacher/arcane giants. The lack of efficient removal in druid always was a problem for the class so if the board is lost in a big way it can be hard to comeback to the game but always keep looking for swing turns even if you're behind, ancient of war can always seal most of those games if unanswered and followed up with moon glade portal is huge. Also if you're facing a lot of those maybe try cutting Mulch and add another Feral Rage, should help you surviving longer and help doing more efficient trades. Hope i helped! :)
Any replacements for Mulch? It will be out with the nexy expansion and costs 400 dust so I probobly won't craft it.
+1 Feral Rage.
Naturalize mb?
Mulch is a great card though and it won't rotate for at least a couple of months.
Thank you so much for sharing this decklist! I crafted Fandral Staghelm and a Mulch to be able to play it and I'm having a blast. So far, I am at roughly 70% winrate over the course of 20 games.
I replaced Harrison Jones with an Acidic Swamp Ooze, because I don't have him. At the moment, weapon removal is crucial, but what would you recommend as a replacement for this slot when this weapon-heavy meta changes?
Glad you are enjoying the deck mate! Well personally i would put anotherNourish in, it fits the same mana cost slot perfectly and kinda the same effect as Harrison Jones but there are a lot of other options!
How on earth do you beat aggro with this deck? I'm finding all too often I don't draw any early game removal/swipe and am dead by turn 6. Maybe just really unlucky but I'm 1-5 with this deck, mostly against Zoo and aggro Shaman.
Well, like any other deck you need to mulligan for your removal vs aggro decks, if you don't get it there's not much you can do about it..
Yeah i think it's just too slow right now but it's a great idea.
Can I replace fandral?
Well, you can but the deck performance will drop considerably.
What about yogg? Do you think he is bad now?
I think he is bad but also i never really liked him.
This deck has been working well! It feels like it has an answer for everything. Thanks for a great deck!
Good to know it's working for you! :)
I stopped playing Mulch because of how often it gave them something useful. I would almost rather use Naturalize than give them something like Deathwing or Corrupted Sear. I run Cenarius in my deck because I find him very useful in situations where you're ahead. Although, this deck is mainly what you prefer running or what you're encountering a lot on ladder. The Harrison could be cut if you're not facing many Shamans, Warriors or Paladins. You pretty much need to tweak your deck each day to find what is working best for what you're encountering.
Yeah that's pretty much what you need to do in order to climb, constant tweaks! On the mulch thing yeah it's a shit card but the only real hard removal available to drood unfortunately...consider running a second feral rage, shouldn't hurt much.
mulch almost never pulls good cards for the opponent...there are alot more low cost bad cards in the game than there are good cards.
